Criminal X : Epitome Of Evil

Chapter 500: When Legends Are Written in Blood

Jaun Elia.

He was a writer and a poet.

Pablo brought him with him to write about the war in brutal honesty. Pablo told him to write only the truth. No need to glorify anyone or anything. Just the truth. And yet, he ended up making Pablo the hero in the story he wrote on the battlefield.

He was hidden under ten or twenty corpses and was writing. He also had a small screen on his hand which showed him the war from all angles since he couldn't write about the war well if he stayed in only one stop.

He wasn't a good fighter and didn't have an Ego that could be used for fighting. So the screen really helped him as he wouldn't have been able to roam around the Crucible and write about the complete happenings of the war.

Pablo had burned all the tents of the soldiers but he believed he should have kept one for Jaun. He had forgotten about the man as he had become the Criminal Pablo Castillo for the war.

But Jaun said that it was fine and he also said that Pablo burning the tents was the first thing that made him the hero of his story in the first place.

"Can't say I am a hero, Jaun. Choose someone else." Pablo said.

Jaun laughed. "You are a hero. I haven't seen others doing the things you do. Let me write the way I want. You want the truth, I will give you the truth. But my words are mine."

Pablo sighed. "Do whatever you want then. But what would you do if an enemy found you? After all, a man writing during a war while he watches a screen, stands out. Not to mention the armor you are wearing. It belongs to the Forza Kingdom."

"I know that. That's why I changed it. I removed the black armor and now I am wearing a red one. I belong to Vampires now." Jaun said.

Pablo nodded. "Why the Vampires? You could have chosen the Cannibals too."

"I heard they eat each other. I may not be a responsible citizen but I am certainly more valuable than flesh."

Pablo chuckled. "That's good and all. But what would you do if a Vampire saw you and recognised you? You don't have red eyes, their teeths, or senses. What would you do if they attacked you?"

"Well.." Jaun remained silent for a second then he just sighed. "I might recite them poetry. I guess."

Some soldiers laughed after hearing that and Jaun shared a chuckle as well.

But Pablo found no smile on his face. Heck, he lost his previous good mood too.

"Don't do that, Jaun." He said.

"What, Commander?" Jaun didn't get it.

"Don't recite poetry to a swordsman. If you encounter an enemy and he wants you dead, then draw a sword and fight. Pen is mightier than the sword, yes. But it is only mightier…"

Pablo paused and the soldiers had stopped laughing as they heard Pablo's next words.

"When the writer is alive to use it."

Jaun went silent.

The soldiers came out of their chucklings and focused on the war.

Pablo kept walking towards Harlia while killing along the way as dead bodies fell wherever he walked past.

After a few more seconds, Jaun's voice finally came.

"I understand, Commander. I will try to stay safe. And if it came to a fight, I shall die fighting."

Pablo nodded. "That's better."

"And I am using that last line of yours in my story now. The pen is mightier one. I hate to use others' lines but it'd be a waste not to use that."

"I don't give a fuck. Just don't write something that didn't happen. I will kill you if you do that. The next time you speak, make sure it's for something important. I won't be able to talk to you when I reach Malvador."

"As you wish. I can't wait to write about the final clash between you and Malvador."

Pablo stopped talking and Jaun spoke nothing after that as well.

After a few minutes, Pablo reached the spot where Harlia had made that sound and there was nothing at the place. The ashes were less on that spot so Pablo was sure that this was the same spot Harlia had used her Ego in full power. After all, even the ashes were not safe with her Ego. Pablo had seen it first hand when he had used this same Ego on Corrosive.

"Admiral, where are you?" He asked, looking around.

"Did you reach the spot where I had made that sound?"

"Yes. But you are not here."

"Look around, bastard. I am beneath twenty vampires! I need fifteen minutes to wipe them all off!"

Pablo looked to the left of the less ashes spot and there, he saw it. Twenty vampires were placed on top of each other. As if they had won a football match.

He had disregarded them as corpses but they were not. They were alive.

"I found it. Wait there for a second." Pablo said and jerked Colt.

He moved towards that mountain of Vampires and stabbed one of them.

Then, while carrying the Vampire with his Colt being pierced inside him, Pablo threw the Vampire away.

Now only nineteen were left and he raced his mind to think of a way to remove all of them at once.

He had believed if he killed one, then the other Vampires would forget Harlia and attack Pablo but that didn't happen as none of them moved away from Harlia.

They are cannon fodders. Their only role is to stop her from reaching Malvador. They are not using their Egoes on her which means they have useless Egoes. Their only use is to stay on top of her. Malvador surely knows how to use his soldiers. But if they are weak and useless then…

Pablo un-summoned Colt and extended his palms at the pile of the Vampires.

Then, he used Vibra Nirvana again but now in the medium level.

He sent vibrations from both his palms to that mountain and in just a second…

BURST!

All twenty of them exploded.
