Chapter 165: A Summoner for a Hairless Cat?
A God of Destruction communicator! The item left Axis utterly astonished.
To think King Vegeta had something like this in his private collection was beyond belief.
Axis had every reason to be shocked. What exactly was a God of Destruction?
In the world of Dragon Ball, they represented the absolute ceiling of combat power.
Even the so-called strongest warrior in the universe could not hope to defeat one. In the Granolah the Survivor arc, even after obtaining the power to become the universe's strongest warrior, Granolah was still a mere mortal, unable to even hold a candle to a God of Destruction.
Although Beerus, the God of Destruction, claimed to have used seventy percent of his power when he first fought Super Saiyan God Goku, it was later proven that Super Saiyan Blue, Super Saiyan Blue with a twenty-fold Kaioken, Vegeta's Ultra Ego, and Goku's Ultra Instinct were all incomparable to him.
Even Frieza, in his Black Frieza form, possessed overwhelming strength that crushed the so-called strongest warrior in the universe, but he too remained a mortal.
The Dragon Ball Super manga and anime were completely different.
In the manga, the Gods of Destruction were portrayed with immense dignity and power, surpassed only by their Angel attendants. Above the Angels was the Grand Priest, and ruling over all twelve universes was Zeno, a being who truly possessed the power to erase entire universes from existence.
"Father," the mainframe of the Solus Prime flickered as it spoke, "I have detected a very unique energy signature within that strange glass sphere. It is entirely different from Warp energy, and even distinct from your Ki energy."
"It's nothing, just some unusual energy," Axis said nonchalantly.
He placed the God of Destruction communicator back into its box, sealed it, and put it into his pocket.
He dared not risk using the device. Could it actually contact a God of Destruction? And even if it could, what then? Should he use it as a summoner to call a certain hairless cat to this universe?
Given the God of Destruction's temperament, would he come to save this dark universe? No, he would come to destroy it.
Were the gods of the Dragon Ball universe truly any better than the Four Chaos Gods of this one? Beerus destroyed planets based entirely on his whims.
If he was in a bad mood, he destroyed a planet. If the food was unappetizing, he destroyed a planet. If his sleep was disturbed, he destroyed a planet. If he simply did not like the look of you, he would destroy your planet.
When Beerus first appeared, both the Kais and the Supreme Kais were filled with terror, because every time a God of Destruction awakened, countless worlds were destined for annihilation.
Furthermore, this was a different universe entirely.
What if word of this reached an Angel, or even the Grand Priest or Zeno? What if that child-like being with terrifying power decided to come to this universe for fun?
And what if that little being, who held the ultimate power of erasure, declared, "This universe is so dark, it would be better if it just disappeared," and then with a simple grasp of his hand, ended the Warhammer galaxy for good?
That was not a result Axis wanted.
Therefore, the best way to handle this God of a Destruction communicator was to never, ever use it.
As for the argument that even Zeno or a God of Destruction would be too far away to interfere with another world, Axis could only scoff.
After all, he himself had crossed over from the Dragon Ball universe. If he and this communicator served as a beacon, an Angel could very well be able to traverse the distance. Perhaps an Angel's power was not even necessary; a Supreme Kai might be able to cross over using their time and space manipulation abilities.
Truthfully, if a Supreme Kai were to arrive, Axis would have welcomed them with open arms. But alas, this device contacted a God of Destruction.
In some ways, Beerus was even more terrifying than the Four Chaos Gods of Chaos. He possessed a physical form and wielded his power in the material universe.
He could effortlessly overwhelm the Emperor, even an Emperor who had fully succumbed to becoming the Dark King.
The Dark King's ability to destroy the universe was theoretical, but a God of Destruction could do it for real.
However, the God of Destruction energy contained within the communicator was immensely useful.
This was a true treasure. No wonder he had felt a sense of threat from it. This energy could, in theory, destroy all matter in the universe, even Ki blasts.
There were two ways to acquire the power of a God of Destruction. The first was to train under a corresponding Angel. After a period of intense training, one could master this energy of destruction. The second was to possess superhuman, heaven-defying talent and potential, allowing one to grasp the energy after merely coming into contact with it.
However, it seemed no such individual had ever been born in the Dragon Ball universe.
That did not mean it was impossible.
Frieza himself had once subdued a small, relatively weak sphere of destructive energy. The fact that Frieza could train himself to his Black form within the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, far surpassing Goku and Vegeta, suggested that his contact with that energy played a significant role.
This sample of God of Destruction energy was incredibly important to Axis.
In the future, when his own power reached a plateau and no further improvement seemed possible, and his plans with faith didn't come into fruition, this sphere of energy would become the key to shattering the barrier between mortals and gods.
To be safe, Axis decided not to use it until he could at least transform into a Super Saiyan Blue or break beyond the limits of Super Saiyan 4.
On another note, if an Angel or a Supreme Kai could use this communicator as a beacon to cross over, then theoretically, could he, a native of the Dragon Ball world, use it to return?
Perhaps it would be possible once he mastered divine power, but for now, it was out of the question.
The only thing from the Dragon Ball universe that Axis currently coveted were the seven Dragon Balls themselves. He wondered if they would even work in another universe.
The Necron Cryptek standing nearby glanced with curiosity at the object Axis had put away.
He sensed that the strange energy was exceptionally powerful, a form of energy of the highest order. However, it was not his place to inquire. His new master was simply too formidable. By his estimation, Axis was already not far off from an average C'tan, a being capable of easily annihilating an entire star system.
"Solus Prime," Axis said, pointing at the large, circular alien flagship, "dismantle this vessel completely and analyze its systems. I want you to be able to replicate its faster-than-light drive and all of its scientific equipment."
He could not count on the powers of Terra to replicate the eyeball-shaped FTL drives of the Saiyan attack pods anytime soon.
He would have to handle it himself. Fortunately, this flagship from the Frieza Force was far superior to those pods.
"A faster-than-light drive? Lord Axis," the Necron Chronomancer, Glandu, asked in astonishment, "you are saying this rather unremarkable-looking vessel possesses a faster-than-light drive?"
This ship, which appeared so plain and was constructed from what seemed to be ordinary metals, had an FTL drive? It was preposterous.
His own race had expended immense effort to master FTL travel. They even had to enlist the help of the C'tan known as the Void Dragon to break the laws of the universe just to achieve it.
This saucer-shaped ship looked only slightly larger than a common Thunderhawk Gunship. It was smaller than even the smallest human escort destroyer, not even a kilometer in length.
"Do not let its size fool you," Axis said, "The technology it contains is extremely advanced. It also has those special medical pods in their original state, not the crude facsimiles reverse-engineered by the Adeptus Mechanicus."
It was a flagship, after all.
Though small, it was fully equipped. It carried over a hundred sets of combat armor and standard energy blasters.
These original, pristine medical pods, blasters, and armor were far superior to anything those fools on Mars could ever replicate.
"I understand, Father," the Solus Prime replied. "I will begin the analysis of this vessel immediately. I will integrate its faster-than-light drive into my own systems, after which I will be able to produce new FTL engines."
Though the Solus Prime was equipped with a Warp drive, FTL travel was far safer than traversing the Immaterium.
As for the original medical pods, energy blasters, and combat armor, once analyzed, mass-producing them would not be an issue.
Axis nodded in satisfaction and handed the Frieza Force flagship over to the Solus Prime. Soon, the great ship began scanning the vessel, commencing the process of complete disassembly.
Next, Axis took out several special sniper rifles.
There were five in total, along with one hundred specialized rounds of ammunition.
He kept two of the rifles and forty rounds for himself, giving the remaining three rifles and sixty rounds to the Solus Prime for analysis. If these could be mass-produced, they would be truly devastating weapons.
"Replicate these three sniper rifles as well," Axis ordered.
"I understand, Father. Leave it to me."
After all, these were weapons that King Vegeta believed could harm Frieza.
Their power could not be underestimated. Axis wondered if they could even harm him in his current state. Strictly speaking, with his current strength, he could also effortlessly overwhelm Frieza.
He could now access his Legendary Super Saiyan form and stack Super Saiyan 3 on top of it.
He supposed he could test the rifle's power on himself, but he was not so reckless. What if something went wrong and he was laid low by his own hubris?
Perhaps in the future, he could find an Ork Warboss, a Tyranid Hive Tyrant, or a Greater Daemon of Chaos to test their might.
After dealing with the ship and the weapons, Axis turned his attention to the special red seed in his hand.
Was this thing truly a seed for a new type of Saibaman?
