Thomas thought for a while, then shook his head and said, "No, our conversation was very ordinary, just the usual catching up. She didn't ask me about you or the ongoing war, nor did she give me anything."

"That's strange," Kaden said.

Thomas said, "I'll take people to patrol the surroundings again, and also send more guards to the outside of Lady Ireya's tent."

"If that female assassin named Selena intended to assassinate the queen, she shouldn't have startled the snake by seeing you first," Kaden analyzed, "but being a little cautious doesn't hurt."

Ireya also said, "She was captured in my room before, and until now we don't know why she failed. She probably won't approach me again before figuring it out."

Thomas returned to his tent, wanting to have a few bites of bread to fill his stomach before patrolling again. But as he grabbed the bread from the plate, his eyes were drawn to the wooden wine cup on the ground.

Remembering Kaden's previous questions, Thomas hastily put down the bread in his hand and returned to the front of Ireya's tent.

The Guard Captain found Kaden and said to the latter, "I just thought of something. When Selena came to see me, she indeed didn't give me anything, but she did take something from me."

"What was it?"

"My wine cup, it contained the honey wine the army issued tonight," Thomas said, "She threw that wine cup to the ground."

Kaden's eyes moved slightly, and without a word, she returned to the tent.

Tonight she also had a cup of the honey wine, but being accustomed to real wine in another realm, Kaden had little interest in this realm's low-degree fake wine.

Thus, she put it down after taking a sip. Kaden brought the cup to her nose, sniffed it, and felt the smell was somewhat pungent.

But she didn't know what real honey wine should smell like, so she handed it to Thomas.

"Smell it and see if there's anything wrong with the scent."

Thomas sniffed it, and after tasting a bit, concluded, "I can't detect anything unusual."

Miss Rabbit was also alarmed by now, coming out of the tent again and seeing Thomas, she asked puzzledly, "Is there something else?"

The Guard Captain said seriously, "Did you drink that cup of honey wine that was sent earlier?"

"Of course."

"Do you feel any discomfort in your body now?"

"No."

Thomas breathed a sigh of relief, "It looks like we might have been overthinking."

But Kaden didn't think so, she looked at Miss Rabbit, "You mentioned to me before about when Allister occupied New Moon Land, those lords opposing him banded together, forming a large military force.

"But during the final battle, that army first lost their commander, then a widespread diarrhea outbreak occurred in the army, leading to a critical defeat. It's said all of this was the doing of the Life Church."

Ireya opened her mouth wide, "Are you suggesting that Cornelia intends to use the same trick on us? But we've always been very cautious.

"This batch of food comes from the Lilania couple's territory. We are helping them recover Golden Valley. They have no reason to harm us.

"And all the water and food brought here were thoroughly checked, and no one has been poisoned so far, right?"

Kaden found it hard to explain the cause of diarrhea to others, and her own medical knowledge was limited.

Fortunately, she knew who would understand these things.

Liu Xuebin, being the only doctor among the servants, even if just a pet doctor, his medical skills were several centuries ahead of his contemporaries on this continent. On this expedition, he was accompanying them as a military doctor.

Kaden quickly found him and shared her previous speculations.

Liu Xuebin blinked, "Diarrhea, huh? Excluding indigestion, cold, and mental causes, it is generally due to bacterial, viral, or fungal infection."

"But several hours have passed since everyone drank the honey wine, and typical bacterial infections should have caused many cases of diarrhea by now. But I haven't received any such patients yet."

"So it was just a false alarm?"

Liu Xuebin didn't answer immediately, after pondering for a moment, he said to Kaden, "Tell me again about that war that happened in New Moon Land and about the Life Church."

After Kaden explained, Liu Xuebin couldn't help but marvel, "Tsk, tsk, tsk, there really are supernatural powers in this universe, but it should be some sort of biological enhancement, still very impressive.

"By the way, don't we have someone in the Church who can communicate with mice? It's truly incredible!"

"Stop being amazed and focus, do you have any clues about the current situation?" Kaden interrupted Liu Xuebin's admiration.

The latter nodded, "If it's not an utterly inexplicable magic, I think the most likely guess is parasites."

"Parasites?"

"Yes, parasites can also cause diarrhea. Parasites generally have a developmental process in the body, sometimes as short as two to three days, sometimes possibly over a month. This could explain why our bodies haven't shown any symptoms yet."

"Can you be sure?" Kaden frowned tightly.

Liu Xuebin shrugged, "What are you thinking, of course not. I have no equipment for testing here, I've already said it's just a guess."

"If it's parasites, can you treat it?"

"Should be possible, as long as it's not an unheard-of parasite. Albendazole, triclabendazole, metronidazole... there should be something that works. I do have a bit here, not much though.

"Because I didn't expect there would be so many people infected with parasites."

"It's fine. Prophet Merlin is coming over tonight, we can ask him to bring more medicine if there's still time."

The appearance of Selena had reawakened the tension in everyone almost giddy with a series of easy victories.

Miss Rabbit specifically dispatched scouts to search for nearby enemies, then increased the number of patrol teams.

But until the next morning, nothing happened.

Lilania and Pibo had arrived to meet with the girl, and together their armies now numbered over twenty thousand.

Also, Ireya's second detachment entered Golden Valley this morning, everything seemed to be moving in a positive direction.

However, Kaden did not let down her guard, instead becoming more convinced of the existence of parasites.

Miss Rabbit halted the supply of honey wine to the officers and also stopped the army from moving forward, but even after much hesitation, she did not choose to heed Duren's advice to retreat to the nearby castle.

Especially after Li Yu returned with quite a bit of anti-insect medicine and a microscope, Liu Xuebin used it to conduct a routine stool examination, found eggs inside, and claimed it was treatable, Miss Rabbit's temptation to fish flared up again.
