Chapter 499: The Feast of Fools
The King of the Cannibals was dead.
The soldiers of the Forza Kingdom were scared and tense because they thought the Cannibals would now be angry at them for killing their King.
But Pablo told them that there was no need to worry about the Cannibals. In fact, it would be easier to kill them now.
The soldiers didn't get it so Pablo told them to look at the Cannibals themselves.
And when they looked, they understood Pablo's point.
Just after their king died, all the Cannibals began arguing with each other.
And the topic of their argument was—who would be the next King of the Cannibals?
Each and every Cannibal shared their views on why they should become the King. Every Cannibal wanted the throne. All of them called themselves stronger than the rest.
And when the discourse went to the peak, the Cannibals began fighting each other.
They began killing themselves.
Pablo's and Harlia's soldiers could only watch it with no expressions and a lot of surprise but Pablo had figured something like this would happen after Corrosive's death.
The Cannibals were unruly creatures, opposite of loyalty and sophistication. But even they knew the power of the throne. And they wanted it for themselves. The only mistake they made was the mistake of fighting for the throne in the middle of a war.
And Pablo won't miss such a chance.
"Don't wait for a ceremony, soldiers. Kill them all. Let's win half the war with their deaths. Go!"
"YES!"
The soldiers stopped ridiculing the Cannibals' minds and ran towards them.
"You too, Draxus. Destroy them."
"As you say."
Draxus moved with his shadow towards the Cannibals as well.
Pablo saw dead bodies falling one by one as the Cannibals were in no position to fight the soldiers. They were busy fighting among themselves so when they received an attack from a third party, they had no way of dodging and as a result, they were dying on the spot.
Pablo watched them for a while and he believed the black armored soldiers would be fine so he focused on helping the Admiral.
He looked at the spot where that loud sound had come from. He knew what that sound meant as he himself had produced that sound a few moments ago as well.
Harlia had used her Ego and those who had seen Pablo killing the Corrosive, would know that Harlia had done the same thing as him.
Draxus already suspects something. He was looking at me just after he heard that sound from Harlia. The only grace I could think of is that I had used the Ego before her so people might think she copied it from me. Or since it's the last war, I think it would be fine even if my secret came out.
Pablo put that thought at the back of his mind and finally began moving towards Harlia.
The Admiral wanted to kill Malvador but she wasn't able to reach him as everytime she would, some Vampires would pounce on her, stopping her.
So Pablo had told her that he would help her reach Malvador by stopping the Vampires from pouncing on her.
Also, he wasn't sure if Harlia would be able to kill Malvador. He was strong and for a woman like her, it would be hard to kill him as Malvador was a lot like Pablo. And Pablo would do anything to not die even if he was getting overpowered by someone.
Nevertheless, Harlia was the Admiral of the Abyssal Butcher so in no way she was weak. He had seen her Ego first hand after all. If anything, she would be able to harm Malvador badly.
Pablo took long strides and killed everyone he saw along the way.
The rain was still there but it had begun slowing down. After Pablo used Harlia's Ego in full power, for a few seconds, the rain wasn't touching him but now it was falling on him like normal.
Pablo killed some Cannibals, he killed some Vampires, he almost killed some of his own soldiers but stopped after seeing the black Demonite armor. He was having fun killing that's why he wasn't paying all that attention to who was around him. He simply swung Colt, and sometimes he used his finger to burst off the enemies.
He couldn't use his full body vibration technique as he had to wait for fifteen minutes before he could use it again. That was the drawback of Harlia's Ego.
And he also knew that Harlia also used her full body vibration a few minutes ago so she also had to wait for fifteen minutes to use it again.
For now, Pablo and Harlia could only use their fingers to send vibrations for the killing.
"You are going to lose Sera's Ego. Twelve hours are about to end." Cupid said, floating beside him. She was constantly writing things in her diary.
Pablo had told her to keep an eye on the time and she did her job well.
Pablo had copied Sera's Ego yesterday and before the war took place, he only had it for two hours.
And it seemed those two hours were about to go up. Pablo kind of knew about it as the rain was also loosening up. The soldier who caused this rain had said it would stay for one hour and since it was slowing, it meant one hour was about to be over.
'Tell me when I lose Sera's Ego. Don't before it. Don't after it.' Pablo replied. He used his mind as, if he talked with Cupid through his mouth then the soldiers would get confused as they would also hear him.
Cupid nodded and remained silent. But when Pablo looked at her diary, he remembered about Jaun.
Jaun Elia, the writer he brought with him to write about the War.
"Jaun? Are you alive?" He spoke.
"Yes. I am alive. Just hidden under ten corpses and writing everything. The small screen you gave me shows me the war with full clarity. And for now, you are the hero of it."
"I should have kept one tent for you." Pablo said. He had burned all the tents before the war, forcing John to find refuge under corpses.
"No, Commander. That move of yours…" John said, paused, and while writing, he smiled.
"It was the first thing that made you the Hero in the first place."
