NOVEL NEXT Chapter 557: Ever-increasing Power
No one would have thought that the Lethal Arrow, the young quarter-finalist that was unbelievably skilled in the bow would ditch her bow.
But those that knew of the Wolf Transformation that those from the Hidden Wolf Clan were capable of knew just how powerful it was.
Their bloodline was ancient and over millennia they had formed methods to cultivate it and get deeper to their roots, and they truly could be thought of as werewolves, with their ability becoming unrestrained, wild and much more powerful when there were full moons.
Because of that and the desire to remain secluded, they remained in hiding in their woodland territory that the Martial Arts Union wouldn't intrude on, out of respect and reverence.
They were a peaceful clan, but when push came to shove, they were a force to be reckoned with and could wipe out countries with their forces.
However, they seemed to have declined as a clan and not many knew of them, but for the first time in many years, one of the clan members had appeared outside of their territory.
Known for their archery and refined combat styles, that would all go out of the window once they transformed and it was said that although the transformations wouldn't last too long, in that time, they were unstoppable beasts.

Slashing at Adam, even with him using the speed of an early Master Level Cultivator, he was being utterly overwhelmed by her speed that was incredible, and he had wounds all over his body.
Moving on all fours, she had great balance and explosive bursts of speeds that were hard to match, but Adam was remaining calm and actually enjoying herself, as he learnt from how she moved.
It appeared to be natural to her to move in such a way, but from it, he formed a makeshift skill that mimicked that style of movement, that increased his speed and made it slightly easier to match up against her.
The two of them flickered around the arena and from how injured Adam was, and from the fact that he had only landed a few attacks on her, it was widely thought that he had finally lost.
However, they never expected for him to pick up her bow, the treasured bow that only she could use and other opponents had been unable to even get their hands on.
As soon as he grabbed the bow, he felt some resistance from the bow as if it had its own consciousness, but with the King Ring, it was easy to dominate the bow's spirit and allow him to wield it.
And it made him feel slightly more powerful, as he fired arrow after arrow at his opponent, who furiously dashed over to him.
She wasn't completely thinking straight, but seeing him grab her bow and be able to use it, she was enraged, but Adam was in control of the battle now.
Her speed was great, but the arena was large and there was only so much she could do, as he continued keeping his distance and forming energy barriers to defend against her and trap her, then strike her with arrows.
After a few minutes, despite all the arrows she had taken on and injuries she had sustained, her wildness and energy hadn't diminished in the slightest, and it was actually the opposite.
Every single small cut on her body would recover almost instantly and the longer the battle went on, similar to Gong Yunru's Fire Fury, the angrier she would become and the more powerful she would become.
It was reaching a point that Adam was struggling to control the battle even with the bow and all the skills he was using, and she had even started to smash through the barriers he was producing and the arrows were struggling to pierce through her skin.
He was amazed, but he noticed that she was losing control and wanted to end the battle before she went too far and caused herself damage, and before she grew too powerful that he couldn't beat her without using more of his power.

Appearing beside her, he struck the back of her neck with great force, believing it would be enough to knock her unconscious, but to his surprise, she still clutched onto her consciousness.
Instead, she went to slash him in the neck and if he reacted even a split second later, she would have ripped out his throat, and he countered with an elbow strike to her jaw.
His strike stunned her for an instant, and he had the opportunity to take her down, and decided to do so in the surest, simple and least damaging way.
Then wrapping his arm around her neck and forcing her to the ground, she squeezed as hard as he could and endured the pain from her digging her claws into his sides and trying to break out of his grip.
Her struggle didn't last long and when he felt her body go limp and observed that her transformation started to become undone, he released his grip and placed her on the ground.
Then picking up her bow and placing it beside her, he walked out of the arena and respected his opponent's performance, and was also curious about that transformation of hers and her clan.
On his way out of the arena, it was announced that he was the victor and the crowd were going wild over his step skip skill, since even the greatest of martial artists there couldn't see his speed, which meant that he must have been able to teleport or use some sort of illusion.
As soon as he was announced as the victor, a few figures that wore wolf masks appeared in the arena and picked up the Lethal Arrow's body as well as her bow, before disappearing into thin air.
And a few seconds after, another figure in a wolf mask appeared before Adam.
Obviously, he was on edge and ready to fight, but he didn't sense any hostility and it wasn't like he had done anything to offend the Hidden Wolf Clan either.
But just what did the figure want?
