Chapter 44: Battle Sense-Stat
As her mind raced, Victor also reached his dorm room. He slumped on his bed and closed his eyes.
"Victor, you're wearing shoes." Luke's voice fell on his ears. He opened his eyes and turned to Luke's bed. Luke, still lying on the bed, stared at him with exhausted eyes.
You're awake." He commented.
"I woke up in the afternoon, and Nana brought me the food. She also asked me about you. Where were you?" Luke replied.
Victor's eyes widened for a moment, then he asked in confusion," Did you get beaten up again?"
"No, I still haven't recovered from yesterday's beating," Luke replied with a scowl.
"Oh, yesterday in the ring by Vladiyus?" Victor asked.
Luke snapped, "Are you mocking me? You were the one who brought me here."
"Oh, yes, yes, I remember." Victor grinned sheepishly and took his shoes off.
He lay on the bed and closed his eyes. 'Interesting.'
Luke grumbled and turned away from him.
Meanwhile, on a peaceful night as everyone slept, Lyla stood at the window and gazed outside. The Moon's pale light fell on her milky skin, and her eyes wandered in the dark forest.
Her roommate was already asleep, but she stood in her silky white nightdress, cold air caressed her skin. Her eyes returned from the forest and gazed into the space. On her system panel, her skills were the same, and her level was also the same, but she had unlocked a new stat. [Stamina] and [Battle sense], the two stats she was unfamiliar with the latter.
'Thanks to the book on stats in the library, I got to know that battle sense was a rare stat. Unique stat only unlocked by the Holy Paladin and only a few can unlock them, too.'
"But why is there only a dash before it?" She muttered to herself.
[Battle Sense]: --
"Forget it, let's focus on the training as much as possible. I need to get stronger before they assign us missions." She whispered, shaking her head. She glanced at the Moon one last time and closed her window.
As she lay on the bed and closed her eyes, Victor's face flashed. A naïve boy who used to follow her with a dumb smile plastered on his face. She exhaled loudly and shook her thoughts away. 'I don't deserve you, I know that, but it still hurts to see you ignore me.' Her eyes turned glossy, and she wiped her unshed tears.
Back in Victor's room, he felt a tug on his arm, and his groggy eyes opened. Through his hazy vision, he saw the green-eyed, beautiful elf glaring at him. He yawned and changed his side away from him.
"Victor, wake up! It's time for the training." Luke shouted in his ear.
"Fuckkkkkkk!" he jolted upright with a shout and hands covering his ears. He glared at Luke.
Luke crossed his arms with a smirk. "Let's go, we'll be late." He turned and walked toward the door. Victor stepped out of the bed and grumbled under his breath.
Behind the Military Academy, in a wide training ground, Derek stood in his usual uniform, hands clasped. The cadets slowly filled the ground, standing in three separate rows. As the morning light gradually increased, all the cadets were standing before him.
He nodded and stepped forward. "You have already been running for three days, several of you had already unlocked new stats, and now—" He bellowed, and stopped in mid-sentence, scanning the crowd of cadets with his eagle-like eyes.
"And now we should take up the notch." He continued and clicked in the air.
Blue light shone before him, and out of nowhere, several bracelets fell on the ground.
"Clink-clank" echoed in the vicinity.
All the cadets stared at the bracelets with curious and confused eyes. Derek didn't explain; his hand glowed blue, and an aura like a hand extending from it. It covered the mountain of bracelets. The bracelets flew and spread around the crowd of cadets.

All the bracelets were locked onto cadets' arms and legs. And many of them fell with the weight.
"What the hell!" shouts burst into the crowd. Some groaning, some screaming, and others crying.
"Those are weight-adjusting bracelets. From now on, you'll wear them everywhere," Derek ordered in his thunderous voice.
"And don't worry, every bracelet adjusts to your weight limit. As your limit increases, their weight will also increase." Derek smiled at them like a devil.
"Now, stand up!" He commanded.
The poor cadets followed the order and stood up on their unsteady feet.
"You have to complete the usual track in just 2 hours. I'm quite generous, aren't I?" He gave the cadets a smug smile.
"Ugh, generous my foot," Luke grumbled, stooping low. Victor nodded as he stood behind him.
Ding!
[Weight adjusted 20kg per limb]
[Daily task- Run 20Km with weights]
[Time Limit: 120 minutes]
[Reward: 1000 CP]
[Punishment: Must try once(surprise)]
"Hey, aren't you my system? Why are you making this difficult?" Victor whispered. But as usual system didn't reply to his useless questions.
He sighed and stared toward Kate, who stood upright; there was only a little discomfort on her face. Then his eyes drifted beside her to Zara, who was sitting on the ground with a red face. He sighed and gazed at their dictator, who had a pleased smile on his face.
"Your time starts now!" Derek shouted, moving aside.
Kate bolted forward, followed by Feena and Vladiyus. Other cadets stood up slowly, and some crawled forward.
Victor took one step at a time and tried to get used to the weights even a little. After a few minutes of walking, his muscles already turned sore. He stopped and bent over his knees, gasping for air.
"You... where were you?" Hearing the sound beside him, he opened his eyes and turned to the right.
Zara stood with trembling legs and hands. Sweat beads were dripping down her forehead. He smiled at her and replied, "I got lost in the forest."
"Oh," she stared at him, her blue eyes felt like they could see through his soul.
He gave her a warm smile, "I'm going ahead, meet you later." He sped up with an unsteady gate.
"Wait!" Zara shouted
"No, can't do," Victor replied, waving his hand.
Zara grumbled, "You bastard!"
