Criminal X : Epitome Of Evil

Chapter 490: When Death Fell Twice

Draxus came in front of the soldiers standing at the back who had their hands raised towards the sky.

He had already killed three but there were a lot more left to kill.

It would have taken a lot of time to kill each soldier one by one in the shadows so he had decided to take a different approach.

He stopped hiding and came out of his shadow and now the soldiers saw him.

All of them raised their brows as for them, Draxus appeared out of nowhere.

But when they realised that Draxus was an enemy they forgot their fear and…

"Don't bother. It won't take time." Draxus spoke first and slipped in the shadow again and the next second, a sword appeared, piercing through a soldier.

The soldiers saw that and after that, all of them focused on Draxus.

Their hands weren't extended towards the sky anymore.

When Draxus saw that, he instantly asked Pablo if the fire balls in the sky showed some change or not.

Pablo looked in the sky and after a few seconds, he answered, "Well. They didn't vanish. But they stopped."

Draxus nodded. "Alright."

His plan worked. He came in front of the soldiers to make them surprised or afraid or angry by killing one of their own in front of their eyes.

And when Draxus killed one soldier, all the other soldiers were enraged and they all began running after him, forgetting the sky.

But Draxus also noticed that only those who were showing their hands to the sky were after him, the people with the brows didn't move an inch. They kept their aim at the sky, ignoring what went on with Draxus and the other soldiers.

The distance between the soldiers who were showing their palms to the sky and the soldiers with the bow and arrow was very less.

Both these groups stood beside each other and Draxus was currently inside the shadow of a, well, showing-palm-to-the-sky soldier.

Draxus pierced the soldier with his sword and like Pablo had told him, the Vampires could heal so he made sure to attack their hearts or brains. Heck, he was attacking like this at the Cannibals too. He wanted no risk of an undead legion suddenly rising.

He killed one soldier, hopped into the shadow of another soldier and then killed him. He kept doing this and he did this very fast. He was killing two soldiers in one second.

And he constantly asked Pablo if the fireballs vanished or not.

But Pablo replied no every time as the fireballs were still present but paused.

The fireballs were defying gravity as nothing could stay still in the air. But he knew there was an Ego involved so anything was possible.

Draxus simply killed and killed and Pablo had slowed down his walking speed. He didn't want to reach Malvador at the moment. He would like the fireballs to be taken care of first.

Like that, five minutes passed and Draxus was inside the shadow of the last guard.

The fireballs were still there and everyone believed that this last soldier was the one responsible for them.

So Draxus wasted no time and pierced the soldier's heart.

He then came out of the shadow, made sure that the soldier was dead and asked the same thing from Pablo again.

"Was he the one with the fireballs Ego, czar?"

Pablo sighed. "Yes."

"Then we won?" Draxus asked, his voice in a high pitch.

"See for yourself." Pablo replied and Draxus didn't understand his Czar's indifferent reply.

But he did what Pablo said and looked in the sky.

Just when he did that, his eyes went wide.

"How is this possible?"

Pablo said the possible answer. "There are thousands of fire balls in the sky. It seemed the soldiers whom you killed weren't really all that strong that's why Malvador stationed them at the back.

The soldiers with bow and arrows must be weaker or have Egoes related to bows that's why they are holding them.

Anyway, the ones you killed, all of them must have an Ego related to this fireball parade and after you killed all of them, all these fireballs started moving and now they are coming to crash down on all of us."

The fireballs had stopped in the sky a while ago but just after Draxus killed the last soldier, the fireballs had begun to fall down again. Killing the guard didn't make them vanish, instead it fastened the speed of the fireballs to fall.

But no one was all that worried.

"Then give the order, Czar." Draxus said.

Pablo nodded. "The soldier who said that he can extinguish these balls, do it. I don't care if you are under me or the Admiral. Kill these balls. They won't differentiate between armies."

"As you say." The soldier replied and started his work.

Pablo couldn't see who the soldier was but he noticed the fireballs becoming less and less.

That put a smile on Pablo's face.

"It's working. What is your name, soldier?" Pablo asked.

The soldier chuckled. "Forgot me this early? I am Graham. The one who took your test."

Pablo recalled the name and instantly, he remembered it.

Graham was the old man who was the instructor when Pablo first arrived at the military.

He was also the eighth Marshal.

"Good to hear that you are still alive."

Graham laughed. "Good to see that you became so big for the likes of us old men, Commander."

"Alright. We will talk later. Finish this shit fast." Pablo came back to his previous self.

Graham also said nothing about it and made sure to kill the fireballs.

Pablo squinted his eyes to see what the old man was actually doing and soon, he found it.

Graham was taking away little drops of fire from the balls and throwing it somewhere else. He was doing it faster than ever and Pablo was impressed at the control of his Ego.

But the fireballs were also constantly coming towards the ground at a fast speed. Graham had to increase his speed as well.

However, someone on the Crucible was waiting for this moment.

When Malvador saw that the fireballs had reached his desired height, he raised his hand.

Pablo saw it.

Malvador then flashed a smile at Pablo and dropped down his hand.

Pablo remained silent but after a second, he understood what Malvador did.

It's time for the arrows.
