Crazy Blood Demon

Chapter 12: Bloody Carnage and Illusionist

Bob walked slowly toward the entrance of the tunnel, making sure no one would escape. People couldn't help but watch him, noticing the odd way he moved. His steps were heavy, filled with an overwhelming rush of energy and adrenaline. He was the man who had killed the solo Boss, and his presence alone made others uneasy. They couldn't quite explain it—Bob didn't seem frightening enough to terrify them, yet the aura emanating from him made them instinctively wary.

He gripped his long, heavy two-handed sword, the sight of it alone sending a wave of fear through the crowd. Bob didn't care. He was focused on his target.

When he reached the entrance, Bob took a deep breath, cleared his mind, and flexed his muscles.

That's when he saw the old man sitting against the wall—his first target.

Bob charged toward him. The old man didn't have time to react before the sword struck him. Bob didn't hesitate for a moment.

With a sickening thud, the old man's head was severed, and his body crumpled to the ground. A swirl of blood immediately began to spiral toward the red gem in Bob's crown.

In the span of a second, the man's flesh dissolved, leaving only grey skin and brittle bones behind.

The crowd, now fully aware of what was happening, began to scatter, fear taking over as they pushed away from Bob.

Bob didn't pause. A bloody massacre followed, one that would have horrified any normal person. The air was thick with the scent of blood and gore, and human organs lay strewn across the ground.

In the midst of the carnage stood Bob, drenched in blood, his face twisted into a ghastly grin.

Bob stared at the numbers, feeling a rush of ecstasy. It was like hitting the jackpot at a casino—and he hadn't even broken a sweat. Killing the Boss had been harder.

He spared no one, not even children. The only exception was Nina. Killing her wouldn't yield much XP or coins, and he didn't mind having at least one person around to talk to.

Suddenly, Bob heard a voice in his head.

"Bob, you're the trash of humanity." It was the voice of a thin man.

Bob froze, looking around, but there was no one to be seen except Nina, who sat in the corner, eyes wide in fear.

The voice came again, laced with anger. "How could you kill so many of your kind?"

Bob spun around, startled, and felt a cold hand grab his shoulder.

He focused hard, his eyes narrowing in concentration. Then he realized something.

"How come I didn't kill you? And why can't I see you?" Bob hissed.

"Haha, now you're going to pay for it!" The voice echoed again, dripping with malice.

Suddenly, Bob saw a large black hand emerge from the ground, followed by a monstrous body and head. The creature was massive—about four meters long—with two large, black arms dragging along the floor, its body riddled with craters leaking green liquid. Its head was triangular, with two glowing red eyes staring at Bob.

The monster made no sound. It was like it didn't even exist.

'Didn't that damn Addak say monsters can't enter here?!' Bob cursed in his mind.

He dropped into a fighting stance and charged at the creature. But when his sword struck, it passed through it as though the monster weren't even there.

Pain suddenly flared in his back.

Someone had stabbed him, but when he turned around, there was no one to be seen.

"Head of the family, may I speak?" Remo's voice sounded in Bob's head, surprising him.

"Yes," Bob responded, still on edge.

"Haha, I finally feel a little freer. Anyway, that guy... he used illusions on you."

Bob was taken aback.

"Now that I think about it, it makes sense," he muttered to himself.

"But I also have some concerns. Creating illusions must be a powerful skill—at least level three, maybe more. But it should cost a lot of mana. I don't understand how he can have so much mana at his level."

Bob nodded, beginning to piece everything together.

"Anyway, I'm just a freshly revealed ghost with limited knowledge about your planet. But since you've acquired me, be happy," Remo continued, his voice tinged with amusement.

Bob kept his eyes closed, still unsure whether he could trust what he was seeing. He felt something moving behind him, and he prepared himself.

A sudden force slammed into him, sending him crashing into the wall.

Bob felt the impact and waited for the right moment to strike.

He opened his eyes, spotting the familiar swirl of blood.

He had killed the illusionist with a single strike, and surprisingly, the bounty for him was the same as it had been for the rabbit. It seemed absurd—this guy had been much tougher to deal with.

'Did I gain enough blood to form a core?' Bob asked, eager to check his progress.

'You only have 34% of the blood needed to form a core,' Remo responded.

'Only?! After all that killing!' Bob was both frustrated and angry.

'True, you killed a lot of people, but their blood was weak. You need to take down stronger opponents to make progress,' Remo explained with a slight chuckle.

Bob snorted in frustration. He pulled himself up and sat down beside Nina, taking a moment to reflect on everything that had just happened.

Then, his favourite part, as always, he opened his status.
