Water Mage in the Flame Realm

Chapter 158: Let Me Give It a Try!

Ivan, who had been silently following along, didn't look too pleased either.

Upon seeing the condition of the injured in the Warm Fire Temple, Ivan felt that his own torment from "lung burns" seemed trivial.

The injured person was in so much pain that they fainted.

"Soul Furnace Fire, quick! Use it!" Linda had fully applied Andrew's theories on supplemental energy and heart healing power into practice.

She then took a deep breath, turned to Andrew, and asked, "Mr. Andrew, do you have any good ideas?" pointing at the injured person who had already passed out and who, without the "Soul Furnace Fire" to support their heart power, might have little will to survive.

By now, Linda didn't need to ask Andrew whether he specialized in the "Fire God Blessing Series", or what tier he had reached... questions like that.

Because she knew very well: he wasn't!

This young man before her definitely wasn't practicing the "Fire God Blessing Series"!

The evidence was clear, since arriving at the Warm Fire Temple, Linda had brought Andrew along to treat various injured people with fire burns, and Andrew asked a great number of questions about fire burns, about healing fire injuries, and about the "Fire God Blessing Series"!

These were not the questions that someone specializing in the "Fire God Blessing Series" would ask.

"So, the reason for giving such advice was merely because he observed the phenomenon of weak physical abilities among professionals and others, and happened to know these two relatively fundamental healing magic spells 'Life Fire Spirit' and 'Soul Furnace Fire'?" Linda pondered.

Honestly, she was a bit disappointed.

She initially invited Andrew to the Warm Fire Temple, genuinely thinking he was some hidden young genius who could provide greater help to the temple's efforts.

—Of course, the help he provided now was no small matter either.

Linda just thought that Andrew could accomplish more.

When she pointed at the fainted injured person and asked Andrew if he had any good ideas, she really was out of options, not truly believing Andrew had a solution.

But she saw Andrew ponder briefly and then say, "Let me give it a try."

"Oh?" Linda was surprised.

She was about to say, "Even if you don't have a solution, it's alright. Mr. Andrew, your suggestions on supplementing physical abilities and heart power have already greatly aided our work!"

She didn't expect Andrew to actually say he could give it a try!

Andrew smiled and said, "I know my own abilities well. In terms of healing, Captain Linda is definitely my teacher."

"So, what do you mean?"

"Oh, my idea is simple: I can't cure this person, it's beyond my ability, I sincerely apologize."

Andrew paused before adding solemnly, "However, regarding supplementing physical abilities, my technique is slightly unique, perhaps it can have some different effects on this injured person. I hope to help him hold on a bit longer, see if he can overcome this difficult challenge."

That was Andrew's thought process.

Certainly, he wouldn't be able to cure it; maybe in the future, as his tier advances and he unlocks more high-tier healing magic within the "Water Priestess Series," then perhaps he could. For now, he's truly powerless.

But... using the "Flowing Water Spirit" he'd already mastered, along with his massive water magic power, far exceeding that of a standard Tier Three mage, to supplement the injured person's physical ability, Andrew had confidence.

"This injured person pleaded for amputation; he's indeed in great pain. But holding on until now is actually quite remarkable; he's at a critical juncture!"

Andrew understood, "If he could hold on a bit longer, he could get through it. This 'Sulfur Fire Insect's' gnawing effect isn't endless. The key is whether he can persevere! On this point, I think I can help him!"

"Captain Linda, isn't this a bit hasty?" an adjacent medical teammate hesitantly asked.

Though unsaid, it was clear there were doubts about Andrew's so-called "slightly unique technique for supplementing physical abilities."

In this world, magic spells that supplement physical abilities can only be found within warm fire magic. They don't exist in earth fire magic.

And in warm fire magic, the healing magic series only contains the "Fire God Blessing Series!"

Since everyone is a practitioner of the "Fire God Blessing Series," what techniques could you possess that I don't?

Or rather, what techniques could you possess that Captain Linda doesn't?!

"Alright, it's fine, I trust Mr. Andrew." Linda, after her initial slight surprise, quickly regained her decisive style and said, "Anyway, continuing with our current method, it's highly likely that we won't be able to save this injured person.

Let's let Mr. Andrew try his method!"

Saying this, she gave Andrew a deep look, with scrutiny and curiosity, thinking, "Slightly unique technique to supplement physical abilities? Since it's different from the techniques our medical team holds, could it be—?"

Andrew, without wasting words, acted immediately upon receiving Linda's approval.

Linda and the few medical team members around couldn't help but widen their eyes at that moment.

Not because they thought Andrew's actions were remarkable or spectacular.

Quite the opposite—

Due to the existence of "Invisible Enchantment," others couldn't see the manifestation of Andrew's water magic.

All they saw was Andrew muttering words while gesturing in the air above the injured person's head, face, neck, torso, and limbs.

Luckily, in the Flame Realm, there were no charlatan tricksters.

Otherwise, Andrew's actions at this moment would surely earn him a big label of "trying to mystify," harshly imposed!

In the Warm Fire Temple, there were many injured persons.

The medical team members worked tirelessly day and night.

The atmosphere was very tense, even strained!

Yet, upon suddenly seeing Andrew drawing circles and lines, a young team member couldn't hold back and let out a laugh, wondering what this man was doing? But she only laughed for half a beat, then hurriedly covered her mouth, though her still-trembling shoulders betrayed her true thoughts.

Andrew didn't care about how others viewed him, thinking, "I've even done things like awkward dancing in front of everyone in the desert, what's there to be afraid of? What's that famous saying again?—As long as I don't feel awkward, it's other people who will!"

From Andrew's perspective, vast swaths of "Flowing Water Spirit," spurred by the "Multiplicative Magic Power," flowed from the fingertips and landed on the injured person.

The Water Priestess Series undoubtedly fell within the realm of traditional water magic.

Andrew wasn't in a rush to improve it to make it suitable for himself as a Water Magic Lord.

He simply studied the crystalized wisdom left by those who came before.

If improvement were necessary, it would happen naturally, rather than being forced.

In Andrew's view, "Flowing Water Spirit" was indeed a very splendid, beautiful, gentle yet dynamic water magic.

The effects of this water magic were also excellent.

Essentially, it allowed Andrew to share part of the traits of his own "Water Soul Constitution" with others. And one major characteristic, or rather advantage, of the Water Soul Constitution, which had left a deep impression on traveling companions like Leia and Havier en route to the "Shield of Flowing Fire," was—

Good endurance!

Overall, everything went smoothly.

Until, at some point, certain entirely unexpected changes occurred suddenly, without warning.

Andrew, being directly involved, felt it the fastest and in the most straightforward way.

At first, he thought it was his own illusion.

But soon enough, he saw: the injured person already had a "Life Fire Spirit" previously cast by Linda, and at that moment, the "Flowing Water Spirit" Andrew cast on the injured person naturally merged together...

Andrew stood there, dumbfounded: "…Huh?"
