Who hid My Corpse!

Chapter 65: Divine Stele

A day later, on the outskirts of the Abyss Prison, amid the vast yellow sands, two figures slowly emerged—a man and a woman.

It was none other than Hewinia and Edwin, who had been walking in the No-man's Land for a day and a night.

Considering the previous battle at Delar Town, Hewinia hadn't had a proper rest for a long time. Even with the support of the Seven Notes and bones, her face inevitably showed fatigue. It was only when she finally stepped out of the sand and saw the suddenly clear scenery that the fatigue on her face turned to surprise.

"We really arrived?" Hewinia looked at the massive and ancient building in the distance and asked, "Is that the Contract Land?"

"Huff, huff... To be precise, it's here that is the Contract Land." Edwin pointed to the ground beneath them, "Stepping out of the sand, huff, huff... means we're already standing on the land of the Contract Land, huff huff."

Such a long journey, even Hewinia felt exhausted; Edwin's condition was naturally worse, panting like an old cow about to drop dead, yet his eyes remained lively. Hewinia had no doubt that if his stamina allowed, Edwin would have run all the way, even if it meant dying suddenly.

It seems the power of Visas is indeed alluring, even capable of making one feel youthful; otherwise, how would Edwin, this grandpa figure, pant like a grandson?

Hewinia quietly remarked in her heart but outwardly maintained her calm: "So where is the place we need to go?"

"The Abyss Prison." Edwin raised his hand, pointing ahead, "The core area of the Contract Land, just walk to the end from here."

Hewinia looked up and saw a series of dilapidated houses with yellow tiles in front.

"Is that the Abyss Prison?"

Hewinia frowned slightly, clearly finding it hard to believe that the Contract Land and Abyss Prison of legend would be established in such a rudimentary place. It didn't seem to have inherited for a thousand years, more like it had been abandoned for a thousand years.

"Don't be deceived by the appearance here." Edwin said, "Starting from here, we are already standing before the first barrier of the Abyss Prison."

The first barrier?

Right here?

Hewinia observed carefully but couldn't discern what the barrier in front of her was.

"You don't believe it, huh." Edwin laughed, "Then just walk a little further and you'll understand."

Of course, Hewinia wouldn't foolishly charge forward; she merely watched Edwin calmly, saying nothing.

After a moment, Edwin raised his hands in surrender: "Alright, alright, I was just kidding. I'll go in with you, don't worry. This barrier isn't dangerous; at least it's the safest of the four major barriers."

"Four major barriers?"

"Yes." Edwin nodded slightly, "There are four entrances on the outskirts of the Abyss Prison. The end of this entrance is where the Divine Steles created by the Gods stand. These four Divine Steles collectively guard the Abyss Prison. Even if outsiders were to fortuitously reach here, without understanding the power of the four Divine Steles, they still wouldn't be able to enter the Abyss Prison."

Four Divine Steles?

Sounds like a closely guarded secret, then how does Edwin know about it?

"I know what you're wondering." Edwin shrugged, "I'm so familiar with the four Divine Steles... No, to be precise, I'm only familiar with the one Divine Stele before us."

Hearing Edwin say this, Hewinia understood something: "Is this Divine Stele created by the Lord of Eternal Nightmare?"

"That's right, and not only created; for a thousand years, the Eternal Nightmare has also been responsible for its maintenance." Edwin said, "And its last maintainer happens to be me."

So that's how it is.

Hewinia reflected thoughtfully.

No wonder Bai Wei chose Edwin; it seems it was planned all along.

"Let's go." Edwin stepped forward, "Just follow closely, I'll guide you."

Seeing Edwin already stepped inside, Hewinia hesitated no longer and followed up, while asking, "What's the name of this Divine Stele?"

Edwin replied: "Microsleep Divine Stele."

Microsleep Divine Stele?

Upon hearing this name, Hewinia instantly felt a strong drowsiness overwhelming her, the fatigue of many days rushed like a tide, forcing her to close her eyes.

But within a second, she snapped back to full awareness, abruptly opening her eyes to see Edwin leading the way ahead, surrounded by houses intact, with inhabitants gazing at her curiously from under the houses.

Hewinia felt nothing amiss, she quickly caught up to Edwin.

...

"Master, you are here."

The servant respectfully bowed slightly towards Diana, along with the Guardian beside him paying homage.

"Good afternoon, Contractor."

Diana nodded slightly, then wrapped her collar to prevent the chilling wind from piercing her body.

Then she raised her head, gazing at the massive Divine Stele in front of her that seemed to blot out the sky.

The Divine Stele was engraved with dense spells, powerful magic power surged between them, as for the source of this magic power...

Diana's gaze lowered, looking upon the suppliers sitting quietly beneath the Divine Stele, bound in chains.

Their eyes were tightly shut, faces pale, and a thick layer of frost coated their bodies.

This is one of the four Divine Steles, the "Ice Curse Divine Stele."

Diana asked: "Is everything normal?"

"Reporting to Contractor, everything is normal." The Guardian responded.
