Chapter 409: Around them, to try
Nessa's eyes trembled as she stared at part of the city destroyed, with scorch marks almost everywhere and she heard the cries of the people and saw that just a small part of the castle was destroyed but a lot of the city was gone and the wall was blown to smithereens.
"What the hell happened here?" She mumbled as she entered the city and her eyes widened as she saw a few dead bodies and her brows furrowed as she looked at the people that were crying out and she felt slightly weak in the knees.
"How did this happen? My city and did they target here as well?" She asked as someone grabbed onto her feet, with tears running down his cheeks.
"P- Please help me..." He mumbled and she noticed he was one of the knights, who was very young.
She crouched down and placed her hand on his chest and his body as well as her eyes, began glowing blue as she slowly healed him.
"How did this happen?" She asked as a few people came to her, some carrying kids.
'This is not good,' She thought as she showed them to sit down and her body began glowing blue and her aura stretched onto them and the blood began drying up on their bodies.
"W- We were attacked, they came out of nowhere, the royal family..." He mumbled and her eyes widened as she looked up, hoping that they were alright.
'Please be alright, I don't want anything happening to you guys, why on earth did this happen? Why?' She thought as her eyes narrowed and she exhaled deeply as she focused on healing the ones that were with her, since there were kids there as well. Stay connected with empire
"Do you know who attacked?" She asked.
"The king... He said it was people from some sort of secret..." He mumbled and she glanced at him.
"Don't continue talking, focus on healing yourself, I already know who it was," He replied and he glanced at her then sighed.
"I see, they were powerful, be careful," He said as she stood up then her eyes went back to normal as well as her body.
"Thank you, I will, you guys will be fine, try to just relax now though or you might end up causing yourselves more harm than good," She replied and he nodded with a smile before thanking her and she noticed that there was a house on fire and her eyes shimmered blue.
Nessa lifted her hand in the air and a water ball began forming above the house and when she released it, it drenched the house, putting out the fire and the people thanked her.
"I hope they are alright," She said as she took off, heading towards the castle, hoping that the ones she left behind, the ones who became friends with her, despite knowing she was hiding things, were alive.
As Nessa was heading there, all sorts of things ran through her mind, ones that she wished would not be true but knew that reality could be a harsh thing at times.
As she ran, a glass pierced her feet and she gritted her teeth and pulled it out then kept on running, without healing herself and she exhaled deeply when she heard the cries, echoing through her mind and she clenched her fist.
"Please... Also, the demon... Is he okay as well?" She asked as she remembered what happened back at her city and the ones she lost as welland she coughed.
After a few minutes, Nessa arrived at the castle and she came to a halt then exhaled deeply as she looked at the part of the castle that was broken.
"Father!" Someone shouted and she flinched as she recognized the voice, to be that of Mikala's.
"Mikala..." She mumbled as she rushed in and some of the fallen knights, who were still alive looked at her.
"Where are they?" She asked and one of the captain's pointed in their direction and she looked at him as he panted.
"Damn it..." She mumbled as she grabbed onto his arm.
"Heal, fast..." She mumbled as she healed him and he coughed up the bad blood then thanked her and she placed him to sit down by the gate.
"Relax, you will be fine," She said and took off towards where she heard the voice coming from.
"Mikala!" She shouted and at the same time, she arrived at where they were and her eyes widened.
"Your highness..." She mumbled as she saw Mikala holding onto her father, who was laying on the ground, covered in blood and she approached them.
Mikala looked up at Nessa, with tears streaming down her cheek and Nessa glanced at her and the girl grabbed onto her feet.
"Nessa... My father... He is in a bad state, can you help him?" She asked and Nessa sighed as she crouched down and the king glanced at her.
"Nessa..." He mumbled with a smile and she looked at him, not knowing what to say.
"You..." She mumbled as she placed her hand on his chest and he held onto her hand.
Her body began glowing as well as her eyes and Mikala glanced at her as the some of the knights approached them, as well as his injured family members.
"Father," Mikala said as she continued crying and her father glanced at her then smiled a little and she lowered her gaze.
[Make sure you don't overdo it, you are powerful but right now, you cannot bring back someone from the dead, please remember that, he is in a pretty bad shape right now.]
'I know that, but I have to try, I can't just leave them and do nothing, I can't....' She thought as she remembered the deaths of those that were once in her life and she gritted her teeth and clenched her fist tightly.
"Nessa, I don't think that..." She said as her father was still bleeding and Nessa glanced at his blood as tears ran down his family members cheeks and she glanced at them then her eyes widened when she saw the child was injured badly as well.
"I am sorry everyone but there is no saving me, please survive this, I love you all.... Please..." He said as he squeezed Nessa's hand and she glanced at him then he smiled at her as he took his last breath and Mikala and the others began crying as well as the knights.
