Chapter 297 - Celestial Avatar
"Do you know what the hierarchy of dieties is?" Gaia asked
"Yeah. Demigod, God, Titan, then Primordal." Zion answered.
"Good, but divine Apostles also fall under this category. In fact, there is a type of apostle for each type of god."
Zion was stunned. "There is? How come I didn't know this?"
"That's because you don't live in a world where the hierarchy is forced. Not to mention, in the history of this world, there have only been two demigods: you and that dragon woman Circe." Gaia explained
"So, I can share my power with people?" If that were the case, then he would share it with all of his family, allowing them to gain even more power and live longer.
They can already live for thousands of years, but this could make them live longer, something that he would never pass up.
"Yes, you can. For a demigod, they have a Holy Herald. Gods have Divine Apostles, Titans have a Heavenly Harbinger, and Primordials have a Celestial Avatar. Each of them is in the category of gods. On a lower scale, though."
Zion felt a knot in his throat, making it hard to swallow. "I'm guessing that there are tons of them?"
"Oh, millions upon millions of them. You don't have to worry about Heralds or Apostles, but Harbingers and Avatars, you do. They can travel through space, and their job is to find worlds for their masters to take over. If the world is primitive, they act as a messenger and have the people convert to their teachings. If the world is advanced, then they either give them the opinion to submit, or do it forcefully."
"Is one of them coming here?" He asked
Gaia shrugged. "Dunno, but not all of the primordial or titans like me. They also know that I can't protect every one of my planets. I protect my favorite ones and try to help out the others that I cant, but I don't stress over my lost planets."
"So why are you here?"
"Because this is one of my favorite planets. You broke the barrier, so you're going to fix it. That's the least you can do."
"Wait, wait, wait! I didn't do it on purpose! That was Luminera's fault! I was summoned here without my will." Zion had no intention of fighting beings who follow higher-level deities. He would be a fool to even think he could stand next to them as an equal.
"You have no choice in this matter." Gaia snapped her fingers, and the oath he made with Luminera shattered, being replaced by a new one, one formed from Gaia's power. Not only that, but she severed his connection to Willow, since it was her power that was killing him.
"Hold up! I'll die if you have me face them! You just explained to me who they are and how powerful they are. I'm a demigod! I cant fight against them."
Gaia looked at Zion and couldn't help but laugh. He was calling himself a demigod, but couldn't even feel the divine power in his own body.
"Child, you're not a demigod anymore, but a full god. Though your process is a lot different than normal." She said as she peeked into his body.
"What? What do you mean? I'm a god? That doesn't make any sense!"
"Have you been in contact with the Will of your world? Has it injected its power into you?" She asked
Zion nodded.
"So you're on the path to godhood."
"Yeah, after 200 years!" He shouted.
"No, no, you're a god right now. Ohh, I see what's going on. Your body is rejecting godhood because you tapped into its power prematurely. Your body is probably dying as we speak. I'm surprised you're even alive."
Zion was stunned by her words. He was a god and was dying. He didn't know what any of that meant.
"C-Can you explain?" He asked
"Gods can be created or born. You know this, right?"
"Yes." Zion nodded.
"Good. Well, in your case, you were a mortal turned god. Like me." She smiled
"L-Like you? You were a mortal?" Zion couldn't help but admire Gaia after hearing that. Starting from a mortal and becoming a primordial was no easy feat, and to hear that she's one of those few beings made him respect her to the fullest.
"That's right. I came from a primitive world where fire was looked at as a divine being. Although I was a woman, I loved hunting and fighting. Eventually, I became the strongest warrior in my village. A demigod descended onto my world. They had always been there, but decided to make their presence known at that time.
By the way, not all born gods start off as gods. They are sometimes demigods first. Anyway, the demigod showed us mana and taught us how to harness its power. Doing what I do best, I learned, understood, and mastered the energy, reaching the peak of mana, what you call Mystic. After that, the demigoddess made me her herald, and I kept gaining power. After that, the demigod became a god, and I became a Divine apostle.
Unfortunately, my world was overrun by a titan who absorbed my god's essence and heavenly realm. Seeing as I was useful, he made me his Harbinger, and I worked for him for thousands of years. After that, he became a primordial, and I was promoted to a Celestial Avatar.
Then, the universal war happened, killing tons of dieties of all kinds and the lives of mortals. After that, I decided to ascend to godhood and wouldn't work for anyone anymore. I became a demigod, then god, then titan, and eventually primordial. Now, here I am today, over 10 eons later."
"Cool infodump backstory, but what was the point of that?" Zion asked
"My point was that I never rushed my godhood, nor did I tap into its power prematurely. I let everything happen naturally, unlike you. You need to grow into your own god with your own power, not continue to use the power of your Apostle state. So, in order to fix this problem, you have to naturally allow for your body to ascend to godhood. But to do that, you will need the power of a higher being, such as myself."
Now Zion knew what was happening. He would already have to work for her because he broke the barrier, but even if he declined, he would still have to if he wanted to live. She had him wrapped around his finger.
"I understand." He had no choice but to accept.
"I'm glad you understand the position you're in." She tapped his forehead, releasing her energy inside him.
"You'll wake up soon. Within a few hours or days, I don't know. Finish the things you have left to do in this world, then meet me once you're done so you can get started on your new mission."
The space around him collapsed, and Zion's mind was sent back to his body.
