Chapter 29 : Closer Than You Think
Naturally, Nash cleared the [Fiery Marsh] dungeon much more easily this time around, especially with his newfound combo of [Stealth] and [Dash] as well as help from Null.
LadyFlame could only watch in daze as Nash swept past the fire creatures like it was nothing.
She couldn't fathom how someone that was still level 2 was this stronger, perhaps even stronger than a level 3 player.
She tried to study him but there was nothing special that Nash was doing and yet the damage of his attacks was that high.
Now that he had dealt with the final rock monster boss, it came down to sharing rewards.
Nash knew that this was an issue he would have to address if he hoped to form a guild and also to avoid internal conflicts, he needed to do it in a way that would satisfy everybody.
There were different types of reward distribution that existed in Apex Online but Nash chose the [Random Distribution Mode] and it was for a reason.
Any other mode would see that Eileen, or any support class teammate they would have in the future, would get little to nothing from the rewards.
[Sole Distribution Mode] was one of the modes of distribution and this granted the sole right of sharing rewards to one person in the group, which most times is the team leader.
The chosen person has control over all the items from the quest and whatever equipment he/she grants a person, that is what that person gets.
The second of the three modes was [Free For All Mode], otherwise called First Come, First Serve.
The rule backing the [Free For All Mode] is simple: whichever player picks an item first, keeps the item.
The [Random Distribution Mode], just like its name sounds, shares items at random without any regards to levels of hierarchy in the group.
The default setting was in [Free For All Mode] and Nash had left it like that since Eileen did not complain.
This was also possibly owed to the fact that they had not gotten any item that favours her class as a healer.
Now with a third member, he was forced to change it.
"Do you have any issue with us randomising the rewards?" Nash asked.
LadyFlame shook her head. "No."
Nash smiled.
The expression on LadyFlame's face intrigued him.
How she switched from the disappointed version of herself to the one that was staring at Nash with profound admiration was surprising to him.

As they left the dungeon, LadyFlame couldn't help but feel the need to make amends with Nash, even when the latter held no grudges towards her.
She hopped past Eileen and stood by Nash's side, walking beside him in matching steps. This made Eileen raise eyebrows.
Nash did not answer or acknowledge her presence for a few minutes into their walk.
Seeing how persistent she was with forcing herself into his face, Nash sighed and finally gave her a glance.
"What is it?"
Eileen stayed silent for a couple of seconds, searching for the right words.
"S-sorry about earlier," LadyFlame apologised, nervously scratching her cheek.
"I looked down on you but now, I've seen that I am wrong."
"It's okay. Don't sweat it."
"Really!" LadyFlame exclaimed cheerfully, almost as if she expected a different reaction from Nash.
Nash was not bothered about what LadyFlame thought of him or what she was currently thinking.
He knew he would easily clear the dungeon this time around, so it didn't matter to him if there were two or even three other people around him.
Nevertheless, having LadyFlame on board came under a certain condition which he had to accept and that was the [Dash] skill book.
LadyFlame kept her word and gave him the book, allowing Nash to learn the skill for a slot in his team.
Eileen and LadyFlame were lucky to be in his team, especially LadyFlame, who was shocked by the returns she received after the dungeon raid.
She had given out a skill book and in return, she made more coins than she valued the book at.
They walked out of the dungeon and parted ways.
Nash went ahead to sell the items that were useless to him for extra copper coins before he quit the game for the day.

(In the real world)
"Tch!" Hawkeye hissed angrily as he took off his headgear.
*Bang*
He clenched his fist and slammed his hand hard against the wall of his room.
A second later, he felt a sharp pain course through his nerves.
"Ouch!" he exclaimed in pain. "Fuck!"
Hawkeye, whose real life name was Gregory or Greg for short, was angry since his bounty was still open and no player had succeeded in completing it even after it's been up for a while now.
"What a bunch of losers!" he barked angrily. "Even for 200,000, no one could kill him and that guy is just a level 2 player. What the hell?"
Greg was about to hit the wall a second time but the memory of the pain he felt earlier played in his mind and he quickly refrained from such action.
Instead, he ground his teeth bitterly. "Bounty hunters, my ass! Fuck this shit!"
He quickly picked up his phone and went straight to a group chat of him and his lackeys.
[HAWKEYE: Any news yet? @all]
It didn't take long before he saw that Kai was typing, almost as if he was waiting for Greg's message to enter.
[Kai is typing…]
Greg clicked his tongue impatiently.
[KAI: Nothing, man. No one has claimed the bounty even at that amount]
[HAWKEYE: What the actual fuck?! Even when this dude is just a level 2 player?]
[KAI: He keeps hiding in the dungeons. There's nothing much that can be done about that. The dude is smart though]
[HAWKEYE: Smh. I wonder how this information helps me]
[KAI: I've been thinking about something though]
[HAWKEYE: What's that? Spit it out…]
[KAI: That guy called Eileen and added "senior" to it. I can bet he's in our school]
[HAWKEYE: Are you serious right now?]
If Greg could punch Kai through the phone, he certainly would have.
[KAI: Yeah. Even with how Eileen is clinged to him. We won't lose anything if we check for ourselves]
Reading what Kai used to back up his suspicion, Greg was in thought as it started to make some sense to him.
If this was true then Nash was even closer to him in real life than he was in the game.
Gregory couldn't help but smile in excitement of what he was going to do to Nash when he found him.
