While Others Cultivate, I LVL UP In My Sleep Using The Dungeon System

Chapter 555: Lethal Arrow

The second day wasn't as eventful and engaging as the first day, with the Martial Arts Union setting up the matches to weed out the weak and keep the strong in the tournament.

But the same few individuals continued to win their battles with ease and made their opponents look like children, and were clearly the best of the best of the young generation.

The battles were progressing steadily, and it was in the middle of the third day that the quarter final finally began, and only the strongest remained, with Su Lan and Adam being among them.

It was also on the third day that Gong Yunru had regained consciousness after his wild display of great power, and the first thing he did was head towards the arena to watch the matches and also speak to Adam.

He wanted to apologise to him and also thank him for the opportunity to be in the nationals, and also for the indirect help he had given him that allowed him to unlock his Fire Fury.

Managing to speak to Adam just before the quarter finals, Gong Yunru was glad that Adam didn't hold any hard feelings, and it was quite the opposite.

Adam was glad that he had gotten to fight against him and gave him a few tips on how to control his Fire Fury, which made Gong Yunru eager to get back to training to one day be able to defeat him.

The first battle in the quarter final was between Adam and a young woman who called herself the Lethal Arrow.

Planning to fight using his opponent's moves, Adam almost lost his life when restricting his power to the peak of the Advanced Cultivation Level and was overwhelmed much more than when he fought again Gong Yunru.

She used a special bow that Adam couldn't replicate, and the arrows she formed out of her energy were extremely fast, almost impossible to dodge or block with merely the power of a peak Advanced Cultivator.

But obviously, she wasn't only capable of using the bow, and watching her previous battles, Adam observed that even when an opponent closed in on her, she was extremely fast and wielded a short blade.

The way she fought focused on stealth, but sadly for her, it was the same for Adam.

Using the Ghost Steps Movement Skill that he had gotten from Nathaniel's subordinate, Adam left behind a series of afterimages and seemed to disappear as he blended with his surroundings.

He had improved and mastered the Ghost Steps Movement Skill to an almost perfect level, and he quickly closed in on her, with her shooting arrows at his afterimages.

But impressively as he reached her, she had been able to jump back and fire an arrow toward him, sensing his approach with her sharp senses.

There was no way she could have sensed him with her spiritual sense, and Adam observed that she had closed her eyes, which left only her hearing and sense of smell to be able to sense him.

"That's why they call their family the Hidden Wolf Clan. It seems as though they have characteristics of a wolf, and from the way she fights, she is definitely used to fighting in a woodland biome," said Adam to himself, as he stopped using the Ghost Steps.

As soon as he did, an arrow burst towards him, aiming for the centre of his forehead, and if he hadn't used either the Step Skip Skill or power that surpassed the Advanced Cultivation Level, it could have killed him.

Catching the arrow, using the power of an early Master Cultivator, she was shocked that he was so fast, and those that were watching, other than Elder Bingwen and Su Lan, were surprised that his cultivation surpassed that of the peak Advanced Cultivation Level.

They had thought that maybe he focused on training his flames, body and skills, which was why his cultivation level was quite low.

However, they never expected that he had actually been holding back the entire time.

It made all the cultivators that Adam had defeated in the tournament feel ashamed of themselves, and Adam was also annoyed that he had been forced to use more power.

But it was a good thing that he did, as it seemed that the Lethal Arrow had also been holding back.

Suddenly firing three arrows in one go, he managed to narrowly avoid them, but as they flew past him, they turned around and flew towards him from behind.

And as they did, she fired three more arrows towards him, leaving him surrounded by attacks, pretty sure that it would be enough to take him done and get the victory.

Unlike what she was expecting, Adam managed to block the three arrows that were coming from behind him with a variant of the Air Palm Strike, not wanting to use the actual skill since it had come from his master who was one of the ancients.

Then he had a split second to block or avoid the other three arrows, but suddenly they changed direction and flew towards the ground.

Adam's instincts warned him there was still danger despite the arrows striking the ground, as he jumped back, and when the arrows hit the ground, they exploded and the power of the explosion was nothing to be scoffed at.

And while he was jumping back, three more arrows burst toward him.

She was definitely skilled in the use of the bow and even with the use of the Mind Ring, he couldn't differentiate between which of her arrows were normal and which ones were explosive.

But that was to be expected, for her to have made it to the quarter final, and it was a good opportunity for Adam to work on his ranged combat.

Obviously, Adam had wielded a bow before, but not to the level of his opponent and what better way to improve than in the middle of a battle.

However, this battle was not going to be as easy to win as his others.
