"It all starts with reversing the future and going back to 1973…"

Norin began recounting the story of the world after the future was reversed.

At that time, Jean was still young and unaware of everything, but Charles, following Norin's narrative, revisited the past. Back then, he had lost his telepathic abilities and fallen into despair.

The story of Logan 3 was tragic.

After reversing the future, mutants finally experienced a period of peace, and humans temporarily halted the Sentinel Project.

The two sides began to understand each other.

But was the future truly bright?

Decades later,

All naturally reproducing mutants died out.

Ordinary humans employed a more insidious method—genetically modified plants—to infiltrate and eliminate mutants from every aspect of life.

For 25 years, no new mutants were born.

The abilities of the older mutants were affected, and they even developed illnesses from long-term exposure to genetically modified species.

In the end, only the genetically engineered new mutants remained, and they were nearly wiped out.

This was the end of mutants.

It also foreshadowed the failure of Charles's ideals.

Even after reversing the future, mutants still couldn't coexist peacefully with humans.

There was only one final outcome: extinction.

During this time, Professor X, once the sharpest mind alive, suffered from Alzheimer's disease. In his dementia, his powers went out of control, and he killed the old generation of X-Men, nearly eradicating the last remnants of mutant leadership.

Only Logan, whose abilities had declined due to prolonged exposure to genetically modified substances, remained to care for Professor X.

But in the end, even he couldn't escape death.

When Charles heard how Wolverine—whose powers had weakened to the point where every use of his claws caused excruciating pain and took ages to heal—died in a desolate wasteland protecting the artificially created new mutants,

His heart ached.

Logan, the lone wolf, the man who had lived for centuries without aging and had always shrugged off pain, had fallen to such a state. It was a testament to the cruelty of that world.

If even Logan met such a fate, what hope was there for mutants?

Though there were new mutants created through genetic engineering in the end, they still faced endless persecution.

Without the protection of the older mutants, how could they possibly defend themselves?

It was a brutally harsh world for mutants.

After Norin finished speaking, Charles and Jean were left speechless, unable to recover for a while.

This was an unprecedented shock to their beliefs.

Mutants… extinct.

Humans didn't forbid mutants to exist—they simply wouldn't tolerate disobedience. What they wanted were completely controllable mutants, devoid of self-awareness and emotions, to be used as the ultimate killing machines.

Was all of this true?

Charles was shaken and couldn't help but doubt.

He hoped these were lies fabricated by Norin because the reality was too cruel for mutants.

Jean was even more skeptical.

She couldn't imagine the world's smartest man succumbing to Alzheimer's, his mind deteriorating until he killed his own students.

It was a devastating fate for someone so respected.

It was tantamount to killing his own son.

"Am I really wrong? All the efforts I've made can't change the fate of mutants?"

Charles fell into self-doubt. Maybe he'd been deluding himself all along? Could humans and mutants never coexist peacefully?

So what should they do? It seemed no matter which path they took, it wouldn't work.

Charles had always considered himself a determined person, and that was true. Once he chose a path, he stuck to it.

But now, faced with a dead end, he was momentarily lost.

"If you can really travel across worlds, how can we trust you?"

Jean couldn't bear the thought of such an ending. She found it hard to believe the future of mutants was so bleak.

Charles also looked up.

He desperately hoped this was all a lie.

But…

"I have a way to prove it. While I can't bring people across, I can bring things from other universes."

In front of them, Norin traveled to The Boys Universe and grabbed a magazine from the current era. The cover featured a promotional poster of the Super Seven.

He also brought back other magazines, newspapers, and items that proved the existence of different worlds.

Without staying too long, he returned to the Marvel universe.

According to Norin's plan, The Boys universe had to be conquered.

That world wasn't simple either. It had the black technology of Compound V, which could mass-produce superheroes and create superhumans like Homelander.

Homelander's abilities made him immune to almost all human weapons. Even a standard-yield nuclear bomb couldn't kill him.

Though Homelander was often called a junior Superman, his strength didn't match Henry Cavill's.

But right now, Norin wasn't as strong as Henry Cavill either. No matter how weak Henry was, he'd been soaking up the sun for over 30 years.

Norin's current strength was just a copy of Kara's weakened state.

It was more than enough to handle ordinary superheroes, but he wasn't entirely confident about facing Homelander.

At least, he didn't think he could survive a nuclear bomb.

Unless he used other abilities, like molecular mimicry.

After spending more time under the sun, he'd be ready to conquer The Boys universe.

He'd turn it into a backup plan—a safe haven.

Norin disappeared briefly. Charles searched for Norin's signal across the city but found nothing.

When Norin reappeared, holding a magazine clearly from a different timeline, along with some tapes, Charles and Jean had to accept the truth: Norin could travel between worlds.

This meant the Twilight Universe and the Days of Future Past timeline were real.

Their opportunities were running out.

"We have to reconsider our next steps, or despair will be waiting for us." Jean said, taking a deep breath.

Charles nodded and looked at Norin. "Do you have any suggestions?"

"Yes. I can't guarantee success, but we can try."

Norin was prepared.

Charles's eyes lit up. "At least it can't be worse than mutant extinction."

"Actually, part of the answer is in your hands."

"Hmm?" Both Charles and Jean looked at the magazine in their hands. It showed the Super Seven, led by Homelander.

Norin briefly explained the situation in The Boys universe.

After hearing how superpowered individuals in that world were idolized as God's favorites and embodiments of justice—while secretly being villains who committed all kinds of evil—Charles and Jean were left pondering.

Mutants, feared and hunted, faced extinction.

Superhumans in The Boys universe were worshipped, yet they were the true villains.

This stark difference made Charles and Jean wonder, "Where did we go wrong?"
