Assassin God: Rise of the Strongest Player

Chapter 41 : Vain Scarlet

Neon appeared at the entrance of the [Fiery Marsh] dungeon where he last logged out from.

He pulled out his friend list to text LadyFlame and find out what was going on with her.

Seeing the friends' interface, Nash was shocked.

LadyFlame had already sent him multiple messages, even sharing her location.

Reading just a few lines, Nash knew immediately that there were distress calls and sprinted towards the location she shared with him using [Dash].

In a little time, thanks to the sprint skill, Nash arrived at the scene of the trouble quickly.

He got there only to meet LadyFlame on the ground with the items she arranged for sale scattered all over the floor.

Nash turned red with anger and clenched his fist.

He tried to control so he doesn't escalate the matter into one of violence having noticed how many members of King Crimson's team were present.

That was one problem he had but that was not the major issue.

The greatest factor that stopped him from acting rashly was the possibility of the village guards interfering.

They were inside the novice village and the NPC guards were in-charge of making sure there was law and order in the village.

They were not just any kind of random NPCs.

The village guards were the strongest characters present in the village.

They were levels above the players at the moment and could kill all of them in a fight.

Nash ignored King Crimson and his group, heading over to LadyFlame to help her.

"Are you okay, Lady?" Nash asked, lifting her from the ground and helping her stand on her feet.

LadyFlame dusted her clothes as she narrated the ordeal to Nash.

"I set up this selling point to sell items and parts of the wolves that aren't important to you. Not so long again, these people came here to distribute my business, claiming that I have to give them my items…for free."

LadyFlame paused and looked at King Crimson spitefully. "Not just that, they wanted to force me into their guild, so I can slave away by helping them find good items. When I refused, they got violent.

Nash gave the group a sidelong glance, catching their expressions and seeing how unremorseful they were about the whole thing.

"They did not buy anything at all and won't allow other players to buy something," LadyFlame added.

"Just what kind of despicable guild are you?" Nash asked, his voice soaked in anger. "So much that you gang up on a woman."

King Crimson tilted his head and raised an eyebrow. "Huh? Who the fuck is this brat to question us? Do you know who we are?"

Nash stared right back at King Crimson.

"Who are you?"

King Crimson was surprised as if the question was a hammer slammed against his chest.

Nash knew who he was from his previous life but he was not going to put King Crimson on pedestal.

He wanted to hurt his pride for what they did to LadyFlame.

"We are Vain Scarlet!" King Crimson declared with arms spread out like the final villain of a movie. "The strongest guild in Apex Online!"

Nash shook his head as he laughed at them to scorn.

"Pfft! Strongest guild indeed."

He knew the guild, Vain Scarlet, and they were nothing but bullies.

They were not a very powerful guild but they were popular because of their bad reputation of always bullying weaker or solo players.

"You've got some nerves," King Crimson said, stepping forward.

He turned his head from side to side, observing the players around them, especially those who conceived the idea of making a purchase.

"If anybody buys anything from these two, then you are looking for trouble! Do that and you will have the Vain Scarlet guild to contend with!"

No one said anything, instead they turned away, pretending to be drawn to something else.

In truth, they wanted to buy things from LadyFlame.

After sampling the handful of instant life potions that Nash gave her to sell, the players couldn't find any recovery item like that anywhere in the Novice Village.

To not buy such good recovery potions from LadyFlame because King Crimson said so was going to be impossible and Nash could tell from the looks on their faces.

"Get down your high horse, man. I've never heard of a Vain Scarlet," Nash continued to add salt to injury, "and I can bet many people here have not either. You are stressing for nothing."

King Crimson was getting fed with Nash's mockery but at the same time, he also did not want to attack blindly since he was yet to notice any weaknesses around Nash.

'He's aware. As much as he pretends to try and draw me in, he's alert and ready to dodge at the last second,' King Crimson thought. 'Safe to assume that he's reliant or confident in his agility stats.'

"I'd advise you not to cause any troubles here," King Crimson said as he took yet another step forward.

The intent behind his walk made Nash adjust his stance to accommodate it.

"What's your deal, bro? I already told you I have no idea who or what Vain Scarlet. Dunno why you are hurt by that. Tch!"

Nash did not even show restraint as he went out in full force with bashing the name of the guild.

"But what would you expect? All you guys do is bully people after all. If that's how you operate, you really think people would respect you. Tsk! What a joke."

King Crimson couldn't take it anymore and walked towards Nash, holding him by the shoulder.

He was embarrassed by Nash's words and was about to lament when his cheeks suddenly felt hot.

Nash's palm had travelled speedily to his cheek, serving a hot slap to his face that shocked everyone present, especially other members of Vain Scarlet.

The more shocking thing about it was how King Crimson was pushed to the side by the force of the slap, so much that he staggered to keep his balance.
