"What?" She was quite surprised as I never showed too much interest in training. I simply went to the Academy because all my friends went there.

I was quite talented and smart but didn't really show it. Besides acing all the written work at school I showed pretty average results on all the practical aspects of being a shinobi.

I wasn't really hiding my skills on purpose I just was really lazy and didn't bother to practice. I was like those genius kids with no interest in anything as everything comes really easy to them and didn't bother to practice.

"Why the sudden interest to start training?" She was asked. Of course she would I had never taken anything seriously since I learned how to walk. 

"I had a really interesting talk with Itachi and Shisui during my birthday. He told me that in order to keep those I love safe, I need to become stronger." It was true, I was paraphrasing a little bit but wasn't really lying.

"Hmm, if you want to start training you're going to need to know the history of our clan."

I was pretty confused. I thought we were just civilians. She continued;

"Our clan is the Hoshizora clan. We are a clan that specializes in wind release, we thrived during the warring states period under the Senju clan. Something that most have forgotten by now is that we had a very special Kekkei Genkai that rivalled even those of the Uchiha's and Senju's, Star release. The ability to generate and manipulate stars. Along with our massive chakra reserves and the unique uses of this Kekkei Genkai we were nearly able to become the strongest clan in the shinobi world. But for some reason, our clan had extremely low fertility rates and it was hard for the members outside of the main family line to awaken their Kekkei Genkai, thus we had to ally ourselves with the Senju hoping that intermarriage with them would help with the declining birthrates. Unfortunately, it did not, and we suffered from a major decline in population until it became just the two of us." She explained.

"Wow." It was a lot to take in, it seems fate really likes to play games with me. My family clan utilizes the 2 elements I ruled over in my previous life.

"What's a Kekkei Genkai?" I already figured out that a Kekkei Genkai is a special ability but I was hoping she would give me some examples.

"Oh right, sorry hehe. There are three types of Kekkei Genkai, elemental, occular, and special. Elemental Kekkei Genkai is the fusion of 2 or more elements to create a new type of element. Like fire and earth makes magma release, wind and water makes ice release. Occular Kekkei Genkai is a mutation in the eyes that gives the user special abilities. You can tell from the unique look of the eyes. The Uchiha clan has the Sharingan, and the Hyuuga clan has the Byakugan. Then there is special Kekkei Genkai, these are special abilities that do not fall under the other two categories. Like our clan Kekkei Genkai, and shikotsumyaku which gives its wielder the ability to manipulate their own bones. It very rarely manifests within members of the Kaguya clan. There are others like the Fujise clan that can use nature energy without any Senjutsu training. That are many more I'm sure, but those are the most notable ones."

"What's Senjutsu?" I asked immediately after.

"Senjutsu is a specialized field of jutsu that involves the use of natural energy. Senjutsu practitioners, known as Sages, learn to draw Natural Energy inside their body, blending it with their own chakra to create Senjutsu chakra. This chakra adds a new dimension of power to the user's techniques, while also allowing for the use of techniques that would not otherwise be possible. You can learn Senjutsu in Mount Myoboku and Ryuuchi Cave. It is said that even the first Hokage used sage mode but nobody really knew where he learned it."

"That's interesting, what about Mount Myoboku and Ryuuchi Cave? What are those?"

"Along with Shikkotsu Forest, they are the big three Sage regions. Mount Myoboku is the home of the Toad Sages, Ryuuchi Cave is the home of the Snake Sages, and Shikkotsu Forest is the home of the Slug Sage. They are the homes of the summons of the Legendary Sanin. Their three-way deadlock is a legend in the shinobi world. Its effectiveness in battle made the techniques name, and the people that summoned them, known to the Shinobi World. Jiraya-sama is a sage and has a giant toad as his summon, Orochimaru-sama is the summoner of the snakes in Ryuuchi Cave. It is unclear whether he can use sage mode and Tsunade-sama, she is an amazing healer, Kunoichi and summoner of Lady Katsuuyu. A slug with the ability to split into multiple pieces and can heal most ailments. But your mom is the most awesome one of them all."

My mom may have realized that she was talking about others too much and decided to praise herself a little bit. I chuckled a little bit at that.

"What? You don't believe me? I'm known as the wind calamity on the battlefield. I'm the fastest kunoichi in the world and my jutsu cause havoc on the battlefield. Many people have compared me to the fourth Hokage in terms of strength." She spoke, with her nose almost touching the ceiling and a look that said, 'Praise me, peasant.'

I was honestly surprised and I figured it wouldn't hurt to show my mother some appreciation, especially after seeing how much she loved me last night. My eyes lit up and I said, "Woah! I didn't know you were so awesome, Mom! I wanna be like you when I grow up!"

She got up and gave me a bear hug and started to ball her eyes out. "Oh my god! You're so adorable! That settles it, let's start your training now!"

Score! I thought, now I don't have to wait too long. We got up and cleaned the table before going to a random training ground close to the house. We went over the leaf sticking exercise to see what level I was at and seeing that I did it pretty easily we moved on to tree walking and water walking. 

It didn't take me long to master tree walking and I was starting to get comfortable with water walking before my mom cut the training to go and make dinner. I was able to walk even upside down on surfaces and became comfortable on the water, but I had to go back home and get ready for dinner because of the sunset.

Sorry for the info dump but Shin (MC nickname) still doesn't know much about the world. All the info she just told him is high level and mainly only shinobi's know them, typically high level ones. The memories he got are only of a slightly smart 5-year-old child who thinks he's all that.
