Chapter 34 : Big Decision
Nash quickly shook off Eileen's compliment about being the attention of so many girls.
As they discussed, Eileen yawned and stretched her arms while standing from his desk.
"I'm glad you are okay, Nash," she said. "I will be going now. Be careful."
Nash gave her a reassuring nod.
Nash could see the glaring tiredness in her eyes.
Having experienced the stress of being in that class in his previous life, Nash understood how they were coping while also being under so much pressure from how much work they had to do.
"Bye," Eileen said, waving to him and Tobias.
"Bye, Senior Eileen," Tobias responded with a sheepish smile and flushed cheeks.
"Bye," Nash answered curtly as he turned to look at Tobias with a disappointed face.
Having time to himself once again, Nash could help but think about how he could not invest his 100% into playing Apex Online like the professional players.
Currently, it seemed like everybody was in the same range of abilities but sooner than later, the wheat would be separated from the chaff, and the differences between players would be more glaring.
In his previous life, Nash had joined Apex Online late. He played it part time since he planned on furthering his education into college.
However, this time around he felt a different way and he has been brooding on it for a while now.
Nash wanted to drop out and become a professional gamer, doing it full time as opposed to playing like it was a hobby.
With Null's help and the memories of his previous life that he had access to, Nash was very confident that he would make a living from himself by playing Apex Online.
Sadly, that was not a decision he could take only.
Nash needed to reach out to his family for their thoughts, guidance and approval if he hoped to do what he wanted.
It was an important matter and that was why he only kept it as a thought without taking any further action on it.

"First, Bella. Now, Senior Eileen is coming to see you and she was all smiles and giggles," Tobias teased Nash, making the latter feel a bit embarrassed.
"Stop it, dude. You are embarrassing me."
"Come on, tell me how you do it?" Tobias pestered him. "How did you pull a senior?"
"Relax, dude. I and Eileen are not dating or anything like that," Nash answered, clearing the air with Tobias, "I meant her in Apex Online and we are on the same team now."
Tobias laughed and tapped Nash on the arm. "You lucky bastard."
Nash raised his eyebrows.
He did not quite understand what Tobias meant by calling him lucky.
"Senior Eileen is a hottie," Tobias continued, expressing his down bad feelings. "If I knew she would pick the human race, maybe I would have done so too."
"Just to get a chance to team with her?" Nash asked, hoping that Tobias was actually joking.
Tobias nodded in affirmation, making Nash facepalm in disappointment.
"Seriously, dude?" Nash retorted. "Weren't you boasting the other day about how your dwarf race and earth magic is the best."
"Forget about that, Nash."
"You are down bad for her, Tobias."
"I don't see a problem with that."
Nash was indeed dumbfounded. 'Christ!'

The next day.
Nash was lying on his comfy bed, his eyes glued to the ceiling as he was lost in thought.
He felt helpless at the moment, lacking the courage to take the decision he wanted.
He turned on his bed from time to time.
All the while he thought about his choices, he also considered how his family would feel about him dropping out.
After a while, he sat up on the bed and dialled up his mother's contact.
He mustered courage to handle the matter and regardless of whatever the outcome will be, he would stomach it.
*Ring* *Ring*
Soon, his mom picked the call from the other end and there was a brief silence between them after the casual "hello".
Nash finally broke the ice and said everything he wanted to say over the next one hour, waiting afterwards for his mom to absorb and process it before replying.
"I've heard everything you said, my dear," his mom said, surprising Nash, who had expected her to lash out at him.
"Just do one thing for me," she requested.
"What's that, mom?"
"Think it over well enough, so you don't make a hasty decision," she advised her son. "Whatever you decide after that, I will support you."
"Okay mom."
Nash didn't even realise when he smiled like a baby.
He felt better and lighter at heart.
"I love you, mom!"
"I love you more, son. Please take care of yourself."
"I will."
The call ended.
Nash laid back down, happy to have gotten the consent he needed.
There was nothing to think about further as he already made his decision to quit school to become a full time gamer.
It was an all or none situation this time around but regardless of his choice, Nash knew he was still not ready to act on that decision.
He had some things he needed to settle.
First, he would have to vacate the dormitory and leave school.
Not just that, he would have to rent a house for himself when he leaves school and that would cost him an arm and a leg right now.
"I will have to settle for a one-bedroom apartment for now," he muttered to himself, considering a much cheaper alternative.
Nash exhaled loudly at the thought of it.
Moreover, he was still owing William money and he would have to settle that debt before doing anything for himself.
He had his goals listed in his head in order of priorities and the most urgent one, at the top of that mental list, was making money.
Nash needed money if he wanted to get these things done and the best way he knew to go about it was to farm coins inside the game.
