Water Mage in the Flame Realm

Chapter 159: Water and Fire United Once More

Compared to the "Life Flame Spirit," the healing effect of the "Flowing Water Spirit" is clearly better.

The advantage of Water Magic in healing is fully evident at this moment.

However, when the "Life Flame Spirit" and the "Flowing Water Spirit" naturally fused together, Andrew suddenly felt that the effect of his "Flowing Water Spirit" in replenishing physical ability was just so-so. Although it's stronger than the "Life Flame Spirit," compared to the product of their fusion—a brand-new and unknown magic of Water and Fire United—it was inferior by more than just one level!

The fusion of water and fire produced an effect far greater than the sum of its parts.

The injured person had been tormented to the brink of death, their complexion extremely ashen, looking no different from a dead person.

At this moment, their entire body visibly trembled, and their complexion, at a speed visible to the naked eye, regained a hint of life!

But this was not the end.

Andrew stared fixedly at the injured person and saw: not only was the effect of the "Life Flame Spirit" continuing to manifest on them, but there was also a Tier Seven spell cast personally by Linda, called "Misty Fire Breath."

That injured person managed to hold on, largely because of Linda's "Misty Fire Breath," which was continuously battling the "Sulfur Fire Insect."

Two High Tier magics were in a tug-of-war; overall, "Misty Fire Breath" was falling behind, and its speed in killing the "Sulfur Fire Insect" was far inferior to the insect's regeneration speed.

"But now, now this is—" Andrew sensed very clearly that after his "Flowing Water Spirit" merged with the "Life Flame Spirit," it not only quickly replenished the injured person's physical ability but also seemed to exert a kind of "strong excitation" effect on the "Misty Fire Breath"!

Hiss, hiss, hiss hiss!

The "Misty Fire Breath" presented a steam mist state akin to bright red, although it was Flame Magic, it possessed a form similar to water vapor.

The fiery breath enveloped the injured person's wounds, simultaneously trapping those disgusting and terrifying "Sulfur Fire Insects" inside, burning them fiercely!

The Sulfur Fire Insects seemed to feel the suddenly intensified power of the fiery breath, trembling involuntarily and letting out a series of chilling, agonizing screams.

The sound was so sharp and piercing that Andrew, unprepared and caught in the sound waves at close range, felt a wave of dizziness!

Fortunately, the eerie screams lasted only about half a minute before quickly weakening and becoming completely silent.

When Andrew looked at the injured person again, he saw that the person, even in a coma, tightly furrowed their brows, which slowly relaxed, as if relieved from an unbearably heavy burden. Despite not being awake, they seemed to sense it and revealed a slight smile of relief, and then... they fell into a deep sleep.

The wound of the injured person, which was previously giving rise to "Sulfur Fire Insects" endlessly, was now completely devoid of them.

They were wiped out completely!

The "Sulfur Fire Insects" being exterminated naturally led to the dissipation of the "Misty Fire Breath" used against them.

The "Life Flame Spirit" and Andrew's "Flowing Water Spirit" also separated, reverting from a united magic back into two distinct magics.

If not for the completely different state of the injured person, Andrew might even have wondered if everything that just happened was merely an illusion of his own.

Deeply happy and pleasantly surprised in his heart; after all, he successfully saved a precious life.

At the same time, however, waves surged within him, unable to regain inner tranquility.

How could his Water Magic fuse with Warm Fire Magic?

This completely exceeded Andrew's already limited magical knowledge!

What Andrew did not know was that he had already experienced an instance of "Water and Fire United" with Barbara before.

That time, the fusion of water and fire directly helped Barbara in her Soul Magic duel with Rose, taking one of Rose's lives.

After the event, the "Warm Fire Order" that Barbara carried with her silently melted and merged into her forehead. As for Andrew, although he vaguely felt that something seemed to have changed, he couldn't pinpoint exactly what. He didn't pay too much attention to it.

Until just now, Andrew witnessed and personally felt the strange phenomenon of Water and Fire United.

This was no simple "fusion."

But a very deep sense of "interaction"!

But why?

Why was there such a phenomenon?!

Andrew thought to himself that he hadn't failed to notice a vague connection between his Water Magic and Barbara's Warm Fire Magic before. Otherwise, he wouldn't have regarded the Warm Fire Commerce Association as a potential reliable ally.

But such a relationship of mutual promotion between the two elemental healing magics that seemed almost like "Dual Swords Unite" was something he hadn't anticipated at all.

Andrew was now very sure that it wasn't a mere illusion.

What he couldn't determine was whether there was a certain deep connection between his "Water Priestess Series" and this "Fire God Blessing Series" that he did not fully understand, or whether all his Water Magic had a similar connection with Warm Fire Magic.

Thinking a step further—

What was the relationship between the disappeared Water Mages in this Flame Realm and the Warm Fire Commerce Association? Could the current adversarial relationship between the Warm Fire Commerce Association and the Magic Guild be traced back to the disappearance of the Water Mages back then?

For a moment, Andrew's mind was overwhelmed with various doubts.

"Uh..." His vision suddenly darkened.

Andrew snapped back to reality from his thoughts.

Only to discover that his previously abundant Magic Power had been drained to the last drop in that brief phenomenon of water and fire fusion!

"So, it really wasn't my illusion."

Andrew carefully sensed the discomfort of magic power emptiness within himself.

But his heart was gradually shifting from shock to an underlying excitement and thrill.

Because if there truly was a deeper connection between Water Magic and Warm Fire Magic than he realized...

If the Water Mages who vanished from this world were actually some kind of comrades or partners of the Warm Fire Commerce Association—

Then the significance of this journey to Warm Fire would fundamentally change!

Upon reaching Warm Fire City tomorrow, the possibilities he seeks may not be limited to business cooperation at all!!

"Calm down, calm down!" Andrew thought of this and quickly cautioned himself, "I should not act rashly or make assumptions! It's best to thoroughly understand the relationship and history between Water Mages and the Warm Fire Commerce Association. Until then, I must remain cautious!!"

Taking a deep breath, Andrew silently added a new item to his goal list for this Warm Fire journey: if possible, find a way to investigate the relationship between the Warm Fire Commerce Association and the Water Mages.

He looked up at Linda: "Um... I'd like to ask something..." Weighing his words carefully, Andrew was already thinking about how to subtly probe for information.

But he didn't get to utter his words.

He had only said half of it when he closed his mouth again.

He saw Linda staring fixedly at the wound of the injured person, now devoid of any trace of the "Sulfur Fire Insect." She looked at it for quite a while, then checked the injured person's complexion, and afterwards, raised her hands to cast a light red magical shield around the injured person, as if closing her eyes to feel something carefully.

Swish!

Linda reopened her eyes, seemingly having confirmed something, with some difficulty turned her head towards Andrew.

The goal... as if seeing ghosts!
