Chapter 47
One morning, Misha suddenly muttered while we were in bed.
“I think I have too few spells.”
“Huh? Isn’t that not the case?”
I can’t use magic at all, so I admire anyone who can use even a few spells.
“No, it is. My magic is overly specialized in healing, and then I can only use some transformation magic. I don’t even have any attack spells.”
Well, that’s probably due to her profession.
She’s probably more of a cleric than a mage.
“So, I’m thinking of studying magic. If I have attack spells, I can help you better,” Misha said.
“By studying, do you mean buying magical tomes?”
We’ve amassed quite a fortune from fighting deep underground, so we can afford even expensive magical tomes.
“That’s one way, but it feels inefficient. I was thinking it might be good to apprentice under a mage.”
“Apprenticeship, huh… That’s fine, but there’s something that worries me.”
“What’s worrying you?”
Misha tilted her head, not understanding what I was talking about.
“If it’s a male mage, well… Misha is cute, so I’m worried he might make advances on you.”
I believe there’s zero chance of Misha changing her mind, but there’s a high risk of someone else taking an interest in her.
“And if he’s teaching you magic, it’ll be one-on-one…”
“Master, you’re so worried about me,” Misha said, hugging me with a smile.
Misha is a cat, so she’s affectionate even in the morning.
“Of course I’m worried… It’s only natural.”
“That ‘natural’ makes me happy!”
In the end, we were lovey-dovey until Lena prepared breakfast that morning.

That day, Misha went around the guild and magic shops.
The reason was to find a suitable mage for her apprenticeship.
“The conditions are: female, specializes in attack magic, has a kind personality, and prefers cats over dogs. Is there anyone like that?”
There are adventurers in the guild who can use magic, so some information was available.
As a result, a young female mage who is often summoned by the kingdom was recommended by a mage at the guild.
“Her name is Hanna. She’s quite skilled among female mages but seldom takes apprentices. It would be good if you had a letter of recommendation from Keiji.”
“Why would my recommendation be effective?”
“Because you’re an A-rank adventurer,” Misha said.
The mage nodded. “That’s right.”
“I see, being an A-rank adventurer has quite some value.”
“Then, come with me on the first day, Master. I want to be with you anyway.”
Being asked like that, I couldn’t refuse. Besides, I can’t say there’s no danger when Misha goes out alone, so I agreed.
Hanna’s house was on the outskirts of town.
“Not a trash house, but there’s quite a lot of junk…”
The yard was filled with things I couldn’t tell were artifacts or just garbage.
But in a way, it felt like a mage’s house.
When we knocked on the door, a young woman with messy hair and a sleepy face opened it. She was wearing a black robe, so this must be Hanna.
“What is it? I was drinking until dawn, so I’m sleep-deprived…”
Quite the slacker…
“I’m Misha. Please take me as your apprentice,” Misha said, bowing her head.
I handed over the letter of recommendation.
“Oh, a member of an A-rank adventurer’s party, huh? Alright… Fine. There’s a wasteland over there, let’s try some wide-range attack magic.”
She accepted the apprenticeship quite easily, which was good.
“Ah, can I also observe? As an A-rank adventurer, I want to broaden my horizons…”
“Sure, it doesn’t hurt,” Hanna said.
So, I ended up watching Misha’s special training.
Hanna swiftly thrust her rod forward.
“Here you go.”
A roaring flame burst out in front of her.
Wow, that’s some power.
“This kind of fire magic is the most common. The knack is different from healing magic, but it’s not impossible to do. Let me teach you the trick.”
“Please do,” Misha said.
The two began whispering and talking face to face.
“Well, practice makes perfect. Try it out,” Hanna said a few minutes later, loud enough for me to hear.
“Magic learning seems pretty casual…”
I thought it would be more esoteric, but it felt lax from the moment they said it was okay to observe.
“Attack magic is popular. It’s not something to hide,” Hanna explained.
True, fire magic is pretty basic.
Misha borrowed a rod and gripped it tightly.
Now, it’s time for her to take on the challenge.
