Welcome To Tomorrow: When The Gods Gave Me A New World

Kazu wakes with Anna cuddled up to him like normal on one side, Arwain in one of Kazu's shirts cuddled up on the other side. Kazu, while laying in bed with his pseudo-wife and pseudo-daughter, is thinking about his life and what the last few weeks were like.

It has been five weeks since Petal, Arwain and her girls joined the household. Petal and Arwain have been teaching them Vaynish, the human language. Their vocabulary has expanded 10 fold, and they can read and write well enough to fill out their paperwork at the Hunters Lodge now. Kazu is convinced that they can fluently answer any questions the proctor or Tara may ask.

Kazu has been teaching the sisters, Anna and the twins how to fight, and to use magic. The orc sisters took well to the fighting, but have limited use of magic. According to Tara some races are very adept at magic, but Orcs are not. Their limited magic abilities come from their mothers' sides. Orelfa can use basic nature magic, and Orolfie can use basic water magic. Both are fairly adept at strengthening magic. Kazu is sure that it is their fighting prowess that will get them a hunters card. When they first started training he found them lacking in technique, but their speed and strength alone would have placed them in D rank. After a month of training Kazu is sure they should end up getting a B-ranked card.

As comfortable as he is laying with two of his girls Kazu knows he needs to get up. Orelfa and Orolfie passed his test, and are going to test at the lodge today. Two weeks ago Kazu had his rank increased to A rank, Anna finally tested and received a C rank, mostly because of her magic which has increased to 3200 capacity, and the twins joined as D ranks. 

Felina impressed the proctor when she summoned a Steelclaw Lion, and in two swipes of its claws it sliced up the dummy into kindling, leaving only the steel core mostly intact. The proctor had many questions about her magic and how she learned it. He kept her occupied with questions for over an hour. She is officially the only summoner and beast tamer ever known to the hunter's lodge. In the defensive fight she used her speed and flexibility to her advantage dodging and weaving around her attackers. At one point she used her shadow magic to disappear into the shadows, only to reappear clinging on an attackers back.

Felix also impressed the proctor in his own way, using metal and electrical magic to create magnetic fields. He used these two magics to fire metal spikes into the dummy from multiple angles. Then using just metal magic he used the steel core in the dummy to shred it from the inside out. Like his sister the proctor bombarded him with questions for about an hour, asking the same basic questions as his sister. In the defensive test, much like his sister he used his agility to his advantage. 

Neither of the twins have much strength, so Kazu trained them more like a thief or assassin, all speed, agility, stealth and quietly casting magic. Kazu's test before they could get their Hunter's card was to have them take something from someone in the house without being caught doing it. The only stipulation he had was he had to witness it, proving that they did it while the target was awake and able to catch them. 

Using shadow magic Felina stole Lina's apron, while she was wearing it. Petal was helping Lina cook when she took it, and she did not get caught by either. 

Not to be outdone, Felix took Orolfie's skirt, belt and knife while she was carrying a half asleep Arwain. Using the recently learned light magic he warped the light reflected off himself so he would appear to not be there from Orolfie's location. 

Orolfie did not notice until a few minutes later when she was placing Arwain on her bed. Arwain asked her why she was wandering around the house in just a shirt. Orolfie, with a look of confusion blushes a bit, looks at Kazu who is in the hallway looking at her curiously, with a smile she says something about enjoying the breeze. 

Kazu smiles back and says "It's a nice breeze." 

Which elicited a wink from Orolfie, and a little extra sway to her hips as she goes to her dresser to get something to cover her lower half.

Kazu's thoughts then shift to other non-hunter related events that occurred in the last month.

In his bag Kazu found a 356 mm telescope that his family used to take out to the country to take photos of the moon and stars. He turned the old workshop into an observatory, and the girls and Felix have spent many hours viewing the moons and stars through it. He showed them how to calculate the distance to the moons along with the other basics of astronomy. Arwain and Lina were the most interested in learning about all things space, they both spent hours asking him questions. On movie night he played several space documentaries, glossing over their questions about the planets and moons in his old solar system. In the weeks since the telescope was installed they discovered five planets. Kazu took pictures with his digital camera, and everyone looked over the images for hours.

Anna stirs him from his contemplations and he gets out of bed and begins dressing for the day. Halfway through dressing Orolfie and Orelfa excitedly come into the room.

Orolfie stops to jokingly complain. "Awww, you are already up, here I was hoping to get you up." she said with a smirk. "You ready to take us both… to get our cards?"

Kazu smiles and kisses the sisters foreheads good morning. "The Vaynish lessons have really paid off, you are able to effectively produce innuendos at will now. Also, good morning everyone… welcome to tomorrow. I take it you two are ready to test? Orolfie, are you going to test in a skirt? Shorts might be better, I know how much you enjoy a breeze, but the proctor might see more than your moves." 

Orolfie blushes and laughs, "No need to worry, as uncomfortable as I find them, I am wearing my undercloth. No need to get jealous, there will be no pretty views for the... test giver… person."

Anna pipes up, "So what you are saying is the views he got during training were on purpose? You dirty girl, we'd give you a spankin' if we thought you would not enjoy it."

Orelfa pipes up, "Don't threaten her with a good time, we'll never leave."

Kazu is now ready to head out. The two sisters head to town with him, everyone else stays at the house. Petal has decided to join Lina as a maid, Arwain and Anna go out to the fields to check on the crops. Felix and Felina head out to patrol the property and practice the skills Kazu has taught them. Rask is in the new building working with the new tools Kazu provided or built. 

After a very familiar trip they arrive at the nearest town gate, the guard lets them in without any problems. Inside the town most people do not even notice Kazu and the orc sister and the few that do nod in greeting. Arriving at the Hunters Lodge, Tara greets them, gives them the paperwork to fill out, then calls for the proctor.

A few moments later Mica arrives looking at Kazu with a bit of worry on his face.

Kazu says, "No need to fret Mica, I am not testing today, Orolfie and Orelfa are."

Mica sighs, "Excellent, I am guessing fighters not magic users?"

Orelfa replies, "Correct, we… what did Kazu call it… "Hulk Smash" things."

Kazu replies, "That was only when you began training, you two have more grace and control now, so less hulkie smashie and more dismantle with grace and flair." He ends the statement with a smile and a graceful swish of the wrist.

Mica shakes his head then takes Orolfie to the back to test her, half an hour later she comes back laughing, and sends Orelfa to the back for her test.

Kazu asks, "So how did it go?"

She smiles at him, "He got mad at me for destroying the dummy."

"Oh… How did that happen?" Kazu inquires.

Orolfie answers, "Well I used the body strengthening magic you taught us and punched it in its chest. The wood splintered, and the metal in the middle bent, it flew across the room and crashed into the wall. Speaking of the wall, can you fix the big crack I put in it after we are done testing?"

Kazu quietly laughs, "Yeah I can do that, I really should offer to make them some new dummies, I feel kind of bad that we keep destroying them."

"What really upset him was when his friends tried to attack me, I used the strengthening magic to make my skin harder and caught their swords and then took them away. He told me to give them back then spent the next few minutes slapping their swings away until they were too tired to swing their swords anymore." Orolfie said with a smile.

"Mica is going to hate all of us. We are going to be the first team in history to all get Rank-S endorsements." Kazu says laughing.

Orolfie smiles at Kazu and says, "That's because we all have the best teacher, and when you finally allow me to, I'll give you a well deserved reward." She finishes her statement with a wink and she ungracefully licks her lips. 

Her attempt at sensuality reminded Kazu of a drunk trying to lick sauce off their own nose. Kazu smiles back at her, but not for the reason she hoped. 

A while later Orelfa comes back out and Mica hands the paperwork to Tara. Kazu reaches out and pulls the sisters into a hug. He kisses each of them on the cheek, as he is about to say something Tara interrupts. "Ladies, care to join me over at the crystal to get your cards made?" Tara asks.

The orc sisters follow Tara to the crystal, and a few minutes later they are showing their cards to Kazu. He takes a look at Orelfa's card first.

Orelfa's card reads:

Kazu hugs the girls again then says, "I'm proud of you two, Orolfie is now the youngest B rank member ever, and I believe the youngest to join. Also we now officially know which of you two is oldest."

Tara adds, "That is correct… I never thought I'd see a card list the age of 6 years old on it… but today I have two. You really like to shake things up, don't you Kazu."

Kazu smiles at Tara and says, "You know you like my surprises… especially when you barge…"

Tara interrupts Kazu by loudly telling the girls the lodge rules and ranking information. She keeps looking at Kazu and does not stop talking until she is sure he is not going to try to embarrass her at work.

When all information is relayed, realizing that she had not been back to the house since she was there for teaching, Kazu invites Tara back to the house. He plans to show her the completed workshop, the observatory, and what they did to the house. If interested, maybe even to family movie night. They both agree that she will stop by tomorrow night after she and her team completes a lodge quest. They talk briefly about the quest, and an approximate time she expects to be done.

They all say their goodbyes then head out of the lodge. As they leave the lodge Kazu notices that it is only around midday, so he asks the girls what they want to do.

Without discussion they both say "We need a hunters outfit and another outfit or two for everyday use." Kazu agrees and they head off to shop. Starting at the clothing shop the girls get a heavier winter dress that looks like something Anna would wear. They also decide on some slacks and some shirts that fit rather snugly. After a brief heated discussion Orelfa finally convinced her sister to purchase some new underclothes. Orolfie in her defiant way picks the pairs that were barely there, six were made from a mesh material, and six were best described as a triangle with string attached. After another brief debate, failing to get Kazu drawn into the debate, Orelfa relents and agrees that Orolfie's choices would be fine. Orelfa picked a bit more modest underclothes, including some items Orolfie calls "mellon mashers". They bring their purchases up to the shop owner and Kazu pays. They then head off to the Weapons shop.

Unlike at the clothing shop, the sisters took their time looking at weapons and armor. Kazu also looked around to see if they had anything new or interesting. Several hours later the girls have finally picked out the items they want. Both girls chose leather pants and leather vests, neither one would be considered conservative. The pants hang low on the hips, and the vests show their stomach and only have one big button keeping them closed. Orolfie gets a basic leather gauntlet for her left hand, and Orelfa picks out a gauntlet with a small shield built into it. Orolfie picks a sword just like the one Kazu loaned her, and Orelfa goes with knives like the ones Kazu trains her with. Once they are finished with their shopping spree, Kazu pays the bill and they head for home.

By the time they arrive at the house the sun is setting. After dinner is served they take their baths then meet in the living room for more movies. Having watched the American made fairytale animated movies several times, Kazu decides to introduce them to the Idea of Isekai stories before he tells them about his past, and how he got here. The movies are stored on his hard drives, but most of the anime collection is on disks in the bookshelf. A few minutes of searching he finds a simple one to start them with, it's a story of a boy adopted by a wise old man after his parents died from a demon bear attack. The boy ends up being overpowered, falling in love with a blue haired girl, teaching his classmates how to be overpowered too, then all of them fight against demon people. 

They watch 6 episodes, with a discussion sparking up after each episode. Most of the discussion was about how magic does not work like that, which then evolves into how to do the spells correctly. During the second episode they were laughing so hard Kazu had to pause the episode. The "self-deluded magic recital" reminded each other about how bad they were before Kazu started training them, and they spent a little time poking fun at each other. After they calmed down he resumed the episode. 

After the third episode Anna asked, "Is this where you got the idea to enchant clothing and weapons and other things?"

Kazu replies, "No, there were many other books and movies and animations that used enchanting before this show came out. If you remember the story about the girl that eats the apple then falls asleep, she fell asleep because the apple was enchanted. That movie was made about 80 years before this show came out. Though where I come from, written references to magic and enchanting go back about 4,000 years."

Arwain, looking shocked, states, "Wow, our history only goes back 543 years. Before that there was nothing written, almost like we learned how to read, write and build on the same day. My great grandmother, one of our oldest elves in the village, does not remember anything specific before someone she calls a holy being walked her home 543 years ago. He taught her and the other elders about using nature to their benefit without damaging it. The elders would talk about him as a great and wise man."

Anna says, "Sounds similar to what I have read in the mayor's history books. Isn't he supposed to return before 600 years have passed?"

Everyone agrees except the Orc sisters, they have no stories passed down to draw from. After the conversation calmed down they continued the episodes. A 2 hour anime binge ended up taking over 3 hours with all the conversations it sparked. 

Kazu thinks to himself, "It's a good thing I kept it simple, I should probably keep it this way for a while before I introduce the deeper series. Maybe introduce them to a romance series after."

After the episodes are done and the conversations have ended, everyone heads to bed. Tonight Arwain sleeps in Lina's room, everyone else sleeps in their regular beds.
