Assassin God: Rise of the Strongest Player

Chapter 27 : A Doubting Thomasina

LadyFlame was a mage class player who specialized in fire magic and while that was one of the best combinations, it was not all rosy for her.

Fire specialty mages were known for their explosive power even beyond the mage class and because of this, the damage they can cause was crazy.

However, a fire mage was the worst class to be in a dungeon like [Fiery Marsh] and that was what LadyFlame was suffering from.

Her fire power was useless in that dungeon since [Fiery Marsh] is a flame type dungeon with fire monsters.

Naturally the inhabitants of such a place would have high resistance to fire and if that was the case as it is, LadyFlame wouldn't contribute any meaningful thing to any group when it comes to clearing that dungeon.

She wouldn't deal any damage at all, and this was why no one wanted her at this stage of the game.

Even if she met the requirements needed, they still refused her entry into their squads.

How depressing.

But right now, hearing Nash talk about clearing dungeons so he could gather enough coins to pay her made her realise something.

'He definitely has a team. I wonder why he's talking like he would do a dungeon raid alone,' LadyFlame wondered, almost thinking that Nash was crazy.

It was bizarre for any player right now to be able to clear dungeons on their own without a group, unless they have some unfathomable level of powerful item.

At least, that was as far as LadyFlame knew.

LadyFlame crossed her arms over her busty chest, making her breast bounce with great detail—a mouthwatering effect of the game's system—and drawing Nash's attention to them.

"Since you have a team, let's do this instead," LadyFlame said, trying to change the terms of their agreement to suit the two of them better.

Nash raised his eyebrows and slightly inched his ears towards her.

He was confused as to why she was changing her words, even more so, how she came to the conclusion that he had a team of his own.

Thinking about it, Nash instinctively muttered, "Oh!"

'If you considered me and Eileen. Maybe we are a team after all,' he thought.

"And what's that?" Nash asked, open to see where LadyFlame was going with this.

"Just hold on a moment," LadyFlame said as she punched in keys on her player interface.

*Ding*

Nash received a notification.

[Player LadyFlame sent you a friend request]

[Do you accept?]

[Yes / No]

Nash clicked [Yes] and LadyFlame registered under his friend list, right below Eileen.

[Friends]

1) Eileen

2) LadyFlame

After confirming that Nash expected her friend request, LadyFlame then looked at him with a bright face.

"Let me join your team," she requested. "Take me to your leader and I will give you the skill book for free. It's useless to me anyway."

Nash was speechless for a moment, finding the request rather funny.

This lady in front of him was willing to forfeit 25,000 copper coins just for a place in his small group of two people.

That was bizarre.

Nash danced on his shoulders briefly, dangling side to side as he considered the request.

"Well, I have no problem with you joining the team. However, about meeting the leader…" he said pausing as he pointed his thumb to his chest, "you are speaking to him. I am the team leader."

LadyFlame dashed towards him with her hand placed firmly on her waist as she critically examined Nash, flashing her big breasts in his face.

Nash simply sighed and rolled his eyes.

He knew exactly what was going on in that little head of hers.

'She must be wondering how a guy like me is a team leader. Tch! Looking down on a stranger would kill you faster than anything in a game.'

"What level are you?"

"2 currently," Nash answered curtly.

"Then how are you a team leader if you are only a level 2 player? You don't have to lie to impress me. Just be real with it."

Nash scoffed and shook his head. "Get off your high horse, lady."

Nash then lifted a finger. "How about I make you an offer then?"

LadyFlame was surprised. "And what's that?"

"Since you don't believe me. I will take you to the [Fiery Marsh] and help you clear it while I get the book free of charge."

LadyFlame rolled her eyes. "But that's the same thing I said."

Nash shook his head. "Here's the twist. You will give me the skill book while we are inside the dungeon. If I'm bluffing and I fail, we both die in there. But if I'm right, you will get what you want and so will I."

LadyFlame did not know what to say.

Her mind was shaken by Nash's confidence that she almost spat out a "yes" without thinking about it.

Seeing that she was hesitant, Nash turned around and started heading forward.

"Wh-Where are you going to?"

Nash stopped and gave her a sidelong glance. "If you are interested, then you can follow me. Otherwise, stay here and wait for the team that would meet your taste."

After saying that, he walked away and not so long after, LadyFlame started chasing after him.

"Hey! Wait up!" she yelled from behind, running as fast as she could.

Nash smiled as he heard her voice getting louder as she ran closer to him.

'Tsk, what a doubting Thomasina.'

He quickly sent Eileen a message to meet up at the entrance of the [Fiery Marsh].

******

Eileen was walking around the village market, looking for good wolf liver she could buy for Nash to use.

She had already purchased some but since Nash did not specify how many he would be needing, she wanted to buy as many as she could afford.

That was her own way of staying relevant to him since she had not contributed much and this bothered her greatly.

*Ding*

[You have a message from Neon]

Eileen quickly clicked it, opening the message to read.

[NEON: Meet us @the entrance of Fiery Marsh asap]

Seeing the [Fiery Marsh] in that message, Eileen was startled as her mind recalled the gruesome incident she faced inside there that led to her first death in the game.

She grew cold feet but was still going to obey.

After all, it was Nash asking for her presence and she had grown to trust his judgement even more than hers.

Eileen's mood was saddened as she kept reading the message but then after a few seconds, her face lit up.

"Wait a minute!" she snapped at herself.

"Us?!"
