Assassin God: Rise of the Strongest Player

Chapter 32 : Field Encounter

If it were in his previous life, Nash would have expressed fear and concern for his safety but at this moment, he was in control of his emotions.

Nash was so calm that he was even surprised at himself.

Naturally, after having an entire life experience, he would have a better and stronger mindset than an average person.

Nash walked to where Greg and his goons were waiting for him and stopped as soon as Greg reached close to him.

Greg expressed a devilish grin, almost as if he was basking in the thought of severely punishing Nash for embarrassing him in Apex Online.

"Look what the cat dragged in?"

Nash stared right back at him and spoke firmly. "Can we get this over with already?"

Greg tilted his head and placed the baton on his shoulder while still grinning.

"Is that so?" he said. "Don't worry, I have enough time to spare for you today."

Nash did not bat an eyelid.

*Swoosh*

The sound of the baton swiftly swinging through the air triggered Nash's senses and he reflexively raised his hand to block it.

*Bam*

The baton landed with a great force but Nash did not take critical damage thanks to Null also overshadowing the attack with its unseen arm.

'This guy…' Nash thought, surprised at how quickly Greg sprung into action.

Wasting no time, Nash exploited this moment to retaliate as he sent a blow, reinforced with Null's power as well, to Greg's abdomen.

'What the—' Greg exclaimed in his mind as his head spun.

He felt a tremendous force buried into his stomach, enough to make him feel an overwhelming heat inside.

Greg spewed saliva and blood from his body as he was forced back a few steps from Nash's blow.

*Cough* *Cough*

Grabbing his belly, Greg coughed out a few times.

He couldn't fathom neither the pain he was feeling nor how Nash was able to inflict such misery on him.

"What the hell just happened?" Kai spat out, quickly rising to his feet from where he sat and watched.

The lackeys started to murmur among themselves and that was not a good sign for Gregory Barnes.

Greg, who was still bent forward from the pain, did not notice this.

He was more bothered with relieving himself that he failed to realise that Nash was already standing in front of him until he saw the latter's feet.

Greg lifted his face and looked at Nash who was looking down.

"On your knees," Nash commanded.

Greg almost popped a blood vessel in anger as he heard this.

A mere Nash—a brat who he sees as very much beneath him—is talking down at him.

Even worse, he was staring down at him.

"You bast—"

Greg was barely able to complete his words when he felt his legs buckle from an immense force that struck him from behind the knees.

Shocked, Greg fell on his knees.

Nash, on the other hand, pretended to have kicked Greg at the same time that he felt the forecast strike his leg, just to blend in with Null's attack.

"Greg!" Kai shouted and so did the other members of his group.

Kai and the others were shocked to their bone marrow at how Nash easily overpowered Greg.

It was like they were watching a movie soaked in plot armour.

There was no way they could believe what was playing out right in front of them.

Unfortunately, they didn't know about Null's existence and Nash's quick reflexes to blend his movements with Null's was effortless thanks to his training with the shadow.

Gregory was utterly surprised.

He could barely say a word as he remained frozen to a spot, kneeling before Nash like a subject to his king as the latter looked down on him with disgust on his face.

He tried to get him but he could not.

It was as if something held him in that kneeling posture and Greg did not understand what was going on, only attributing to a sense of fear within him.

'A-Am I afraid?' he thought, 'Of this fool?!'

Greg tried to overcome his weakness of mind and immediately he tried to struggle, Null released his shoulders, allowing him to overcome the pressure.

The young man soon believed that he had shaken off the cold sweat he had a second ago.

He quickly turned to the group behind him, who were still in shock of what they were seeing.

"What are you looking at?!" Greg barked at them as he extended an arm. "Give me you bat! Quick!"

"O-O-Okay!" one of the lackeys stuttered as he immediately threw the bat in his hand at Greg.

Greg caught it and turned, hoping to land a quick attack on Nash but before he could make a complete turn, he felt a hand slam heavily against his face, making saliva fly out.

His ear rang loudly, like he was slapped by two people.

Greg staggered backward, losing his grip on the bat as the weapon dropped to the ground.

Nash followed immediately with a knee to the abdomen and an elbow to the spine, dropping Greg flat on the ground and quite easily at that.

Kai covered his mouth in embarrassment.

"This is bad," he muttered, knowing full well what the news of this would do to their reputation, much worse to Gregory's image in the school.

Greg's group swallowed their saliva, muttering among themselves.

They couldn't intervene since Greg gave an explicit command to them not to try such.

In his words, "that bastard is all mine".

They couldn't understand how Nash was this strong, enough to easily overpower Gregory.

Was Nash pretending all this time?

If so, then why didn't he fight back against Zebadiah?

After all, he landed at the hospital following that encounter.

******

Nash took a few more steps to where Greg was lying down and crouched beside him.

He raised him by his hair and clicked his tongue while staring at him in the most demeaning way.

Greg's face was bruised and his pride was severely battered.

"Tsk!" Nash kissed his teeth in disappointment. "I will let you off with a warning this time. If you don't learn from this experience, you may not get a second chance."
