You Will Only Be Mine

Chapter 446: Match

I stared at their faces before I could muster up any words. My right eye felt a little painful, but outside there I didn't feel any discomfort. The headache I had before had subsided completely, but I tried my best to look back on what had happened. The dream came to my mind, and I quickly felt my chest to see if there was anything wrong, but there were no wounds. I looked at both of them, and their limp and lifeless form kept flashing in my head. Forget it, forget it, forget it. It was just a dream. Calm down, you idiot.

"Kazu-kun, you eye…"

"Huh?" I looked up at her and could feel something wrong with my right eye. Jumping out of bed, I ran to the bathroom to look in the room where it was apparent. My right eye had changed its colour. It turned red. "This is going to take so long to explain to everyone," I said and let out a sigh.

Till now, most of the changes in my body could have been just passed off with just a little comment or excuse, but it is really hard to explain the sudden change in my eye colour. I am sure Ai can change the perception of the people around us, but having her do this often is going to be troublesome. Should I wear an eyepatch? Say I got hurt and can't take it off? An eyepatch would look cool on me, or maybe? I don't know.

My eyes turned to the entrance of the bathroom, and there stood two figures looking at me with still worried expressions on their face. "What's wrong? Is it my eye? I mean, it isn't something I am too worried about. Does it not look good on me?"

"That's not the case…" Ai said and got closer to me, scanning my body. "Are you okay? Does it hurt anywhere? What were you even dreaming? You were crying and shouting so much. Do you have any idea how worried I got?"

"I'm fine," I said with a little smile, but she didn't look convinced. "Just a bad dream, that's all. Happens from time to time, you know?"

"A random bad dream doesn't warrant such a reaction from people normally," Ai said, pressing me against the matter. I don't know if I want to remember or talk about it again. I have to do something to deter them.

"Why did I fall asleep in the first place?" I asked as a sharp pain went through my head. Why do I feel like I am forgetting something?

"You were just too tired from everything yesterday, that's all. Right, Akira?" Ai said quickly and turned towards the noble, who nodded her head in agreement. "Kazuki-sama woke up and fell asleep again because of poor sleep and Ai-sama holding him close to her."

"Is that so?" I asked her, and Ai proudly nodded her head.

"After all, there is no way Kazu-kun will not sleep if he has me holding him," she said, puffing her chest, and I chuckled a little. Wait, if I slept again, what time is it?

"Ai, what is the time right now?" I asked her, and she looked at the clock outside to confirm.

"Five past eight, why?" she asked me, and the next moment, both our eyes widened.

"We will be late!" we shouted in unison, and both pulled out our brushes and started to brush in a hurry.

"Akira, can you please help us reach school today?" I begged the noble, and she bowed her head.

"As you wish, Kazuki-sama, just give me the command. I will get your uniforms ready in the meantime so you two can take a bath and freshen up," she said and walked towards our room. How does she even know where our uniforms are? You know what, I am not going to question anything she knows anymore.

Both Ai and I brushed our teeth and rinsed out our mouths before I stepped out to let her freshen up. In the meantime, I opened the fridge to get some breakfast ready. I don't think I will have time to cook us any lunch. We did have some cooked rice left from yesterday, and I think I can make something with it, but I can't think of anything in the moment. Okay, let's just get our coffees and toast. I was oddly not feeling hungry for some reason, so that wasn't an issue for me.

When I was done cooking the food, Ai entered the kitchen and picked it right off the counter, eating it in a hurry. We normally eat after bathing, but right now, the schedule and order needed to be thrown out of the window. I handed her the coffee, and she quickly started dipping the toast in it and shoving the entire thing in her mouth. I did the same as her and rushed to the washroom to freshen up.

Once I was done with that, Ai was already in the bathroom taking a bath, and I took all of my clothes off and quickly cleaned myself up. "Don't take too long in the bathtub," I said to the half-vampire who was slowly dozing in her own land.

"But we didn't even take one when we got back yesterday," she whined, and as much as I shared her sentiment, the devil's name is Natsumi-san, and I don't want to piss her off.

"You know Natsumi-san will absolutely murder us if we are late," I said to her, and her eyes opened wide.

"I mean…s-she will understand r-right?" she said, slowly getting out of the bathtub. "We have a valid reason."

"Me falling back to sleep after waking up once is not really a valid reason, you know," I said, rinsing off the soap from my body and dipping myself in the bathtub. Oh no, this feels too good. My body is so relaxed the moment the warm water touches it. It was like I was floating in the open sea, but the water was the perfect temperature.

"Someone is being a hypocrite," Ai called me out, and I quickly got out of the bathtub. I looked back at it and bade it farewell. Goodbye for now, our precious bathtub. I promise we will meet again in the evening.

Quickly drying myself up, I found my uniform laid out in the clothes rack. God bless Akira, may you get everything you ever asked for.

I changed, put on my uniform, set my hair, and rushed out towards the shoe rack to get our outdoor shoes as Akira handed us our bags. "Akira, now, please!" I asked her, and before we knew it, we appeared right in a dark alleyway close to the school. Right, she is still a full vampire. "Thank you so much, we will meet you later in the afternoon. Get plenty of sleep before that," I said before rushing out with Ai pulling her with me.

I looked at the time and it was five minutes to eight. Please don't be late, please don't be late, please don't be late. I decided to run faster as the school gate appeared before us, and so did Ai to match my pace. We soon entered the school gates and stopped to not bumping into anyone. I looked at my watch and let out a sigh of relief.

"We are on time," I said and started walking towards the building. I took off my shoes, and as I went to take the other one off, I felt a little tug on my arm. I turned to see what had happened, only to see that I was still holding onto Ai's hand. "Sorry, I forgot about that," I said, letting go, and she had a little pout on her face.

"You could have kept holding it, you know. I have trained for this exact situation," she said, quickly taking off her shoes and putting the indoor ones on without using her other hand. "I am prepared for any situation with Kazu-kun," she said, cutely striking a pose, taking multiple hearts in one go. I had this overwhelming urge to just grab her and hug her to the end of time, but I know all too well how Natsumi-san would react if she found us doing this in the school in front of everyone.

I quickly changed my shoes too, and we went to our classroom. Right as we were about to enter the class, from the other side of the door, we almost bumped into Sensei. She stopped in her tracks and rubbed her forehead.

"Good morning, Sensei," I said, and she nodded her head. "Is something wrong?"

"Are you blind? Or did you not have any mirrors in your place?" she asked me, and I quickly realized what she was indicating. I put my hands together, praying to her to take care of this. "Well, I thought it would happen sooner or later. Okay, I will make some excuse for you. It would be easier if you had an eyepatch on, and I could just say someone stabbed your eye."

"Your idea of excuses is too extreme, Sensei," I said, and she indicated for me to enter the class. I looked up at my classmates who stared at us, but specifically me this time, and just made my way on way back to my bench.

Ai sat down in her seat as a big group was about to form around her, her friends stood between them and her shooing all of them away. I will forever be grateful to the gods that she has friends like that.

I set down my bag and opened it, but for some reason, it was stuck. I tried pulling on it a little harder, and very soon the entire thing ended up torn apart in my hand. Everyone stared at me, baffled by what had just happened.

Oh no.
