Assassin God: Rise of the Strongest Player

Chapter 40 : Clients

Getting a room for even a cheaper price was this woman was something Nash seriously considered at this moment.

He also had the option of checking out other agencies, but he wondered if there was still really a need for him to do that when this lady clearly made a good offer.

"If you're interested, then I can take you to go and see the place," she said, "...to know if you will like it."

Nash nodded in agreement and after a brief chat, they both stepped out of the office, heading outside.

The lady hailed down a taxi and Nash followed her into it and then they left.

The lady put her hand on his thigh and looked at him with the most cheerful smile he had seen all day.

"Don't worry about it too much," she said, appealing to his feelings. "I'm sure you will like the place. It's perfect for a student."

Nash glanced at the soft hand that sat comfortably on his thigh, and he subtly swallowed.

He felt a slight shiver and his thoughts rampaged for a millisecond as he wondered what this lady's true aim was.

'Is she a scammer?'

Nash couldn't help but come to such a conclusion.

He had never met this woman in his entire life, both past and present, so why was she being so generous and polite to a total stranger.

"I really appreciate that."

A short while after, she directed the taxi into a high-end residential setting.

Nash's eyes widened with surprise as he became more aware of his environment.

He never imagined himself coming here and honestly it was not what he was thinking.

Nash was already scared, thinking to himself if she was being honest about his $1000 rent monthly.

"Just right here," the lady said, bringing the taxi to a stop.

She paid and they alighted, and headed into the house.

Nash's mouth could not help but remain parted and his eyes constantly admiring the place.

It was beautiful.

They entered inside and he was even more stunned.

The house was perfectly furnished and thoroughly cleaned spotless.

Nash looked at the woman again in doubt.

A place like this would easily cost around $5000 to rent and she was going to give him at one-fifth of such price.

That was unbelievable to Nash really.

"Are you really going to give me this entire house for $1000?"

Nash had to ask.

He was going to make money from gaming and he knew it.

He also wanted to find a place with a good environment to live in but the conditions of this place was currently too expensive for him to afford.

"Hehehe," the woman laughed and shook her head. "Not the entire house, silly. My niece stays here too."

She sat down and dropped her heels, also keeping her bag beside her on the couch.

"I'm renting one of the rooms to you. I'm hardly here and so is she. Instead of allowing it for away, why not rent it out," she added with a shrug.

"Come with me, let me show you around the place."

Nash walked with her and they moved around, having him further discover that the place was even bigger than he thought at first.

There were three bedrooms in the house.

One for the lady's niece.

One for the lady, and finally, the one rented out to Nash.

"How come your niece stays with you?" Nash asked.

"It's a long story anyway," the lady replied, feeling no need to withdraw the information. "Her parents died in a car accident years back. I'm her guardian at the moment, that's why."

"I'm so sorry about that."

"No need to be."

She showed him more of the space before they were finally done.

"You can get the key from me whenever you are ready."

"Thank you, ma'am."

"I will expecting you," she said with a warm smile.

She hailed down another taxi for Nash and paid for him to be taken back to his school.

Right off the bat, she took a liking to Nash, or more so, to his personality and even Nash did not understand why.

From their little interaction, Nash realised that money was not the lady's problem at all, because he was wondering why she wouldn't rent out such a good place at a higher price.

Nash was happy with how things turned out.

With such a fancy space, he would move in soon but he wanted to make his payment first.

As much as the lady was kind to him, he didn't want to indebted to anybody in any way.

Nash went back to the dormitory and rested for an hour or two before grabbing his head gear.

[Welcome to Apex Online, Neon]

Novice Village #21, Apex Online

LadyFlame was busy setting up stall points to sell the items that they gathered from the raid his fellow fire mages helped him with.

A few people came to patronise her since she sold at a lesser price than the NPC stores in the village and while that had not been a problem since she started, today was going to be different.

As she bent down to arrange her items after selling to another player, LadyFlame noticed a shadow coming over her.

In a few seconds, the shadow grew and covered her completely.

LadyFlame, surprised, stopped what she was doing and raised her head.

She saw a group of people standing in front of her.

Leading the group was a young, red-haired man, who flashed a mischievous smirk at her.

These people each had red shawls around over their shoulders and chest.

LadyFlame did not think much about this, assuming that they were players who also wanted to patronise her.

Maybe they wanted to intimidate her with their numbers but that was not going to change the price of her item.

After all, she was already selling cheaper than the other stores around her.

"What items would you like to buy from me today, good sirs?" LadyFlame asked with a cheerful, hoping to attract them.

"Did you hear that, King Crimson?" one of them burst out cockilyz throwing his hand over the shoulders of the red-haired one in front of the rest.

The red-haired player, King Crimson, stood there. He was grinning at LadyFlame with his arms crossed over his chest.

"What do you mean buy?" King Crimson asked, his voice both threatening and calm.
