Wizard: I Can Refine Everything

Chapter 11: Artifact Spirit, the Development of the Titan Legion

Looking at the motionless lockchain, a cold light flashed in Richard's eyes, and a wave of killing intent instantly enveloped the lockchain.

"If you don't move, I'll destroy you."

As soon as these words were spoken, before Richard's voice even faded, the lockchain instantly moved, accompanied by a faint energy wave.

This energy wave transformed into a line of Abyssal Text in the air.

[Don't act, don't act.]

Richard remained silent, his hand gripping the lockchain began to exert a little force. The lockchain could feel the powerful and overwhelming strength in that hand.

This strength could at any moment disperse its insignificant consciousness.

[Master! Master! My master, please forgive me, this newly born little thing.]

Seeing the lockchain change its tune, the force in Richard's hand dissipated.

"This is your first lesson, Shan Hai."

[Yes, yes, I'll be called Shan Hai. Thank you, Master, for bestowing me a name.]

Having subdued Shan Hai, Richard began testing the intelligence level of this Abyss Demon Armor.

The Abyssal Will had no record of the intelligence level of this grade of Magic Equipment, not because such a grade doesn't exist, Beelzebub's staff, modified from the World Tree, is of the same grade as Shan Hai.

It's just that Beelzebub never bothered testing the wisdom of the Magic Equipment Spirit.

To a Dominator, the Magic Equipment Spirit is too insignificant to warrant concern.

After some tests, Richard was surprised to discover that the Magic Equipment Spirit's intelligence was similar to that of a normal human, equivalent to an advanced intelligent life form.

Furthermore, it was naturally proficient in Abyssal Text and could use the Abyss Curse on its body.

However, its existence was quite peculiar.

The Magic Equipment Spirit doesn't possess a soul, yet it has consciousness, somewhat resembling Nightmare Creatures from the Nightmare World.

"Nightmare Creatures... interesting."

Suddenly, an idea popped into Richard's mind about the Artifact Refining Technique from the Immortal Country civilization, a technique relying on Daoist Text from Alchemy Technology that also speaks of the birth of intelligence in top-level Magical Treasures.

When Immortals from the Immortal Country civilization discovered their Magical Treasures had developed consciousness, they often split a wisp of soul to integrate into the treasures, transforming them into "Artifact Spirits," similar to the Tower Spirit of Wizards.

According to the records of the Supreme Sect, Magical Treasures with Artifact Spirits not only can control intricacies but can autonomously fend off enemies and even serve as a resurrection method for the Immortal.

"Perhaps, I could try the same approach."

Richard split a wisp of soul, and suddenly a Spiritual Fire ignited in his hand.

This Spiritual Fire came from the Fire Spirit God that Richard had subdued in the past, after being brought under control in the Immortal Country, it was placed by Richard in the Dao College as an assistant in the Werewolves' research on Artifact Refining.

Richard had collected a wisp of its Spiritual Fire for research purposes.

Unexpectedly, it came in handy today.

Facing the Spiritual Fire, Shan Hai did not show any resistance; instead, upon being burned by the Spiritual Fire, it felt extremely comfortable, its whole body warmed.

Seeing this, Richard smoothly incorporated the wisp of soul using Fusion Spirit technology into the lockchain borrowed from the Spiritual Fire.

At the moment the soul merged into the lockchain, Richard suddenly shivered.

The next moment, a wave of spiritual power emanated from Shan Hai within the Spiritual Fire.

[Shan Hai greets the Master.]

Richard's brow raised slightly, and then he began a new round of testing.

After finishing this test, Richard confirmed that his split soul had merged entirely with Shan Hai's consciousness.

At this moment, Shan Hai was essentially united with Richard, achieving complete synchrony in thoughts.

With this, whatever Richard wanted Shan Hai to do could be accomplished with a single thought. Even if he fell unconscious, Shan Hai could autonomously fend off enemies.

"Marvelous, truly marvelous," Richard couldn't help but praise, "The Immortal Country civilization indeed deserved to unify an entire World Community and dared challenge the Ninth Level Life civilization.

Even though its system has been cursed, the remaining parts are worth learning from."

After his admiration, Richard immediately documented the entire process of making Magic Equipment and the details of Fusion Spirit.

The emergence of the Artifact Spirit was undoubtedly a pleasant surprise for Richard; it not only involved gaining an Artifact Spirit but also signified the birth of a new technological pathway.

All Abyss Demon Armors would undergo activation, if these armors could possess Artifact Spirits, it would surely be a major revolution for the equipment of Wizards.

After recording, Richard handed the research data over to the Secret Keeper for it to be forwarded to Old Abel for experimentation.

Though theoretically, this technological revolution should be driven by the Alchemy School, this was something Richard himself developed.

As a Miracle Crown, he couldn't possibly hand over such valuable discoveries to other Schools.

After finishing all this, Richard returned to the Abyss World to start manipulating Shan Hai.

Shan Hai's main purpose remained the spell entrusted to him by the King of Titans, which involved swallowing Power of Abyss to continuously increase weight via the Abyss Curse.

However, over the past two years, Richard had greatly modified it.

He greatly increased the upper limit of this spell, adding a defense function.

This turned it into a seemingly rather useless defense spell.

Once transformed into Shan Hai, its main feature was that after absorbing the power of the Abyss, the material of Shan Hai became extremely heavy and hard, ignoring the Great Fragmentation Skill.

Besides the spell as the main body, Richard added numerous enchantments for attack on the chain.

Such as Soul Shock, Great Fragmentation Skill, Flesh Mutation, Barrier Vibration...

The main material of Shan Hai is pure ether liquid crystal, which has the property of energy absorption and replication. After absorbing energy, a replica will form among the pure ether liquid crystals.

This secondary form is nearly identical to the main body, and as long as energy flows, the structure can remain stable.

By utilizing this trait on Magic Equipment, the equipment also gains the characteristic of infinite extension.

Using this trait, Richard added these attack enchantments to the two ends of the chain to ensure that during use, it would not interfere with the operation of the Abyss Curse.

Richard injected energy, and Shan Hai quickly extended over Richard's body, turning into a set of chain armor.

At the same time, Shan Hai continued to absorb the power of the Abyss, making it even heavier.

In just a moment, Richard felt as if a small mountain was on his back.

But this was far from his limit, and far from the limit of the Abyss Titan.

After experiencing the evolutionary pressure of Samuel, his physique had reached nine thousand five hundred points.

In those two years, Richard, using his free time, used Furnace Man technology to modify Beelzebub's life virus, which brought about more subspecies of the virus.

With these subspecies, Richard's physique reached a limit of ten thousand points over two years.

However, this was merely the limit of physique, not the limit of the system of life code.

Richard's life core is incredibly complex, which means he has tremendous evolutionary potential.

He must completely exhaust this potential for evolution to qualify for breaking the limit.

Ignoring the steadily increasing weight of the chains on his body, Richard moved with a thought, teleporting thousands of kilometers away.

In a vast abyss tens of thousands of kilometers outside the World Tree, there was a blood and flesh structure resembling a pyramid, slowly writhing.

Around it, a group of towering Abyss Titans were drilling in the Titan Battle Formation under Talal Peak's command.

"Focus! Don't get distracted! Concentrate all your attention!"

Talal Peak's voice was ice-cold as he roamed among the ranks, holding an iron whip with barbs. If he noticed any Titan's spiritual power wandering, he'd lash their spines fiercely.

After one round, his iron whip was covered in shredded flesh and dark red blood.

Yet, such teaching proved effective.

Under his urging, the entire Titan military formation appeared extraordinarily coordinated, almost as if they were well-wound Alchemy Puppets.

"They already have some form," Richard said, smiling as he approached Talal Peak's side.

Talal Peak shook his head: "They are far off. They've barely learned the 888 basic military formations of the Titans. They haven't learned any of the more advanced formations.

Moreover, their weaponry isn't finalized, and once fixed, the legion needs micro-adjustments according to the equipment.

Alas, after being devoured for so many years, much of the memory has been lost. I'm not even good at training people anymore."

"No need to blame yourself for that," Richard comforted, "New era, new legions, and the news from the frontline is good. Guided by Shaping Power, the Wizards have conquered a world devoured by a Civilization Devourer.

It's okay for the Titan Legion to move a bit slower."

Talal Peak sighed helplessly. Though he loathed admitting it, the era of Titans was officially over.

Due to Richard, the modern Abyss Titans are more a branch of Wizards than actual Titans.

Richard cast his gaze toward the distant flesh pyramid, Beelzebub's creation, an Abyssal Nest capable of breeding Abyss Titans.

"An old master dominator is truly an old master; his craft is exquisite. Even though I possess all his knowledge, crafting such a delicate creation is immensely difficult."

While Richard could tap into Beelzebub's knowledge, he could not replicate the experience, or the way of thinking honed from Beelzebub's years of research.

"Has this nest been spread?" Richard asked, turning his head.

"Not yet," Talal Peak shook his head, "Beelzebub is still refining it; it seems he made new discoveries while manufacturing the nest.

He seems to have found a way to conserve cultivation resources."

Titans indeed have great potential, but this also implies a significant resource requirement for their growth.

Even with the Abyss Evolution Field, Titan development demands vast amounts of advanced flesh and various rare alchemy materials.

Obtaining advanced flesh is straightforward, but alchemy materials are a bit pricey.

"Conserving resources? That would be great. However, we still need a Four Elements Creation Machine," Richard sighed.

Every Titan is a Gold Swallowing Beast. Even the Shepherd Star Titan Civilization took the elite route, deploying only a million Titans per world.

Talal Peak said nothing in response; to him, having a Four Elements Creation Machine was a standard for a civilization.

Civilizations that cannot create with the Four Elements get eliminated in the first round of civilization wars.
