Chapter 47:
Chapter 47:
Li Rou, the director of the program, had initially seen Jiang Feng as a troublemaker. He slept in until 10, woke up grumpy, and performed poorly in school. His obsession with video games was obvious, as he couldn’t even sit in the car without playing. He had a bad temper and a sharp tongue, especially when it came to Jiang Nan. He didn’t hide his dislike for him at all.
At first, Li Rou didn’t care for Jiang Feng either.
But now, as she watched the young man sitting there with a lonely expression, something in her heart softened.
After all, he was just a child.
…
“He only cares about Jiang Nan,” Jiang Feng said, his voice thick with frustration. “To him, Jiang Nan is perfect—good grades, everything. I told him I’m not made for studying, but he never listened. I told him I wanted to be an e-sports player, and he didn’t respect that at all.”
Jiang Feng’s eyes turned red as he lowered his head, his anger building. “What’s wrong with being an e-sports player? It’s an official Olympic sport now! It’s not like it used to be. Why does he look down on it? In his eyes, only Jiang Nan’s dreams matter. Mine? They’re worthless.”
His fists clenched tightly, and his face showed his frustration. His voice grew louder with each word, and he stood up, his emotions boiling over. “When my mom was alive, she didn’t want to be a housewife. She wanted to be a designer. But he didn’t respect her either! My mom died less than a year ago, and he married that nurse. He didn’t even ask what I thought! He just said, ‘Adults handle these things, don’t worry about it.’ Well, I’m an adult now! I want to be an e-sports player, and he needs to respect that!”
Jiang Feng’s expression was stubborn, his words sharp and biting. Yet, something about his outburst touched everyone around him.
No one thought he was lying.
If Jiang Feng had been the type to easily express himself, he wouldn’t have exploded like this in front of the camera.
The female choreographer discreetly wiped away her tears, her heart aching for him. “Dreams are dreams; there’s no such thing as a bad one. You’re really good at gaming, so keep going!”
“Of course!” Jiang Feng responded with pride. “I’ve already been invited to a trial by a youth training department. I was going to attend this holiday, but then Jiang Nan signed me up for this show without asking me first!”
His eyes were filled with anger, clearly directed at Jiang Nan.
“Jiang Nan signed you up?” the female director asked, surprised. “Why would he do that?”
“How should I know?” Jiang Feng muttered, pouting. “He’s always scheming. I’m sure he’s got some plan!”
The interview clips were quietly circulated among the staff, and after watching Jiang Feng’s side of the story, every member of the crew seemed to have a change of heart. It was clear that the staff’s attitude toward Jiang Feng had shifted dramatically.
When the interview ended, everyone looked at Jiang Feng with sympathy and understanding. The shift was noticeable even when it came time to collect his belongings.
“Xiao Feng, this phone… you can’t keep it,” the female director said gently. “The rules of the show don’t allow phones, computers, or snacks.”
