Wu dong Qian Kun: I, Lin Langtian, Refuse to be a Supporting Character

Chapter 441: Right Hand of Demon Flame, Left Hand of Vermilion Flame

"To be able to stand against the Blood Puppet with sheer physical power… truly worthy of being a Shadow Guard from the Dark Palace."

Above, in the sky, Tang Lie glanced at Lin Langtian locked in fierce combat with the Blood Puppet, his expression flashing with surprise. Even he wasn't certain he could match the Blood Puppet in pure physical might, yet Lin Langtian, only at the Perfect Stage of Life Xuan, was managing it.

"Hmph. Let's see how many moves he can hold out against the Blood Puppet," Tang Lie scoffed, narrowing his gaze toward the relentless Zhong Kui. All he needed was for the Blood Puppet to capture Qingtan, and the Firecloud Sect's crisis would be resolved.

Sensing Tang Lie's urgency, the Blood Puppet fixated its glowing red eyes on Lin Langtian, revealing a grim and chilling grin, with blood dripping from its jet-black teeth. The sight was nightmarish.

Lin Langtian took a deep breath, feeling the burning power surging within, absorbing and neutralizing the Blood Puppet's violent energy that had invaded his body. The Blood Puppet was formidable. Lin Langtian knew well that few, even at half-step Death Xuan, would risk direct confrontation.

Roar!

The Blood Puppet let out a thunderous roar, and the red glow in its eyes began to fade, leaving Lin Langtian to narrow his gaze in alarm. He sensed an even deadlier force building within the creature. This puppet wasn't merely a brute; it had mastery over its power.

Lin Langtian's suspicions proved right as the Blood Puppet unleashed a whirlwind of blood-red light, casting the sky into darkness. The very air became thick and suffocating, as though reality itself had transformed into a demonic realm ruled by vicious bloodlust.

The Blood Puppet's hands extended forward, clenching toward Lin Langtian. A guttural chant emerged from its mouth, dripping with malice: "Blood... Fiend... Purgatory…"

With every syllable, Lin Langtian felt the Puppet's power amplify, transforming the battlefield into a domain of overwhelming hostility. Even the energy of the world around him became harder to draw upon, as if it, too, was drowned in blood fiend energy. Meanwhile, the Blood Puppet seemed to absorb it effortlessly, growing stronger.

"What a powerful technique… This isn't an ordinary puppet," Lin Langtian muttered with admiration.

Roar!

Under the crimson shroud of blood energy, the Puppet's hands extended, forming into blood-red blades, exuding waves of sickening energy. Its red eyes gleamed with a terrifying, violent light. And then, with one swift motion, the Blood Puppet slashed downward with both swords. Two towering, crimson arcs formed in mid-air, slicing through the sky with astonishing speed, bearing down on Lin Langtian.

Lin Langtian, catching sight of the attack approaching, quickly deployed his own defense. He unfurled his fiery wings behind him, which transformed into two massive crimson shields in front of him, each brimming with Vermilion Bird energy.

Bang!

The puppet's attack struck Lin Langtian's fire shields, sending him skidding back across the ground, his flaming wings dimming under the impact. The attacks were only growing fiercer with time.

Roar!

The Blood Puppet let out another roar, and a torrent of blood surged from its mouth, spreading through the Purgatory domain. Blood fiend energy collected into hundreds of razor-sharp blood-red blades hanging in the air, each radiating sinister energy.

"Blood... Fiend... Blade... Hell."

At the Blood Puppet's command, the blade storm tore through the air toward Lin Langtian with relentless force.

Lin Langtian's gaze remained focused, and as the oncoming blades closed in, he summoned a massive azure droplet of water that expanded into a defensive barrier. The savage blades crashed against the water shield, sparks flying with each strike. Though the barrier held, Lin Langtian's face betrayed no relief.

There were still hundreds of those blood blades suspended in the air, ready to strike. Facing such a relentless assault, even his powerful body might be left in tatters.

The Blood Puppet's red eyes fixed on Lin Langtian with a chilling intent as it prepared to unleash another round of devastating attacks.

As the Blood Puppet's roar faded, the countless blades suspended in midair began to hum once more, coalescing together into a singular blade of concentrated blood-red energy, only about ten feet long. Though it was small, even the powerful Zhong Kui and Tang Lie in the sky felt a deep sense of danger emanating from it.

The Blood Puppet had compressed that enormous force of blades into a single, devastating strike.

"Go…" the Blood Puppet rasped, extending its finger toward Lin Langtian with an ominous chill.

ROAR!

With that command, a devilish growl reverberated through the blade, and with a fierce hiss, the blood-red blade shot forward, moving so fast it seemed to pierce through space itself. As it approached, Lin Langtian could feel the sharp pain from its sheer intensity before it even made contact.

Sensing the inevitable strike, Lin Langtian's inner flame roared to life, surging from within as his body ignited with demon flame, and his wings blazed with vermilion fire. The fire within him was pushed to its absolute limit. He knew there was no avoiding this attack.

"Is this the end?" murmured one of the leaders from South River Realm as he watched the scene unfold.

BOOM!

An earth-shaking explosion echoed across the field as the blood energy blade met its target. The ground below fractured instantly, sending shards of rock scattering in every direction.

ROAR!

The Blood Puppet let out a furious roar, sure it had inflicted a mortal wound. Both sides of the battlefield shared this sentiment, acknowledging that such an attack would be enough to take down even Lin Langtian, no matter how tough his body.

Only Qingtan remained unwavering, clenching her hands as her gaze remained fixed on the explosion. She knew that Brother Langtian wouldn't go down so easily.

ROAR!

The Blood Puppet turned its blood-red gaze away from the fiery destruction, focusing now on Qingtan, its intended target.

Tap.

But just as it was about to move, a faint sound of footsteps reached its ears, echoing from the site of the explosion. The Blood Puppet's movement faltered as it turned, eyes narrowing in disbelief. Emerging from the chaos, Lin Langtian strode out, his body covered in blood but his gaze as fierce as ever.

And as he stepped forward, a ring of emerald light encircled him, its power dispelling the oppressive energy of the Blood Puppet's bloody domain.

"If you want to harm Qingtan, you'll have to get past me first!"

BOOM!

An enormous surge of energy exploded from within Lin Langtian, sending waves of pure power throughout the blood-drenched battlefield, scattering the oppressive aura that had surrounded them. The onlookers were shocked at Lin Langtian's powerful comeback, especially as they sensed his energy had risen closer to the peak of the Perfect Stage of Life Xuan. The gap between him and the Blood Puppet had narrowed considerably.

"Is that… the legendary technique from the Dark Palace Grand Festival, the Triple Transformation of the Wood Emperor?" gasped one elderly leader, recognizing the green aura. "He's nearly reached the Perfect Stage of Life Xuan… the Blood Puppet's advantage is slipping."

"But even near-perfect Life Xuan and the Blood Puppet are still in different leagues," argued a middle-aged man nearby. "The Puppet is half a step into Death Xuan, so victory is still uncertain."

In the crowd, Lanyan's gaze glimmered as she watched Lin Langtian. He was like an endless mystery, revealing new power every time he seemed to be at his limit.

"An impressive Shadow Guard for Lady Qingtan. Let's hope he can turn the tide of this battle."

ROAR!

Irritated, the Blood Puppet snarled in frustration, filling the air with immense energy, summoning an ominous blood cloud above its head. Then, it released a pulse of blood-red energy into the cloud, causing it to tremble and writhe, shaping itself into a fearsome weapon.

"Blood… Demon… Purgatory… Spear…" the Blood Puppet rasped, as the cloud above twisted and solidified into a massive, hundred-foot-long blood-red spear. Dark energy swirled around it, and inscribed on its shaft were symbols that exuded a deathly aura.

Lin Langtian looked up at the massive spear, his expression calm and confident. He extended his hands, and with a slow clench, twin flames appeared—black demon flame in his right hand, and bright vermilion flame in his left, within which the faint image of a vermilion bird danced.

"Demon flame in the right, vermilion flame in the left," he murmured with a slight smile. "Let's see how you handle the fusion of these flames."

With a flicker of anticipation, Lin Langtian's inner thoughts echoed, "In honor of the legacy of Douqi Continent… and Xiao Yan."
