"We lost because we weren't ruthless enough. We lost because we couldn't pretend. We lost because of power and money. We lost because we weren't united enough. We lost because of our strength!"

Norin's words cut through the room.

There's no doubt Professor X and Magneto work well together. One plays the villain, destroying humanity, while the other acts as the dove, guarding peace and helping humanity.

Every time Magneto causes chaos, Professor X steps in to stop him.

This method wins the favor of some humans, but they forget one thing.

The villains who do evil are mutants. The heroes who save the day are also mutants.

Imagine being attacked by Magneto and saved by the X-Men. Wouldn't you wonder:

'They're the same kind of people. Are they directing and acting in their own play? Shouldn't I have the strength to protect myself?'

Faced with an uncontrollable force that could replace humanity as the world's rulers, what would you do?

Humans haven't acted against mutants yet. They fear Magneto's power and rely on Professor X to balance him. They also fear Professor X's abilities.

Most importantly, they lack the power to strike decisively.

Until they have a weapon to tip the scales, ordinary people will bide their time, developing in secret.

But once they gain the power to overturn the balance, they'll deal a fatal blow to mutants.

"First, even with Magneto, it's not enough. Magneto isn't influenced by us. He won't truly cooperate to eliminate organizations and people harmful to mutants. He even gives ordinary humans a bad impression of us."

"Second, we need a disguise. We must position ourselves as vulnerable and package ourselves carefully. Becoming stars is a good identity."

"Imagine if we created a team like the Super Seven. We could make it our mission to maintain peace, promote ourselves, build our image, and gather more people to speak for us."

"Even if the authorities want to act against us, they'll have to consider whether the people will allow it."

"You should know of braindead fans. They can wield power far beyond your imagination."

Brain-dead fans?

Charles and Jean understood what this meant.

These fans are truly fanatical. For their idols, they'll abandon race, nationality, and family. They'll fight the whole world and feel spiritually united with their idols.

"Besides this, we can create more identities and give ourselves some 'little buffs.'"

"Little buffs? What's that?"

They didn't think of it as just a gaming term. There had to be a deeper meaning.

Seeing their confusion, Norin smiled mysteriously and said, "You know the term 'political correctness,' right?"

"You also know this country has many small groups—AIDS patients, the LGBTQ+ community, racial minorities, transgender people..."

Norin remembered how exaggerated political correctness had become in the future. Though this world is different, they could still learn from it.

In this respect, both sides have something in common.

Especially in recent years, transgender issues have surged in the United States, gaining widespread attention.

Ophelia mentioned that Hydra has related industries and recently opened several hospitals. They're secretly capitalizing on the trend and stirring public opinion.

This shows the massive profits involved.

Globally, there are many mutants. Surely, they can find one or two transgender mutants, right? There are also many black mutants.

If one buff isn't enough, add more: vegetarians, environmentalists, transgender individuals, obesity advocates, AIDS patients, and LGBTQ+ representation. Focus on integration, freedom, and diversity.

What? You say I'm not human because I'm a mutant? That's discrimination! Naked discrimination! It goes against the freedom of the United States!

We're humans too. We can marry ordinary people and have children who can reproduce. Why say we're not humans?

Is it discrimination just because I have special abilities?

"If needed, we can add these groups to the 'Super Seven' or place representatives in every state or city."

"We must unite all possible groups and integrate ourselves into the masses to gain more supporters."

"Celebrity packaging and highlighting struggles can happen simultaneously."

"Though mutants are few, many live difficult lives. If we publicize this, sympathetic people will speak up for us."

Hearing this, Charles and Jean had to admit Norin's ideas were unconventional, far beyond normal thinking.

It seemed unreliable, but upon closer thought, it felt... feasible.

It might not solve mutants' problems, but it could make more people see their struggles and sympathize.

"I refuse to believe no forces covet mutant powers. Like the group that captured me, they must be studying mutants."

"With determination, we can find evidence of forces capturing mutants for inhumane experiments."

"Then, we'll spread this information and let the world know their suffering."

For a country that prides itself on democracy and freedom, playing the victim is a traditional skill—and it often pays off.

When it comes to competing for sympathy, mutants fear no one.

No matter how bad it gets, you'll find plenty of suffering.

"But... what if those in power block this from spreading?" Jean asked the crucial question.

Even in this universe, U.S. media isn't free. There are always people pulling strings behind the scenes, controlling the narrative.

If they don't agree, it won't spread widely.

"That's why I said we need power. We need money." Norin's eyes gleamed. All he needed was a feather fan and a scarf to complete the image of a strategist.

"Don't forget the true nature of this country."

"Capital comes first."

"To change this environment, we need capital to break their blockade."

"Publicity and packaging require capital."

"Uniting mutants and other marginalized groups requires capital."

"Otherwise, why would they speak up for us?"

"There's an old saying: People hustle for profit, and the world revolves around it."

"Most people chase one thing: profit."

"Freedom? Democracy? That's nonsense! Only when you've got nothing better to do do you pursue freedom—sometimes to the point of suicide. But most people never reach that level."

Norin's words were crude. Charles thought them over and felt they were both wrong and oddly sensible.

As a member of this society, he knew some of this firsthand.

Capital is the best tool without resorting to large-scale mind control.

Yet Norin hadn't mentioned the most crucial thing: power, strength.
