Chapter 06-Teacher, teacher, my family is quite big!
After their conversation, Lyle came to know the young lady before him as Lilyss.
Lyle was acquainted with Iofer’s renowned part-time monarch.
With the meager wages from the Adventurer’s Guild’s front desk, she had the means to acquire a small abode in Iofer.
Lyle expressed admiration.
“By the way, do you happen to be aware of any available employment opportunities in the vicinity?”
Lyle pondered briefly, “Something more suited to my talents.”
Lilyss was taken aback, “Are you in dire need of coin?”
“For the moment, I’m stable, but my financial sources are soon to run dry.”
Lyle grimaced, “I’m not particularly inclined towards part-time work. It leaves me feeling unsettled. I must also contemplate the purchase of a residence, and the property prices in Iofer are nothing short of intimidating.”
Lilyss found it utterly perplexing.
This individual of his sort, earnestly seeking employment?
Nevertheless…
The work at the Adventurer’s Guild predominantly entailed two aspects.
First, the registration and enrollment of adventurer groups, updating their skill records.
Second, accepting commissions.
For instance, if the Adventurer’s Tavern was in need of a fourth-level brewmaster, the Adventurer’s Guild would serve as the intermediary.
In simpler terms, the Adventurer’s Guild held sway over the entire talent market in Iofer.
They were the notorious intermediaries.
But the Lyle standing before her was nothing short of a seventeen-talented prodigy!
As long as she clung to his coattails!
Then, this month’s performance champion!
Would undoubtedly be claimed by Lilyss, the elven receptionist of the Adventurer’s Guild!
Furthermore…
Lyle remained blissfully unaware of his own worth.
He even believed in his heart that he might soon be reduced to begging on the streets!
Happiness had arrived so suddenly!
Lilyss was so moved that she felt like crying.
I need to earn enough for next month’s mortgage!
She cleared her throat gently, adjusted her attire, and straightened her modest chest. “Regarding employment, it’s quite challenging to find work these days. I’m helping you because I find you agreeable. I’m currently…”
“Stop.”
Lyle extended his hand. “Why are you lying?”
“Uh… I…”
“When elves lie or get shy, their ears turn pink.”
Lyle gestured to her rosy, pointed ears. “For now, I don’t believe you’re shy around me.”
Darn it!
Did I run into an expert?
Lilyss wiped the sweat from her forehead.
She reached up and tapped her own ear, then sat down somewhat dejectedly. “Regarding work, honestly, with your qualifications, you could aim higher.”
“Higher?” Lyle glanced up at the ceiling.
“Mythical Adventurer Troupe,” Lilyss said seriously. “Scholars, mages, priests—they don’t lack any of those. But adventurers like you, maxed out in the Life class, believe me, with just this parchment, your entry barrier will crumble.”
“Why? What use do Life-class adventurers have in dungeon exploration?”
Lilyss countered, “Why do you adventurers venture forth?”
Lyle thought for a moment. “Dreams, I suppose… I don’t really know.”
In the beginning, everyone was eager to explore the dungeons, to see the fantastical and adventurous sights within.
But things changed under the moonlight.
He found himself beginning to question this matter.
Xiya… seemed more inclined to defeat the Crystal Tear and ascend to the Mythical Adventurer Troupe.
They were all becoming somewhat fanatical.
“At its core, it is about status, power, and wealth. Adventure is the swiftest path to material indulgence—the world’s finest cuisine, the most exquisite attire, the most comfortable living conditions, and so forth.”
“So, essentially, it’s servitude.”
Lyle shook his head, “For the time being, I simply seek an ordinary occupation.”
But when he thought about it… there was still a lingering sense of dissatisfaction.
I aspired to become a scholar…
“How about you become my mentor?”
Lilyss possessed a pair of elven-exclusive ice-blue eyes, silky golden hair cascading over her shoulders, and her face adorned with a pair of oversized round-framed glasses.
When the young girl’s waist gently swayed, the specially tailored elven attire revealed a glimpse of the snow-white softness around her midsection, with an astonishingly supple allure.
A humanoid lady wearing glasses had a certain allure.
In Iofer, there were no racial conflicts, no battles against demon lords, and no heroic champions. You could even spot succubi strolling down the streets.
Everyone shared a common goal—the ascent of the divine, through the 100-level Yggdrasil Dungeon.
Lyle inquired, “What are the benefits of being your mentor?”
“I’ll cover your tuition fees.”
“That doesn’t seem like an equitable trade.”
Lilyss’s pointed ears turned crimson, and she nervously pinched the hem of her skirt. “Um… occasionally, we could indulge in a bit of teacher-student roleplay, alright? It could be enjoyable…”
“The teacher uses a ruler to tap the student’s palm, and the student obediently bends over with their butt in the air… quite risqué…”
However, Lyle’s response was:
“What are you even thinking? It’s not like you’re offering me a place to sleep. Aren’t you just taking advantage?”
He had an elven wife.
The pioneer wrote in his journal as follows:
The elven kind are very loyal.
They only say “I love you” twice in their lifetime.
At their wedding and at their death.
They make excellent wives.
But!!!
Elven experience points (XP) are so complex they could fill several books.
Never think that you’re the one benefiting.
When you’ve tricked her into playing a hundred times the most provocative games with you and you’re feeling self-satisfied.
In reality, you’re the one who’s been deceived!!!
She might even let you secretly sleep with the neighbor’s wife!!!
Lyle responded with, “Let’s talk about it when I have some free time.”
However, Lilyss seemed to have made up her mind to cling to his coattails.
This elven girl had already started affectionately calling him “teacher,” circling around him like a butterfly, almost to the point of actually arching her rear toward Lyle.
My mortgage will be squeezed out of you!
“Teacher, if you want to find a job, you should first work on your image.”
“Image?”
“Don’t job interviews require a proper set of attire?”
Lyle looked down at his gray robe.
This was what he wore when he became a scholar.
The uniform issued to him by the Adventurer’s Guild—[Scholar’s Robe].
Not exactly the height of fashion.
But he himself didn’t particularly care.
He was, after all, a research enthusiast.
Lilyss appraised Lyle from head to toe.
Pale pupils, black hair, and a scholarly air about his face—truth be told, he was rather handsome. With a bit of grooming, he could even be considered quite the catch.
“The Scholar Who Suddenly Became Incredibly Charming and Wildly Popular Thanks to an Aggressive Woman’s Affections”
Lilyss felt herself getting excited.
Transforming a man who had potential but was unaware of it was more fun than a mere change of clothing, it seemed!
“Teacher, do you have a place to stay tonight?”
“I’m temporarily staying at an inn.”
Lyle shook his head, “Don’t call me ‘teacher’.”
Staying at an inn… Lilyss blinked her stunning ice-blue eyes. “As a student, providing accommodation for the teacher is only natural, isn’t it?”
“I already said, don’t call me ‘teacher’!”
Lilyss giggled, tidied up the table, and then slung her small bag over her shoulder.
“Let’s go!”
