Ashen Dragon

Chapter 336: Dragons, Magic, and Artillery Shells

However, at that moment, the wasteland opposite the Rock Rift Valley began to tremble, and a dust storm spanning several kilometers swept from the horizon, engulfing the sky as if the apocalypse was imminent.

In the midst of the dust, countless sinister black shadows emerged, with outlines of horns and claws faintly visible—these were the Evil Dragon Descendants, filling the mountains and valleys, stretching as far as the eye could see.

Their numbers could easily reach millions, like raging waves and overwhelming floods, assaulting the direction of the Allied Forces' positions.

And those cultists of the Dragon Worship Church, clad in dark blue robes, mounted on the towering backs of the Evil Dragon Descendants, howled as they launched a charge.

In the sky, countless giant dragons, following the decree of the Five-Colored Dragon Queen, raised their heads and roared, their momentum overwhelming.

Amidst this deafening roar, Archbishop Jude Gonzales of the Blue Dragon Sect rode atop a Storm Flying Dragon, circling high in the air. He spread his arms, revealing a fearsome head covered with scales, half-human and half-dragon, under the hood.

"People of Tiamat, the time has come to prove your loyalty. Destroy those pitiful rebels and let them wail in the shadows of the giant dragons!"

His voice was impassioned and commanding, and as it echoed, dark clouds churned ceaselessly in the sky, rapidly spreading and forming massive, fearsome dragon faces high above.

"For the great Immortal Queen!"

"For Tiamat!"

"The mortal realms shall ultimately fall, and the great dragons shall reign over the world!"

The cultists, fervent and zealous, waved their weapons while riding on the backs of the Dragon Beasts, shouting hoarsely.

Beside Jude, lightning crisscrossed as he looked at the Allied Forces across the rift, raised his Dragonhead Scepter, and his eyes sparked with furious electricity, his voice layered like thunder, oppressive.

"Despicable scum, you stole Her Majesty the Dragon Queen's strength! And yet you dare attempt to stop her coming!"

"In the name of the great Mother of Evil Dragons, I shall grant you the destruction—"

"Bang!"

A loud sound echoed through the rift, as an imperial sniper held a sniper rifle with a caliber comparable to a cannon, wisps of gray smoke still rising from the barrel.

The explosive bullet, at an unimaginable speed, struck the bishop's chest, blocked by the triggered Protective Magic.

Despite the magic blocking and repelling most of the shock force, the immense kinetic energy still knocked Jude backward, almost causing him to fall from the back of the Storm Flying Dragon.

Seeing this scene, a military researcher observing through binoculars in the distance shook his head and sighed, "The spell's penetration is still not enough, there's room for improvement..."

On the northern high slope of Rock Rift Valley, Dolores raised a megaphone and mercilessly taunted, "Fool, if I were you, I wouldn't choose to rant in front of the Empire's elite troops."

Becoming so disgraced in front of countless followers was something Jude could not tolerate. His eyes bulged with anger, and he struggled to suppress the fury as countless arcs of electricity were released from his pupils.

The Dragonhead Scepter swung in mid-air, invoking the terrifying Divine Power bestowed by the Five-Colored Dragon Queen, unleashing a dreadful thunderstorm, as the archbishop roared, "Despicable and shameless Imperial people!

Charge! Attack! Tear them apart!"

Before the words were finished, the tide composed of Evil Dragon Descendants and Dragon Worship Cultists surged, their imposing battle cries soaring to the heavens, earth-shattering.

On the other side of the rift, within the Allied Forces' positions, the Ogre Gunners of the Empire were skillfully loading shells, making calibration adjustments, with astounding efficiency.

The Dragon Vein Great Goblin atop the platform waved a hand casually, coldly commanding, "All units—open fire!"

In an instant, the ground trembled, and a thousand cannons roared!

Countless shells, trailing smoke and fire, burst forth from thousands of black barrels, intersecting in the sky to form an all-encompassing web, appearing to engulf everything within the positions.

The shells traced near-perfect parabolic paths, crossing the deep chasm to land within the positions of the Dragon Worship Army.

"Boom!"

"Boom! Boom!"

The explosions layered, echoed one after another, blooming fireballs among the tide of Blue Dragon Descendants and cultists, dust soaring skyward, powerful shockwaves unleashed.

Amidst the deafening roars were piercing wails, countless charred corpses, and broken limbs blown apart. Just a round of shelling caused thousands of casualties.

And the Empire had more than just artillery for dealing with ground forces. In the distant trenches, rows of anti-aircraft guns raised their barrels, releasing a series of shrapnel rounds.

"Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!"

The dense sounds reverberated through the sky, as countless shells targeted the Five-Colored Dragons, Storm Flying Dragons, and Scorpion Lion Beasts in the air, forming a terrifying metal storm.

These shells were meticulously crafted by the Imperial Weapons Research Institute, possessing extremely high penetration, specially designed to deal with scale-covered Monsters, and tested to even penetrate the scales of a young Green Dragon, showcasing their terrifying power.

A nearly mature Blue Dragon, just moments ago, had been flaunting its power, roaring at the Allied Forces' positions, claiming it would make a meal of the Silver Moon Elves.

In the next moment, the Empire's shells rained down like a torrential storm, and in an instant, shattered scales flew everywhere, as blood flowers bloomed on the Blue Dragon's body.

He let out a bewildered query, "How is this possible! How could I be wounded by such things! Our dragon scales are supposed to be harder than shields!"

Glaring at the humans operating the anti-aircraft guns in the distance, the Blue Dragon was so furious that it lost its wits, flying towards them in a rage, eyes sparking with electricity, "Vile ants, daring to use such means—"
