Chapter 46: Paradise Island
DC Universe
Paradise Island
There is a group of powerful women, the Amazons, living on Paradise Island. They are all beautiful, strong, and skilled with various weapons and in combat.
According to legend, Hippolyta, Queen of the Amazons, was barren, but she longed for a child. One night, she molded a pile of clay into the shape of a child and prayed to the gods. The next morning, Hippolyta was awakened by a baby who would become the future Wonder Woman, Diana.
However, there are other tales that claim Diana is the illegitimate daughter of the King of God, Zeus, and Hippolyta. If it were up to Norton, he would be inclined to believe this version even more.
Which statement is true or false, perhaps only Zeus himself, Hippolyta and a few others know.
In the morning, the sun was shining brightly. A few hundred meters above Paradise Island, a burst of blue light flashed, and a blue space-time vortex appeared. A figure fell from the vortex, moving in an irregular free-fall pattern. That figure was Norton. At the moment, he was in a state of dizziness. This journey through time and space made him feel an unprecedented pressure, even greater than the pressure of going to a parallel universe.
Currently, he had been transformed, the cobweb injector on his wrist had been damaged, and even the Spider battlesuit on his body had been torn by the turbulence of time and space, leaving only tattered plain clothes. "Plop!!" The dizzy Norton landed heavily on the blue sea. If he didn't have an extraordinary physique and a body of steel, he would have been smashed to pieces by the sea at that moment.
On the beach outside Paradise Island, a beautiful figure passed by. She had a nearly perfect appearance, her eyes like a sky full of stars, extremely beautiful. As expected of having the beauty bestowed by Aphrodite, the goddess of beauty, even the gods praised her. Her hair flowed in the air like a waterfall.
"What's that?" Diana was walking on the coast when she suddenly saw a figure falling without any control, straight into the sea. Without any hesitation, Diana jumped into the sea and swam towards Norton at an extremely fast speed.
When Diana reached Norton's side, she couldn't help but pause when she saw Norton's face. It was the first time she had seen such a handsome person, and there were no movements in his chest. He seemed to be a legendary man.
Immediately, Diana came to her senses, wrapped her arms around Norton, and swam back towards the shore. "Hoo hoo!" Once back at the surface of the sea, she brought Norton to the shore, laid him flat on the ground, and then carefully observed his face.
She involuntarily reached out her hand towards Norton's face, placing it on his handsome features, and began to examine him closely. "He's just like the rumored Apollo," she thought. In mythology, Apollo is considered the most handsome of all male gods. Using him to describe Norton shows the high regard she has for Norton's appearance.
"Ahem!" Norton coughed up a mouthful of seawater and slowly opened his eyes. First, he saw the dazzling sunlight, and then a beautiful figure appeared beneath it. "Damn it, she's really pretty," Norton subconsciously remarked. This was the truth; it was the first time he had seen such a good-looking woman.
Diana frowned slightly. She could partially understand what the man before her said. Had the language outside evolved again? She looked at Norton curiously and asked in a voice as melodious as the sounds of nature, "Are you a man?"
Hearing the familiar Chinese, Norton couldn't help but raise his eyebrows. But what did she mean? Had she never seen a man? But... the familiar plot and lines. "Yes, I am indeed a man, but where is this place? Who are you?" Norton asked, though he had a little guess in his heart.
Diana thought of her mother's words, warning her that men are not good people and to be careful at all times. She looked at Norton, struggling internally. "This is Paradise Island." Diana decided not to reveal her name, stating the place name was already her biggest concession.
However, Norton already knew her name. With such a striking appearance and being on Paradise Island, home to the Amazons, it was hard not to guess her identity. If it were any other Amazons, Norton would have been considered an intruder and pursued by them. It seemed that Diana was the only one patient enough with him.
"Okay, I..." Norton was about to speak when his Spider Telepathy sensed a group of hostile individuals approaching them from hundreds of meters away. It was easy to guess that they were Amazons, and it seemed they had already noticed Norton's presence.
"This beautiful lady, look at me." Norton took the initiative to look at Diana, making Diana, who had never met a man, feel slightly embarrassed. "Do you believe me?"
Diana was drawn by Norton's deep eyes and naively sensed that the person in front of her was not bad. "I trust you." Norton was sure that was the most heartwarming thing he had heard in the past few days.
"Listen, I have no ill intentions towards Paradise Island. I need a hiding place to figure out how to get out of here. Can you help me keep my presence a secret?" This was true; Norton just wanted to study the Space gem and plan his escape. The DC universe was notoriously dark and dangerous.
"I..." Diana looked at Norton, who was waiting for her promise. Her heart inexplicably beat faster, and she almost instinctively said, "I promise."
