Aria Of The Cursed Dragon

Chapter 33: 33. The Aria XXX

"You will get blood on yourself! Atleast let me wash up a bit, you idiot! " Artoria said in an annoyed tone as she felt Siegfried wrap his arms around her from behind while burying his face in the crook of her neck.

Although she sounded annoyed, her face had a smile that implied otherwise.

But his next words caused her to flush in embarrassment and annoyance.

" It would not be the first time you got blood on me~ " Siegfried said in a nonchalant tone while he had a mischievous smile on his face.

Although he couldn't see her face he could practically imagine the annoyance on her face and how flushed it would be.

"Y-You!" Artoria growled a little in annoyance as she no longer exuded any feminine grace.

She rolled up her sleeves as if she was about to beat up Siegfried and without giving him a chance to think she pushed him to the floor and started biting him as they wrestled on the floor....

...

Siegfried was holding a pouting Artoria in his arms as he was carrying her in a bridal carry.

Other than some hickeys there wasn't anything major on his neck where Artoria tried to bite and the reason for her sulking was her inability to punish him due to how strong he was.

She was sure that the only reason she was even able to leave some marks was due to him allowing her to do so.

"You are still the same as ever ~ " Siegfried said in a fond tone as he was carrying Artoria.

Although she had matured a lot , deep down she was still the Artoria he had known since childhood and had come to love.

" You have a problem with that! " Artoria puffed up her cheeks as she pulled on Siegfried's cheeks causing him to just gaze at her with an amused look in his eyes.

" Ofcourse not~ " Siegfried said in a dramatic tone as he smiled at Artoria who although appeared annoyed on the outside her eyes had twinkle of mischief in them.

" As it should be ~" Artoria said in a haughty tone as she huffed a little causing Siegfried to chuckle at her antics.

Their current life reminded him of the carefree times he and Artoria used to spend together.

Artoria's destiny was to be a King and her path would have been filled with difficulties and pain and Siegfried didn't want that to happen.

So when the time came for Artoria to fulfill her birthright, he stepped in.

He still remembered the day she was about to pull the holysword from the stone of appointment.

He still remembered Merlin's words about Artoria no longer being a human but a King , a being who shall draw their blade to protect their realm.

He knew how stubborn Artoria was and he couldn't let her shoulder all of the burdens alone.

He didn't know why but at that time he had the urge to just take out the sword from the stone.

So he did it , it was like he was in trance, he remembered seeing Merlin and Artoria be dumbfounded as he pulled the sword out of the stone .

It was at that moment that something inside him awakened and Caliburn which was in his hands had disintegrated like it was just made of sand.

Although the sword was gone Siegfried could feel the strength coursing through him , if before when he gazed at Merlin he would feel threatened but now he didn't feel anything.

It was like his instincts didn't even register Merlin as a threat.

But he knew even with Caliburn gone it still didn't mean Artoria didn't have to follow her destiny.

Artoria would have to pick up her sword to defend her people and what he had done might have been something that should have held her back.

When he held Caliburn he could feel the strength and energy contained in that sword and he knew it would have been a huge help to Artoria if she wielded it.

But Siegfried did not regret his decision and without hesitation he decided to eliminate all threats and dangers to the realm so that Artoria wouldn't need to face any sufferrings.

He wouldn't let her be the King that Merlin mentioned and sacrifice her life for her people , becoming something that was just a figure head who lived for the prosperity of the realm.

He would eliminate all and every threat to the realm so that she wouldn't have to experience any difficulties.

He would protect her in everyway possible.

That was his conviction and purpose...

...

In the end he became a Knight of the realm and worked tirelessly.

Ending rebellions and threats before they affected the realm.

Even going as far as injuring the incarnation of the white dragon who sought to end all of humanity to bring forth the era of monsters.

Siegfried could have killed Vortigen if not for the white dragon fleeing and Sieg having to protect Uther who was just dead weight.

In the end Uther blamed Sieg for not killing Vortigen and letting himself get injured.

Siegfried never held any respect for Uther but after that day his respect had hit rock bottom.

A waste ..... That was his evaluation of Uther.

If not for the oath and the existence of Artoria he would have beheaded Uther already....
