The leader of the large group of attackers wasn't only doing it for his son that had been crippled by Adam, but also to take down one of the rising talents that came out of their region.
He couldn't allow such a capable young talent to live, and now he decided that it was even more important to eliminate Su Lan no matter the consequences.
Making sure that throughout the process he hadn't left any traces of himself, he was confident it was unlikely to be linked to him, and even if it was, he was more than willing to go into hiding.
But, Adam and Su Lan must die!
Their numbers had dwindled to a mere dozen, but Su Lan was most wary of those that were left who didn't wait to attack because they were weak, but because they were the most powerful in the group.
She was panting heavily and had been dealt two fatal blows, along with most of her Internal Energy being depleted, so there was no way she could still come out on top.
And yet she still stood strong and held her bloodied sword, ready to fight until her last breath.
She truly was a brave and powerful cultivator that deserved respect, but their admiration of her just made them want to strike her down even more.

Dashing towards her, they began attacking her from multiple different directions dealing her so many blows and wounds all over her body that she could barely even stand anymore.
Her body was pouring out blood, and it was only a matter of time before she lost consciousness, and not long after, died, if she didn't get medical attention soon.
And yet she still tried her best to fight and managed to take down a few more opponents, which amazed them even more, considering that she could barely stand.
She was only retaining consciousness through sheer willpower alone and the few that were left didn't even bother attacking her as they watched her collapse to her knees.
Managing to take down almost a hundred cultivators that were equally as powerful or even more powerful than her in terms of cultivation level, she was one of the greatest of their generation.
A beast that had somehow grown so powerful ever since coming across the dark horse of the tournament, and it made the leader of the group of attackers curious as to how she had grown so powerful.
His greedy and cautious nature caused him to do what he did next.
Suddenly disappearing from where he stood, the last of the members of the large group that he had put together that were gathered around Su Lan, were taken down by him in seconds.
"Why...?" asked the last of them.
"Never leave any loose ends and always reap the rewards for yourself," he answered, before gouging out his throat with his hand and watching him die.
He didn't want to leave any of those involved in the attack alive and also wanted to keep the secret of Su Lan's progress for himself, so he could grow more powerful.
"I will avenge you, son," he mumbled to himself as he walked over to Su Lan who was barely conscious.
Scoffing, Adam couldn't help but laugh as he got up and scratched his head, acting as if he was confused about what was happening.
The truth was, Adam knew everything that was occurring and had been watching with his spiritual sense while laying there and acting as though he was unconscious.
Before the attackers even neared Su Lan's home, Ava had already warned him of their attack and when she did, he returned to his body.
However, he didn't act, wanting to see how capable Su Lan was and if he felt that her life was at risk, he could have acted at any moment.
And he couldn't help but be impressed by her performance that was unbelievable.
After seeing her fight her hardest with her life on the line, he was sure she could take down the Branch Master they had come across and maybe even give him a good fight.
Taking down such a large army of cultivators while protecting him, Adam nodded his head in satisfaction as he looked around at all the blood and gore all around the small mountain her home was on.
The entire mountain peak had been dyed red, and she fought as hard as she could, making him proud and glad that he had helped her out.
And this battle would be a big help for her and would allow her to progress a lot, as it is life and death battles that would allow people to surpass their limits and unleash their full power.
"So you're awake. Let me kill this one first, then I will take my time with you," said the leader as he went to slice off Su Lan's head with his hand.
Adam's body flickered as it appeared before him and grabbed his wrist, and he had done so using his speed alone and not the Step Skip Skill, which just went to show the gap in power.
"You're that fatty's father, right? I spared his life, and you dare to come here and fuck with me. Even going as far to harm a friend of mine!" Adam yelled as he unleashed his killing intent, forcing the man to his knees.
A Grandmaster Level Cultivator being utterly dominated by a mere youth, it was unheard of.
Adam could have saved her at any moment, but it was a good experience for Su Lan despite how much it pained him to see her struggle to save his life.
However, that didn't change the fact that he was the cause of everything and was out to kill them both.
"Now it's my turn to have some fun," said Adam, still bearing his killing intent over him.
But it seemed as though he didn't have much time to have his fun, as he sensed an aura that he recognised heading their way.
