Blade of the Goddess

Chapter 296 - Primordial Gaia

Darkness surrounded Zion as he drifted in an unfamiliar void. His mind was awake, but he couldn't move his astral body. Everything was silent, devoid of life, and felt empty. He couldn't even feel any type of energy in the space, just emptiness.

He tried to extend his senses to encompass the void, but nothing worked. He was as powerless as a newborn baby.

'What's going on? Where the fuck am I? The last thing I remember was my energy going wild, then...nothing. Come on, move, you stupid astral body!'

Still, after focusing on himself, he couldn't move, so he shifted his focus.

'If I can't move or even sense anything here, I'll just try to go back into my real body.'

"That wont work." A voice boomed

'What the fuck was that?! Zion tried to look around, but his head was stuck in place. Only his eyes were able to move from side to side, but even then, he still couldn't see everything around him.

"Don't be so surprised, child. I'm sure you're used to meeting beings this way." The voice spoke once more, calmer and more feminine this time.

'Who are you?!' Zion thought. Since he couldn't speak, he could only think, and since the being was clearly reading his mind, they should be able to communicate.

"Oh? Did she not tell you who I am? Well, that makes sense. I never truly introduced myself, even back then."

'The hell are you talking about?'

Suddenly, a massive silhouette of a woman appeared in the void, its stature so massive that it would dwarf even the largest of supermassive stars or blackholes. But that wasn't all. Zion knew she was powerful; he could feel the sheer pressure coming from the being, but he couldn't sense her. To his senses, she was as weak as a stray cat, but he knew she was astronomically more powerful than he was.

"You're pretty cute, with that nervous expression of yours." She chuckled.

'Can you blame me? You're fucking massive!'

"Hmm? Oh, I forgot you mortals arent used to scale. Even looking at your star makes you guys feel puny." She shrank down to the size of a normal human and snapped her fingers, allowing Zion to move.

"I can move? Thank god! Being like that was so uncomfortable." He stretched his body and cracked his neck, even though he was in his astral form and didn't have a physical body. It was just a habit.

He looked at the woman whom he could see clearly now. She was still tall, around seven feet, and had the most voluminous body he had ever seen. Her skin was green, and her hair was brown with hints of white. She had yellow eyes and wore a brown toga with leaf decorations and designs.

"Hello, my child." The woman smiled.

"Hello, beautiful. The name's Zion. And you are?" He flirted.

She chuckled, holding her hand over her mouth. "I'm Gaia, a Primordial, one of the few in the universe."

The moment Zion was about to shoot his shot, he zeroed in on a singular word, "Primordial."

'W-What...The...Fuck! A primordial? Like the most powerful gods in the universe? One of them is in front of me? Fuck! I fucked up! I just flirted with a primordial. I'm so fucking dead!'

"Fufufu, you're so cute. Don't worry, I'm not going to kill you. In fact, I like the way you speak to me. It makes me feel normal. Too many people worship and bow down to me. While I do enjoy that, I also like feeling normal once in a while." She smiled

"U-Um, what can I do for you?! I'm sure a little demigod such as myself isn't worth your time." Even though she said he could talk to her normally, he was too uncomfortable to do so.

"Actually, you are worth my time. It's not every day that a soul from my world gets reincarnated into another one of my worlds. Then you go and destroy the barrier I placed around your little solar system, well, I guess it was that brat's fault, but still." Gaia started ranting.

"Wait? You called me your child and said I'm from your old world? Do you mean Earth?" Zion asked

Gaia eyed Zion with a confused expression. "Earth? The fuck is Earth? You mean the element?"

'What? She doesn't know about Earth? Wait, no! Our planet has a proper name, but we never call it that.'

"Does Terra ring a bell?" He asked

"Ahh! Yes, that's the name I knew it as. They called me "Terra Mater". I loved the people of that world. They were really funny and clung to me like their mother." She smiled

"Well, it's in the name, I guess. But did you create that world?" Zion asked

"That's right. I've created many worlds and solar systems, including the one you're originally from and the one you're currently in. However, you're the first person who crossed over to one of them who kept their memories. I assume this was Luminera's doing?"

Zion nodded in confirmation.

"I see. Well, you might have doomed the world." She said plainly with no shred of emotion.

"What?! What are you talking about? I'm saving the world. Luminera and Erebosa were overthrown by their kids, so she asked me to help. I did, and we almost beat them!" Zion was sure that everyone would be able to kill their opponent. Hell, if he could kill Arion, then they definitely could have killed the other gods. How was he dooming the world?

"What? No, not that. Did Luminera ever tell you that I placed a barrier around the world to prevent Titans and Primordials from invading it?"

Zion nodded. "She told me this when I became a demigod."

"Great. This makes things easier. So, you see, nothing could pass through my barrier except for my own creations. You arent the first time Luminera pulled from the reincarnation cycle, which is illegal, by the way. But what she probably didn't realize is that each soul she took belonged to the world she resides in. However, you came from one of my other worlds. Your soul wasn't native to this world. Because of that, you ended up breaking the barrier I put in place."

"But everything will be fine if Titans or primordial don't come, right? I mean, space is a massive place. There are over 2 trillion galaxies in the observable universe, with even more planets with life. What are the odds of one of them finding this world?" Zion wondered

"Oh, my sweet child. I love how naive you are."
