Chapter 287 - Beauty Saves Beauty
The elite class members looked at this human who could drive a mechanical vehicle and speak, confirming that he was indeed different. The strange humanoid creatures seemed unable to speak, only able to growl.
This human’s eyes showed gratitude, curiosity, wariness, and other complex emotions, whereas the strange humanoid creatures’ eyes only displayed naked hunger.
At that moment, four more people got out of the car—three men and one woman, all relatively young. These individuals were clean and had clear faces, completely different from the strange humanoid creatures.
Ruo Manni glanced at the woman inside the car. The woman appeared to be unconscious, lying motionless in her seat.
These young people were holding kitchen knives, fruit knives, and other such weapons, but only one young man had a handgun.
However, it was likely that the gun had no bullets left, otherwise, there would have been gunshots during the earlier danger.
“Is the woman in the car named Wang Miaomiao?” Ruo Manni asked.
“Ah, do you know Wang Miaomiao?” The young man with the gun asked, slightly guarded.
However, he noticed that when this black-haired girl spoke, the foreign people behind her looked horrified.
The girl obviously looked like she was from China, so it wasn’t surprising that she could speak the Chinese language, but why were these foreigners so surprised?
“Is she seriously injured?” Ruo Manni asked.
“She was bitten by a zombie. Although she’s a mutant, she was severely injured, and now she’s running a fever,” the young man with the gun said, visibly upset.
“With Wang Miaomiao’s current condition, there’s almost certainly only one outcome. If you put her with us, once she turns into a zombie, we will be in danger,” the oldest man among them said unhappily.
The young man holding the gun gritted his teeth, “Who is responsible for Miaomiao’s injury?”
“Let me take a look,” Ruo Manni said, uninterested in their argument. She walked towards the back seat of the car.
Hebrew Adam silently followed behind her, ready to protect her if anything dangerous happened.
Ruo Manni not only knew the written language of this world but could also speak it fluently, as if she used it regularly. Did she learn this language on Topaz Star too?
Wang Miaomiao, unconscious in the back of the car, was gently picked up by Ruo Manni. The young man with the gun immediately moved to approach, but he was stopped by Tamaki Kazia.
“What are you doing?” the young man asked anxiously.
Ruo Manni glanced at him, “Don’t make a noise, just treat her.”
When the car flipped earlier, Ruo Manni had “seen” that the young man with the gun had been tightly holding onto Wang Miaomiao, which was why she hadn’t suffered further injuries during the crash while still unconscious.
But now, holding her in her arms, Ruo Manni could feel how unnervingly hot her body was.
Ruo Manni looked at Sheila, and Sheila immediately understood. She walked over and used a device to scan Wang Miaomiao’s entire body.
“This woman has a fractured left leg, but the most serious injury is on her shoulder. It looks like she was bitten and a large chunk was torn off. The thing that bit her carried a virus, and the virus is now invading her body, causing her to run an abnormal fever. At this rate, in one minute, the virus will have completely invaded her body.” Sheila, who had specialized in medical training, understood more than the others.
“Will it work if we give her the healing potion and the antidote?” Ruo Manni asked anxiously after hearing that there was only one minute left to save her.
“The physical fitness of humans in this world is probably much weaker than ours. We can’t give her the regular dosage. Let’s try giving her half of the antidote first. The injury isn’t the most critical issue—it’s the virus that is the biggest threat to her,” Sheila suggested uncertainly.
Sheila wasn’t sure about the physical condition of humans in this world, but if they didn’t act quickly, it might be too late to save her. There was no time for tests—they could only try.
Hearing Sheila’s words, Ruo Manni immediately took out the antidote and gave Wang Miaomiao half a dose.
“What did you give her?”
The young man holding the gun was very anxious when he saw Ruo Manni feed Miaomiao something without asking for his permission. However, Ruo Manni didn’t say anything, and since her companions weren’t allowing him to approach, he couldn’t move.
“Liu Yang, don’t worry. These people saved us. They wouldn’t be saving us just to harm us. Besides, from what that lady said, she knows Miaomiao, so there’s no way she would harm her for no reason,” a woman’s voice said gently.
Liu Yang gave the woman who spoke a disgusted look. This time, he saw through these people, so he didn’t bother responding to her and kept anxiously watching them.
Less than ten seconds after half of the potion was administered, pain began to show on Wang Miaomiao’s face. Her body started trembling, and slowly, her face and neck turned red. Her shaking intensified, and she groaned, but she still didn’t wake up from her unconscious state.
“What did you do to Miaomiao? Let go of me, let me through!” The young man named Liu Yang was extremely anxious.
Ruo Manni turned to look at Liu Yang, whose face showed genuine concern. She said to him, “I gave her the antidote. The process of detoxification can be painful, but it’s not life-threatening.”
At this moment, Wang Miaomiao’s body trembled even more violently, and she let out pained groans. However, the wound on her shoulder began to ooze dark red liquid. Ruo Manni tilted Wang Miaomiao’s body slightly, letting the black blood drip onto the ground.
Ruo Manni deliberately positioned Wang Miaomiao in such a way that Liu Yang could see the black blood seeping from her wound. Seeing this, Liu Yang stopped struggling and nervously stared at the wound on Wang Miaomiao’s shoulder.
After about a minute, the dark liquid from the wound gradually decreased and turned into fresh red blood. At this point, Wang Miaomiao’s body stopped trembling. Though still unconscious, her face showed a look of comfort.
Sheila used the medical scanner to check Wang Miaomiao again, then looked at the data and said, “Her temperature has returned to normal. She can now take the healing potion. However, for the fractured thigh, a treatment device will be needed.”
Ruo Manni nodded. She knew what to do next, even without Sheila’s suggestion.
Ruo Manni then gave Wang Miaomiao half a bottle of healing potion. Sheila took out a spray and sprayed it on Wang Miaomiao’s shoulder wound.
Liu Yang and his companions watched as the liquid sprayed onto Wang Miaomiao’s wound, quickly forming a thin white membrane that covered her shoulder. The bleeding stopped immediately.
“What is this? It’s even better than a bandage,” someone exclaimed.
“It’s definitely not a medical product from our country. These people must be foreigners,” someone else said.
Seeing that Wang Miaomiao’s crisis was averted, but with her thigh still broken, they needed to find a place to apply a treatment device to her.
At this moment, the people from the four cars that had fled ahead walked over.
“Thank you for saving us, but this is not a place to stay for long. A horde of zombies is coming, we need to leave quickly.” The middle-aged man, who was clearly the leader, spoke up.
