Chapter 11

Billy's grip tightened on his wheelchair as fear and frustration coursed through him. His eyes darted to his daughter, Rachel, standing motionless against the wall, and then to his son, Jacob, whose expression remained emotionless. Raizel, sensing Billy's unease, reassured him with a simple statement, "They are fine," redirecting Billy's attention back to him.

"There is no trouble, Billy," Raizel added calmly. Yet, Billy couldn't shake the feeling of unease.

Summoning his courage, Billy asked with a hardened voice, "Who are you?" Raizel responded with a smile, simply stating, "Raziel," before falling into another silence.

Frustrated and desperate for answers, Billy pressed on, "What do you want from me?" However, Raizel's reply came swift and firm, "Nothing," leaving Billy speechless once again.

"I wonder if we could move to the woods," Raizel suggested, seemingly changing the subject. Without waiting for Billy's response, Jacob began to wheel his father's wheelchair outside, followed by Rachel and the others under Raizel's influence.

Feeling a sense of desperation and pleading, Billy implored, "Please, please, please don't…please don't harm my tribe," as he watched his children and fellow tribe members move alongside Raizel, their expressions vacant and controlled.

Raizel, noticing Billy's fear, spoke softly, "Billy, I mean no harm unless you provoke me." His words served as a warning, urging Billy to remain silent.

Silenced by Raizel's warning, Billy observed the strange behavior of his tribe members, realizing that they were under some form of control, likely orchestrated by this monster. Unable to comprehend the situation fully, Billy looked to Raizel for answers.

As the old man became quiet, Raizel decided to explain his intentions. relinquishing half of his control over the others' minds while still maintaining their obedience.

The sudden change left everyone stunned, their eyes wide with disbelief as they struggled with the realization of what was happening to them. Billy glanced at his children, fear reflected in their eyes as they looked back at Raizel.

"I'm aware of what your tribe is capable of," Raizel began, "But it won't do any good if you are not capable of wielding it to your advantage.".

Confusion etched on Billy's face as he struggled to comprehend Raizel's implications. Raizel clarified, "I believe you are aware of the recent animal attacks." Billy's eyes widened.

"I don't want to be involved with them," Raizel continued. "So I've decided to help your Quileute tribe harness its bloodline power to prevent such creatures from causing further trouble.".

Billy voiced his doubt, "How?" as Raizel led them to an open ground. Raizel stopped and turned to face Billy, his expression remain calm. "It's simple," he explained, "all I have to do is trigger a sense of fear, then a sense of will to resist."

With a nod, Raizel turned to the gathered youngsters, including Jacob and Rachel, who looked at him with a mixture of fear and uncertainty, stealing glances at their father. Billy remained with his head bowed, his thoughts racing.

"Let's begin then," Raizel declared, removing his earring, an artifact containing his power. As the earring came off, a surge of aura radiated from Raizel's body, causing the gathered tribe members to tremble under the pressure. One by one, they fell to their knees, unable to resist the overwhelming force.

Using his mind control, Raizel compelled them to resist the pressure, forcing them to push against the invisible weight bearing down on them. Slowly, other than older members of the tribe began to show signs of overheating, their bodies unable to withstand the strain.

As Raizel observed his plan unfolding, he replaced his earring, the release of pressure causing some to lose consciousness. "Good," he remarked calmly, before walking past Billy with a final statement, "You can thank me later, Billy," and vanished into the woods, leaving Billy and his tribe's younger generation.

------------

By night Raizel returned to the mansion, he found Frankenstein waiting for him outside, the concern etched on Frankenstein's face was evident, and Raizel could sense it immediately. Knowing that his brief removal of the seal would have alerted Frankenstein due to their master-servant contract. Also when Raizel loosened his seal, Frankenstein attempted to communicate telepathically soon he could, to which Raizel responded with a simple assurance, "I'm okay, Frankenstein," offering no further explanation.

Upon their return to the mansion, Raizel anticipated Frankenstein's inquiries, but to his surprise, Frankenstein didn't press him for details out of concern. Settling back into his usual spot on the sofa, Raizel waited as Frankenstein prepared his usual tea. It was then that Raizel noticed a file on the side table, catching his attention.

Curious, Raizel picked up the file and began to flip through its pages, a smile spreading across his face as he realized, "I'm not late then." It seemed that whatever was contained within the file brought him a sense of relief or satisfaction, prompting his contented smile.
