Warhammer: Lord of the Endless Monster Horde

Chapter 353: Warhammer: Lord of the Endless Monster Horde [352]

"Someone opened a Warp rift with a special device. Massive energy detected above—likely a Warp god-level being," the AI analyzed.

"Understood. Wake my guard and all dynasty members. The Avarris Dynasty will fight!" the Phaeron ordered.

"Received. Initiating awakening protocol for all dynasty members."

The whole tomb started waking up. Countless Necrons rose from their long sleep and were sent to the battlefield.

All kinds of Necron units appeared, equipped with anti-Warp weapons.

With the Necron army awakened, the Nurgle daemon assault slowed. Rhodes watched the Necron dynasty's battle mode for the first time.

Though small, their tech level was high.

Endless green metal skeletons surged out, wielding Gauss weapons, fighting the daemons fiercely. The Necrons were relentless, unafraid of death or fatigue.

When bodies were destroyed, the tomb reactivated and rebuilt new metal shells for them.

Some Phaeron Guards joined the war—the Necrons' elite, comparable to Hive Tyrants, Ork Warlords, and even the Imperium's Custodes.

Low-level Nurgle daemons were no match for these guards, and were routed quickly.

Even with the Dark Portal summoning more, daemons were limited in hurting Necrons.

Their plagues didn't work; Necrons only suffered from flesh hunger, a kind of electronic virus that made them lust for living flesh.

But Rhodes had picked a dynasty not afflicted by that virus—the Phaeron retained most of his mind!

Their combat power was ferocious—within hours, the daemons were pushed back to the surface, and Necron units advanced on the portal. Some Necron flyers attacked the zombie beast.

Necron weapons were powerful—even stronger than Pedanium beams.

Gauss rays killed anything they hit, regardless of armor. Marines, Sisters, Astartes—no one was immune.

If you got hit, you died. The disintegration field was no joke.

Rhodes' zombie beast was huge, a perfect target. Countless green beams hit it, instantly dissolving its cells.

But the zombie beast, enhanced by Nurgle's power, was half-Warp, half-living, so it survived. If Red King had been here, he'd have been done for.

Even Zetton would be destroyed without a shield.

"Gauss weapons just manipulate energy—you can coat yourself in psychic energy for a shield to block them," Isha said.

Necron attacks were deadly, but not unstoppable. The Old Ones mastered psychic tech—psychic shields could counter Necron attacks.

Rhodes nodded and released several Zettons.

These Zettons were made by Balt and Zett; their power needed no explanation.

Rhodes even gave them psychic shields, and then sent them into battle.

"Zetton! Zetton!"

Their yellow eye crystals gleamed as they entered the fray.

These giant beasts pressured the Necrons—Titan-class units were trouble.

Necron Gauss rays couldn't harm Zettons with psychic shields, and their 100-megaton fireballs wreaked havoc.

Huge red fireballs shot from Zettons' faces.

Boom! Boom!

Explosions rocked the place.

Countless green metal skeletons were blasted into the air, and then vaporized by the flames.

Necrons could rebuild bodies with the resurrection protocol, but that required materials, which weren't infinite.

The Zettons advanced, firing ultimate rays and fireballs.

"Deploy the dynasty's super units," the Phaeron commanded.

Clearly, this attack was premeditated. These special bio-weapons were unknown—and with psychic shields, were they leftovers from the Old Ones?

"Phaeron's order: deploy giant war machines."

Necrons sent out Titan units to stop Zetton, but Zetton absorbed and reflected their rays, blowing up Necron Titans.

Huge Necron units were blasted apart, and tomb ships rose to attack.

Now, Nurgle daemons weren't the main problem—Zetton was.

In battle, Zetton proved its worth—defensive shields, teleportation, fireballs, and beams devastated the Necrons.

"These monsters even have teleportation!"

The Necrons were shocked. Only a powerful industrial civilization could build such weapons.

"Phaeron, this isn't phase teleportation—it's some unknown special movement," said the captain of the Phaeron Guard.

"My warriors, all units attack! These giants can't be stopped by ordinary troops, no matter how many."

"Phaeron, your guard's main duty is to protect you. Half in battle is the limit; the rest must stay with you," the captain said.

"If my dynasty is ruined, there's no point protecting me. All of you, attack and destroy our enemies!" the Phaeron ordered.

The Phaeron Guard, over 4 meters tall and armed with advanced weapons, joined the melee against Zetton.

But in close combat, the 60-meter Zetton was untouchable—every stomp crushed masses of metal skeletons.

"Zetton! Zetton!"

Even with the Guard, Zetton kept advancing, slaughtering Necrons.

It was a race: could they build more than he destroyed? Killing Necrons meant rewards, and Gen 2 Zettons were strong.

Rhodes didn't deploy the mechanical Ultra Warriors, only Zetton, which hadn't appeared in other battles—good for hiding his identity, since this fight would be reported by the Necrons.

As the Guard and Zetton brawled, Rhodes made his move.

Using Zetton's teleport, Rhodes suddenly appeared behind the Phaeron.

"Ox-Breaking Fist!"
