Chapter 78: Had A Talisman
Yu Tian observed the three sect masters surrounding them.
Well, he had expected things to turn out like this. Besides, if he was just a lamb who got saved, he wouldn't have the upper hand in the upcoming negotiations.
He released his aura, and Xueling did the same, easily pushing back against the auras of the sect masters.
"This is..." Yun Shuiruo was shocked. She had seen that last move from Yu Tian, but she hadn't expected him to actually be this strong. And the girl wasn't so bad either.
Duan Jianming began reaching for his sword. But before he could draw it, he felt a hand over his arm. Yu Tian stood before him, smiling sweetly. "Isn't it better to just talk peacefully? Why resort to such means?" he asked before letting go of the Sword Saint's hand.
He then turned around, and Xueling followed.
"You guys follow me," she said.
Yun Shuiruo gritted her teeth before finally giving up and deciding to follow.
"Brother Jianming?" Lin Changfeng asked, looking at the Sword Saint.
Jianming released the hilt of his sword, staring at his hand. He sighed. "It seems we're getting old," he said before following. Lin Changfeng did the same.
Liu Meihua walked into the main hall, carrying some drinks.
At the front, Sect Master Xueling sat with Yu Tian standing beside her. The two of them were all smiles. On the other hand, the three sect masters sat with angry expressions. Although no one spoke, one could feel the tense aura in the room.
She placed the drinks and left quickly. She would die if she stayed there any longer.
After Liu Meihua left, the two parties remained silent for a long time before Xueling finally broke the silence. "What brings the three sect masters to my humble sect?" she asked.
"Don't act like you don't know," Changfeng shouted angrily.
"Whatever do you mean?" Xueling asked.
Changfeng clenched his fists in anger.
"Alright, it has already happened. It's our fault for not giving Miss Xueling face in the first place," Yun Shuiruo spoke. She then got up. "Sect Master Xueling, please have my bow," she said and bowed.
She then glanced at her companions.
The Sword Saint sighed before getting up and bowing too. "Please have my bow."
Changfeng was angry, but he also did the same. "Please have my bow," he said, though his expression still showed some resistance.
Yu Tian was pleased to see this. It seemed he had underestimated this Miss Yun. She had figured out that they were already in trouble and decided to make friends instead of two enemies. Well, since they showed such sincerity, he would take a little pity on them.
He glanced at Xueling, and she understood.
She quickly rose. "We are all sect masters. Why are you bowing to me? I won't know what to do when you do this," she said.
They looked at her. She was already putting herself on the same level as them. Well, she had the strength to back it up, so there was nothing they could do.
"It's our fault for not coming to visit Sect Master Xueling sooner. We hope you don't take this matter to heart," Shuiruo said.
"It's alright. We are all neighbors with a common enemy, so we should get along," Xueling said. "Come on, let's all sit and have some tea," she added.
Shuiruo and the others sat back down, and Xueling did the same.
Shuiruo thought to herself that they had been the ones to bow first, so they were probably going to get the shorter end of the stick. Even so, the other party had quickly accepted their apology, meaning they didn't really want to be enemies. Since that's the case, they won't push them too much as they're all in the same situation.
…
After calming down, the two groups had some tea and talked.
They didn't talk about the recent situation though. After all, delving into it would mean that someone would have to take blame for what had happened, which wouldn't be good at the moment.
As they talked, Shuiruo glanced at Yu Tian, who remained silent beside Xueling. She thought to herself that usually, they wouldn't mind getting rid of such scheming brats. After all, they were just two Golden Core cultivators. Their sects had many such cultivators and could afford losing one or two.
But the reason she chose peace over hostility was mostly because these two were different. For starters, this girl could match a sect master like them in power. But what surprised her even more was Yu Tian. From the little power he had shown before, she could feel that he was definitely stronger than them. Having such an expert on their side, especially after today's loss, would definitely be a plus.
"Sect Master Xueling, do you have a way to deal with the Dark Moon Hall?" Shuiruo asked.
"The Dark Moon Hall's ancestor is quite strong and is suspected to have broken through to the Nascent Soul realm," she began.
"That strong?" Xueling was surprised by this. She glanced at Yu Tian, and he nodded.
"If he's that strong, then how come he has never taken over your sects? Could it be..."
But before she could finish, Shuiruo interrupted. "Sect Master Xueling misunderstood. We don't have Nascent Soul realm experts in our sects," she said. "But I have... had a sixth-grade talisman that can harm a Nascent Soul realm expert, so that's why he never openly attacked," she said.
Xueling nodded. She thought to herself that that made sense. If the three sects' Golden Core realm experts surrounded him and even used such a talisman, even the Nascent Soul realm ancestor would experience some trouble.
"Wait, had?" She suddenly realized what Shuiruo had said.
"That's right..." Shuiruo said. She then glanced at Yu Tian to the side. "It's what I used earlier," she added.
Xueling maintained her expression, though internally, she was panicking.
Didn't this mean that the Dark Moon Hall's ancestor could attack at any moment now? Wasn't this really bad? Even if he would attack just the three sects and not their Snow Heaven Sect, once he took them over, wouldn't he do the same to their Snow Heaven Sect?
