Chapter 205: Three Punches to Disperse the Savage Rage
When Smith Dole saw the Abomination stop attacking, he frowned. Realizing the other's strength couldn't increase like the Hulk's, he decided to knock him out before he became a nuisance.
Blonsky, having halted his assault, saw Smith charging at him and felt death looming over him. He shouted quickly,
"Mr. Smith! I'm Blonsky — I'm on your side!"
Smith's fist stopped right in front of the Abomination's face, the passing wind ruffling the monster's head.
"Then change back. Don't get in my way here," Smith said coldly, glaring hard. All that rage earlier, and now you want to back down?
Feeling the icy tone, Blonsky swore he felt sweat trickle down his skull.
He was bitterly aware of the truth — he'd chosen to stop being human, becoming an ugly monster, only to find himself weaker than the Hulk and beaten into clarity by Smith.
"I'll try, I'll try," he said quickly. "First time transforming — I'm not fully in control."
With effort, Blonsky forced himself out of Abomination form and back into his human body. Unlike Banner, his monstrous form had only one consciousness and limited strength. Banner, on the other hand, had two minds and a Hulk whose power grew with anger — a unique existence.
Once back in human form, Blonsky ran toward the military's position. Smith's gaze shifted to the Hulk, and he charged at him.
"Hulk… smash!" the green giant roared, furious. Every time he appeared, this man attacked him — twice now!
Their fists collided with explosive force, shattering the remaining glass in the area. By now, no civilians dared remain in the battle zone; even Blonsky had run off Broadway.
Reaching a military vehicle, Blonsky shouted, "I'm Blonsky! Get me General Ross on the line!"
The soldiers, not recognizing the Abomination but knowing Blonsky, tossed him a uniform and connected the call.
From the helicopter, Ross — having already seen him revert — took the call.
"Blonsky, what the hell is going on?"
"I did it, General," Blonsky said quickly. "That other big guy just now — that was me. I injected Banner's material, and after transforming, I'm still in control. The first transformation brings a violent impulse, but once it's vented, or if I'm left alone to focus, I can suppress it and return to normal."
He wasn't stupid. He knew rampaging through Broadway had caused trouble. If he didn't prove his value now, he'd end up in court-martial — maybe locked away for life.
Ross's eyes lit up. His guess had been right. "Get on my helicopter. We need to talk about your little unauthorized injection."
"Yes, sir!" Blonsky saluted. Ross nodded — still a soldier. But he'd need to see if the giant form was as disciplined.
…
Smith kept hammering at Hulk, verbally goading him to increase his rage while ramping up his own attacks, carefully controlling the force so he wouldn't scare Hulk back into Banner. With his power newly boosted, he needed a worthy opponent.
Smith was now using 500 battle power — already surpassing the Kamehameha he'd used last time. Hulk, fueled by anger and breaking past the suppressant in his body, had reached 450.
"Roar!"
Hulk felt like he was just about to surpass his enemy — but every time, Smith's power jumped again. It infuriated him further.
Clang! Clang! Clang!
Their blows clashed repeatedly before Hulk staggered back, healed, and charged again. Smith crossed his arms and kicked him to the ground.
"Come on," Smith taunted. "Show me your real strength."
Hulk slammed his fists into the pavement. "HULK!"
His frame seemed to swell, battle power spiking from 450 to 600. He charged with a shoulder slam.
Boom!
Smith hadn't ramped up further yet and was smashed through a building.
Beating his chest like a gorilla, Hulk bellowed, "HULK STRONGEST!"
Smith, climbing from the rubble, was grinning. "Good… that's it."
Boom!
With a burst of energy, he pushed his battle power to 780 and charged again, pounding Hulk into submission.
…
From the helicopter, Ross had to watch the fight in slow motion to even follow it; with the naked eye, he could only hear the deafening impacts.
Betty, watching Bruce get pummeled, turned to Ross. "Father, help him."
Ross glanced at her. "Don't be ridiculous. Smith won't kill him. Can't you see? He's testing Hulk's limits — maybe even helping Banner regain control, like Blonsky."
