Chapter 43: A Mysterious Wolf
A girl with dark hair and pale, glowing eyes ran, hidden under the shadows, through the middle of the forest. Feena stopped and raised her head, looking at the tall towers of the Academy. "I need a shower, my paint is sticky, and my body stinks." She muttered.
She stepped into the corridor and walked hurriedly toward the Golden faction dorm. It was in the tallest tower, further from any other dorms.
"Princess, where the hell did you vanish?" A boy, with a build like a gorilla, exclaimed.
Feena's eyes widened at first, and then a scowl replaced the shock. 'Of all the people, why have I stumbled into this annoying guy?' She grumbled in her mind.
"Anek," Feena stated with a plain face.
"You were gone for a whole day. Where were you?" He screamed, coming closer to her.
"One day!" She cried out, her jaw dropping.
"Yes, you missed the combat training and morning training too," Anek shouted again.
"I can hear clearly, don't scream," Feena replied, irritated. She sped up, leaving the annoying boy behind.
Anek followed her closely and kept talking in a loud voice. They stopped near the dorm gate. She approached the door and placed her hand.
The door of Golden Faction looked ancient and was made of copper. Unlike other doors, it was inscribed with the wolf standing on the hill and howling toward the full moon in the sky.
A pulse passed through her hand, but this time her inner beast awakened in an instant. Her eyes glowed and turned feline. Wolf howling at the Moon turned its head toward her. Its eyes were pale grey, resembling the full Moon.
A howl reverberated in her brain, and she lost control.
"Roarrrr!"
She roared, turning into a she-wolf, her eyes red with saliva dripping from her mouth.
"Oh, Fenrir! No, you lost control!" Anek screamed and transformed into a bigger werewolf.
A silver werewolf stood against the grey-furred one, huge in size and height, then her. Both growled at each other. The grey werewolf was in control, whereas the silver werewolf was in rage.
"Princess Feena!" Anek growled, shouting. Feena didn't respond and pounced at him with wide arms.
Anek ducked low and punched her in the stomach.
Bam!
She went skidding back.
SLAM!
And smashed into the wall. Pain cleared Feena's brain, and she changed back into human form.
"Ugh," with groans, she stood up and glared at Anek, the grey werewolf.
"I'm sorry, Princess." Anek transformed back and apologized.
Feena shook her head and glanced at the gate. The wolf was in its usual place, and nothing felt unusual. What was that? That howl, why did I lose control? And why did that ancestor wolf react to my touch?
"Ugh, so many questions," Feena grumbled loudly, pulling her hair.
"Are…are you okay?" Anek asked hesitantly.
Feena glared at him and shook her head, "No, let's go." She stepped near the door and extended her hand. Her heart raced, and her hand trembled in hesitation. 'I hope, I hope I don't lose control again. Please, Fenrir, help me.' She prayed in her mind and touched the metal door.
Buzz…
Creakkkkkk!
The door swung open. Her body relaxed, and she took a relieved breath. Her eyes brightened, and she stepped inside her dorm room. Anek stared at her in confusion but didn't utter a word in fear.
Meanwhile, before the blue faction dorm gate, Kate stood with flickering and unsure eyes. 'I have to trust this locket from the Moon goddess. Let's go, Kate.' She assured herself by touching her locket.
She extended her trembling hand and touched the door. A pulse came out from the door and passed from her body into the locket. The Crimson Moon locket glowed dimly.
Creakkkkkk!
The door opened, she walked inside hurriedly, and the door shut behind her. She exhaled with a light smile tugging on her lips. "Thanks, Goddess," she muttered and moved toward her dorm room. As she reached her room's door, she opened it quietly and peeked inside. The room was completely dark, and Zara was asleep in her bed. She entered and crept silently toward her bed.
"Kate, is that you!" Zara asked in a loud voice and sat up on her bed. She could see Kate's shadow in the dark. She reached her bedside and turned on the light.
Kate stopped and froze; she wasn't expecting this. She shook her head and smiled at Zara.
"Where were you? I was worried sick. You were gone for a day, and I asked every teacher, but nobody took it seriously." She blurted without a breath and bolted toward Kate.
"Whole day? One day only?" Kate shouted with widened eyes.
"Yes, the whole day. Are you alright?" Zara stood beside her and held her hand.
Kate came back to her senses and yanked her hand away. She walked toward her bed and replied to Zara, "Yes, yes. I'm tired." She lay down on the bed, turned away from Zara, and closed her eyes.
Zara stared at her for a few moments in a daze. Then she shook her head and whispered, " Goodnight, Kate."
Kate didn't reply, pretending to sleep.
She must be tired. I'll ask her in the morning. I'm glad she is back, I hope he has returned too. Zara prayed, closing her eyes and going back to sleep.
Kate's mind raced with thousands of thoughts. I thought we had spent a week there. What's going on? Was it another dimension? I have heard about it, but it was also said that it wasn't possible. Then how?
I never knew about the God of Lust; I thought there was only the Chaos God that supported the Aliens. If there is a God of Lust, then there must be other lower Gods. Does the army know about it? I think they know, but it's not public knowledge.
She exhaled and opened her eyes. She stared at the wall beside the bed. 'If this were true, we would have been at a severe disadvantage in war.'
