Calculating My Way To Immortality

Chapter 77: Dog Ancestor [PART 2]

"You brats, I gave you a chance to back down, yet you didn't take it? Do you regret it now?" the dog ancestor asked.

Xueling looked at Yu Tian, who fell beside her, bleeding from his nose. He looked up at the dog ancestor above, who wore a smug expression.

Yu Tian raised his hand.

"I... I... I have no regrets," he said before 'dying.'

"Yu Tian, nooooo!" Xueling screamed.

Yu Tian, who was lying next to her, thought to himself that her acting was quite good.

Almost ten percent of his.

Her expression hardened. "How dare you?" she shouted, gathering energy on her sword. Even the area around them started trembling slightly due to the vibrations spreading from her to the ambient qi around them. "I will not let you get away with this!" she roared as she charged at him.

The dog ancestor wondered how things had gotten to this point. He just wanted to recruit them. How did he end up killing the husband? He looked at his hand. He had definitely held back. How was he able to kill him? Had he gotten stronger without realizing it?

"Damn you, dog ancestor!" Xueling shouted as she made her attack.

The dog ancestor's expression grew angry. "I told you to stop calling me that!" he shouted as he threw a punch, easily connecting with her lower abdomen, making her drop her sword and get thrown back.

She crashed into the ground, creating a crater.

Coughing blood, she struggled to her feet, her legs trembling beneath her. "I won't... let you get away with this," she gasped, wiping the blood from her mouth.

The dog ancestor frowned. "Stay down. You've already lost."

But Xueling refused. She retrieved her sword using the flying sword method and charged again, her movements slower but filled with determination.

"For Yu Tian!" she screamed.

He swatted her aside with a backhanded strike, sending her tumbling across the courtyard. She slammed into a stone pillar, which cracked from the impact. Still, she rose again, swaying but defiant.

The dog ancestor was genuinely impressed now. Her endurance was remarkable. Could she possess some sort of special physique? Most cultivators at her level would have passed out by now, yet here she was, standing once more.

"You have impressive will," he admitted. "But will alone isn't enough to close the gap in power."

Xueling spat blood and glared at him. "Yu Tian…I will definitely avenge you!" She lunged forward again, her sword aimed at his throat.

He caught the blade with his bare hand and kicked her in the chest, sending her flying backward. She hit the ground hard, rolling several times before coming to a stop.

This time, she crashed right next to Yu Tian's 'corpse'.

Yu Tian then began twitching, and she looked at him in surprise. "Could it be... that you're still alive?"

Even the dog ancestor was surprised by this. He wondered if the husband was also like the wife.

Yu Tian opened his eyes and slowly dragged himself up. Xueling tried to stop him, but she was unable to get up. He patted her head. "Leave everything to me," he said.

He then looked at the dog ancestor in anger. "Damn you, dog ancestor! I will slaughter you and your nine generations!" he shouted.

"Fuck! Even if you have special physiques, why keep insulting me? This time, I'll make sure you die!" the dog ancestor shouted as he charged toward Yu Tian, who seemed unable to move, standing frozen.

As he was about to strike, he noticed the arrival of three powerful presences. He recognized them as the members of the righteous faction. He saw the desperation in their faces as they charged toward him, screaming for him to stop.

He wondered if these kids actually had some value to the righteous sects for them to all come here. He smiled widely. Well, since they didn't seem willing to stop insulting him, he would get rid of them. This was a win-win, as he was getting rid of something the righteous sects were willing to show such desperate expressions for.

As they charged toward him, he increased his speed even more.

At this moment, Yu Tian was just an instant away from having his head cut clean off when he smiled. The dog ancestor was surprised by this, but he dismissed it. He was already this close. He pushed his sword forward, ready to cut down Yu Tian's head.

But before he could, he felt his entire thought process come to a halt.

"Huh?" he wondered as he suddenly couldn't feel himself anymore. It was a strange feeling.

Yu Tian observed him. There was now a hole going through his head. Even so, the momentum still remained, meaning he was about to cut his head clean off even after he had died.

"The show is over," Yu Tian thought, using two fingers to catch the blade before shattering it. He then pushed the dog ancestor, his body falling to the ground.

In that instant, the three sect masters arrived, surrounding him.

"Did you plan this?" Yun Shuiruo asked with an angry expression. She had been the one who had killed the dog ancestor, using one of her trump cards - a sixth grade talisman capable of harming a Nascent Soul Realm expert if used correctly.

"Is it over?" Xueling asked, getting up from her position, causing the sect masters to turn and look at her. She ignored their gazes and moved to stand next to Yu Tian.

The sect masters finally understood the situation. They had been tricked by these two. Now that they had dared to kill the Grand Elder of the Dark Moon Hall, the Dark Moon Hall would clearly not let this matter go. It was going to be an all-out war.

"You brats, do you know what you have done?" Duan Jianming asked. "I don't care what scheme you are playing, but if you don't give us a reasonable explanation, don't expect us to let you off easily," he added, letting off his overwhelming aura.

The other sect masters did the same, forcing their auras down on the two.

...

A/N: I kinda liked the dog ancestor :(
