Crimson System of Vampire Prince

Chapter 42: Back At the Academy

I never thought that as a werewolf I would be standing in the Crimson Alter, the sacred place of ancient Vampires. But this didn't seem right? Feena thought as she observed around.

The werewolves and Vampires were ancient rivals. They never stood on the same side. Vampires considered them an inferior race, and Werewolves thought of them as an abomination.

Far away from them, inside the Chaos territory of the Aliens, on the outskirts, a tall black tower stood. In the highest floor of it, a throne hall of Raka, the two-star rank Chaos Alien and the Lord of his region sat on the throne. On the steps of the throne, several naked females were lying with a black collar around their necks and lifeless eyes staring into space.

[Yes] or [No]

A black panel appeared before Raka, and as he read it, he laughed loudly. Females lying on the steps shivered and raised their heads, looking at him with glossy eyes.

"Finally, a favor from a God." Raka rumbled in a thick voice. He stepped down from the throne and walked toward the window of the tower. He clicked his tongue and started speaking.

"Everyone from area 49, I am assigning you a mission. A mission worth 5 million CP." Raka said aloud, and his sound was transmitted through the system to every chaos alien in Area 49.

Ding!

[Mission by the Area 49 Lord]

[Kill: Victor Hans]

[Reward: 50,00000]

Screams echoed, human-like, joyful screams.

"A mission worth 5 million CP!" one chaos alien shouted.

"If I complete it, I could live all my life comfortably." Thousands of excited chaos aliens rose and moved toward the battlefield between humans. Raka smiled and went back to his throne room.

Two guards knelt on the ground, their heads lowered, and were wearing full-body armor.

"Ah, you heard my announcement?"

"Yes, my Lord!" the guards replied in unison.

"Hmm, mobilize our agents in the Human Empire and ask them to gather information about this Victor Hans," Raka ordered, sitting back on his throne.

Guard's eyes widened, one guard gulped, and in a hesitant voice replied, "Lord, those agents were sent there for the Greater Chaos Empire."

Raka growled at the guard, and a suffocating aura emerged from his body at once.

Boom!

SLAM!

The guards and girls pressed into the ground.

CRACK!

The breaking of bones and cracking of the floor echoed, followed by several groans.

"Do as I say." Raka's words rumbled. He retrieved his aura and glanced at the bleeding females. With a wave of his hand, several healing potions fell before them, and they drank with trembling hands. He leaned back and glared at the departing guards. A humanoid shadow appeared near his throne.

"Keep an eye on them. If they betray me, kill them." Raka whispered to the Shadow. It nodded and vanished back into the wall.

Meanwhile, back at the altar, Feena's excited screams reverberated as she found a katana. The sleek black handle, a thin, slightly curved sword with dull luster, without any scabbard.

Ding!

[Shuri]

[Silver ranked]

"A silver-ranked weapon!" She exclaimed.

Kate and Victor, curious, came to look. Their eyes widened, and their jaw dropped. It was a beautiful sword, though it didn't appear to be sharp, but the black handle and the patterns of a dragon in scarlet color were the most eye-catching. Its color was dark red, giving the handle a distinct and beautiful appearance.

"Didn't this katana belong to Vampires?" Victor commented with a smirk.

Feena growled at him, "Finders keepers, losers weepers."

He laughed at her childish behavior. Kate also laughed with him.

"No doubt your Katana is beautiful, but I like guns and they're more effective." He replied.

He examined around the hall, trying to find the way outside. 'I only got this cryptic skill book, which I don't know what it's about.'

His eyes drifted toward a hole, and he felt fresh air coming through it.

"Hey, guys, come here!" he shouted and ran toward it.

In the wall, behind the pillars of the Altar, was a small hole, with no more than 20inches in width. Feena and Kate came running toward Victor and noticed the hole.

Feena sniffed around it and then replied, "Yes, I can sense the forest's earthly aroma."

"Let's get out of here," Kate shouted and dived into the hole.

Before they could ask her to wait, she had already started crawling inside. Feena also chased her, and he entered last. After crawling through a dark and muddy cave, Kate heard the splashing sound. "We are almost out. I could hear the sound of a waterfall," Kate shouted.

She sped up, and shortly after, she climbed out into a larger cave. She squinted due to the dim light coming through the opening of the cave.

She observed around; she was in a small cave with rough and wet walls. Just a few meters out, its opening was hidden behind a waterfall. And dim light passed through the water, lighting up the cave. Feena crawled out of the hole, followed by Victor.

"I think that's the Academy Forest River." Kate pointed at the cave opening. Both followed her finger.

"Let's leave," Kate said, moving toward the opening. Near the opening, they could see the clear water, and on the right side, small, rough steps led outside.

Kate stepped on them, back sticking against the wall. She walked sideways. As she appeared in the open, crossing the waterfall, fresh and refreshing air touched her face. She smiled and muttered, "Finally, I'm out of the suffocating place."

Her eyes fell on the forest ground, a few feet away from the edge where the steps ended. Without much thought, she jumped and landed on the other side. She slumped on the dense and soft grass. "Finally, fresh air," she took a deep breath and exhaled.

Thud!

Feena hopped and slouched beside her. She gazed toward the sky. Full moon glowed in the sky, and the forest felt quiet with only the sound of the waterfall in the vicinity.

As Victor landed near them, he looked at them. "How many days were we in there?" he muttered with his hand on his chin.

Kate opened her eyes; in her vision, leaves of trees covered the dark sky. 'I have changed. I feel free, but at the same time, the chains that bound me have been replaced with new ones. But these chains connect me with him, and I feel happy.'

She turned her head sideways and peeked at him. A warm smile appeared on her face. "Yeah, I like this freedom." She whispered to herself.

Feena stood up and observed the two, "We should return to the Academy separately."

Kate stood up and nodded toward her. "Go ahead, I'll enter after you."

Feena stared at Victor and her for a few seconds. Sigh, "Remember the oath. Victor, I'm going to need your help."

"Alright." He replied and glanced at Kate. Feena bolted into the forest and vanished in the darkness shortly after.

Kate stepped closer to him, and she wrapped her arms around his neck.

He smiled warmly and whispered, "Aren't you leaving too?"

"I am, but before that—" she kissed him. His eyes widened at the sudden action, then he relaxed, and his hands roamed around her back. He held her by the waist and pushed her closer into his embrace. After a few moments, she broke the kiss; a thin thread of saliva still connected the two.

She gazed into his eyes for a few seconds, time stopped, and their eye contact didn't break. She could perceive the connection, the deeper link with him; it didn't feel forced, and it'll never break. She could sense the peace and warmth near him.

But there was this thought in her corner of mind, like an old thorn, forgotten but still there, making her uncomfortable. 'She wasn't free.' Ignoring that thorn, she smiled at him and broke eye contact. She sped into the forest and vanished from his eyes.

Victor sighed and gazed at the moon. He muttered, "I know what you were thinking."

He exhaled in exasperated breath and whispered, "Hey system, can you tell me if I could free her from restrictions. The ones that bind her to me."

Ding!

[You can, but only after six months]

[Abandonment ritual]

[Offer the Moon Goddess's Goblet filled with your blood to her]

[Celestial Shop]

[Moon Goddess Goblet]

[Silver ranked]

[50,000CP]

[Note: Abandonment ritual can only be performed by the creator willingly.]

"Thanks." He whispered to the system.

"I need 50,000 CP." He muttered and turned back, moving into the forest.
