Attacking Adam from behind after suddenly appearing behind him, Han Qiqiang thought that he had caught him off guard and would be able to deal him a fatal blow.
However, despite surprising him, it wasn't easy to land a blow on Adam when he wasn't holding back.
But Adam was shocked that he had even been forced to a point that he had to use his full speed for a split second, and Han Qiqiang had definitely surpassed his expectations.
But the finalist of arguably the biggest combat tournament in the world couldn't be that simple, and their true battle was only just beginning.
Spinning with great speeds and blocking the attack with his daggers, Adam fended off the strike and pushed Han Qiqiang back as he also moved away from him.
"How did you do that?" Adam asked, but Han Qiqiang didn't respond and just burst toward him.
Just as their daggers were about to clash, he suddenly disappeared once again and appeared behind Adam, and when Adam turned to face him, he disappeared a second time.
Unable to turn around in time, Adam's back received a shallow slash by his daggers, but also dealt Han Qiqiang a slash of his own to his arm as he spun around.
Adam just couldn't understand how that was possible and so didn't the crowd, who began cheering for Han Qiqiang, believing him to actually be Death and wanting him to come out on top.
Clashing multiple more times, with Han Qiqiang being able to appear behind Adam during their exchanges of attacks, it became clear to Adam that he only seemed to be able to appear behind him.
But how that ability worked was still a mystery to him, all until he realised the pattern with all his changes and a flicker of light.
"It's shadows isn't it?" Adam realised.
"You finally figured it out, but it doesn't matter. And if you've realised anyway, tehre's no point trying to hide it anymore."
As he said that, he suddenly blended into his shadow on the ground and all that was left was his shadow on the ground that move around at incredible speeds.
How such an ability even worked was beyond Adam and he could guess that it had similarities to Cole's ability, but to become a shadow was just unheard of.
Was there even a way to harm him while he was in that state?
Flinging blades of energy towards the shadow, it was like a snake and was even faster than Han Qiqiang normally was, as it avoided all of them and blitzed his way.
From the fact he avoided the attacks while in the form of a shadow, Adam was quite confident he wasn't invincible in that state, and already had an idea of what he was capable of.
If he used shadows, he relied on the absence of light, so all he needed to do was ensure there was light all around him, which would eliminate his own shadow that Han Qiqiang could move in and out of.
Radiating energy from his body, Adam began to glow and in the process eliminated his own shadow as Han Qiqiang jumped out of his shadow and attacked him.
"You can't beat me, even if you are releasing light, where there is light, there is always darkness," he stated as spikes burst out of his shadow and stabbed at Adam, who was struggling to deal with the shadow and dagger attacks.
Being pushed back and sustaining some injuries, he smashed his fist into the ground using the Ground-Breaking Explosive Strike Skill, which caused Han Qiqiang to lose his footing.
His fist was so powerful it caused a small earthquake, and with Han Qiqiang losing balance, he followed it up with a powerful strike to his abdomen, launching him into the air.
Then jumping into the air above him, Adam smashed him into the ground, before landing on top of him with both his feet, crushing his body and embedding him deeper into the ground.
"Your ability is weird and impressive, as well as your skills. But you aren't my match and this entire time you have only been right about one thing. Death doesn't lose," he said, before smashing his foot into Han Qiqiang's face.
"If anyone else tries to impersonate a friend of mine, I will crush them as well," he announced as he lifted up Han Qiqiang from his hair.
"This man is a fraud, and although skilled, is nothing special. I am the winner of your tournament and all of you that took your time out to watch these battles remember these words. Death is inevitable, but messing with Death will make it come much much sooner."
Throwing Han Qiqiang's body, Adam was about to walk off before even officially being declared as the winner, but before he could someone suddenly jumped into the arena.
Somehow, not only were they able to get past all the security and through the barrier, but they had been able to do so seamlessly as the figure landed on the other side of the arena to Adam.
Then an instant later, he was in front of Adam.
"I can't believe it. It's the young master of the Martial Arts Union."
"He's shown himself for the first time in years."
"He's so handsome."
"I wonder who's stronger."
The crowd couldn't contain himself, while Adam sensed immense power coming from him and knew he was a force to be reckoned with.
But he didn't know him and had no enmity with him, so what did he want and why did he get in his way?
"What do you want?" Adam asked directly as he went to walk past him.
Smiling he responded, "I challenge you to a battle."
"What?!"
"The young master vs the youth champion!"
"And why should I accept your challenge? I've already won the tournament," asked Adam, who was itching to face him, sensing great power from him, but curious about his intentions.
"I never thought Death would need a reason for combat. Or are you afraid?"
