A week had passed since Veradonna became our household servant.
We had gotten used to life with her, but being the demanding creatures we are, we had some new desires. While the three of us were diving into a dungeon, we talked about Veradonna.
“I don’t know if it’s because Lena was her predecessor, but I wish she would smile a bit,” Misha said.
Lena nodded in agreement. “Yeah, she’s always so stern, like a knight on duty. It makes the atmosphere tense. Maybe that’s just how her face is.”
Well, it might be exceptional that Lena doesn’t speak like a traditional maid, but it’s true that Veradonna gives off a cold impression.
“I wish she would smile more naturally. Definitely not a smile while holding a knife,” I added.

Then their voices became inaudible. Either they had all lowered their voices, or they had stopped talking altogether.
After a while, the three came out of the bath.
Veradonna met my eyes, bowed her head, and walked away, still expressionless.
Misha and Lena, on the other hand, looked extremely awkward.
“So, did you find out Veradonna’s secret?” I asked.
“I can’t tell you,” Misha replied. What?
“I know when she’ll show her natural expression, but I can’t say when that will be,” she added.

“I also follow Misha,” Lena agreed.
“Come on, what did you guys talk about?”
Misha and Lena looked at each other. Was it really that bad?
“Fine, I’ll put it vaguely,” Misha conceded.
“Please do.”
Misha whispered into my ear, “She becomes her true self only when she’s doing… intimate things.”
