Chapter 45: After The Battle, Norton Disappeared

Universe 65. This universe is home to the female Spider-Man, Gwen Stacy, and its buildings are essentially identical to those in Norton's main universe. Gwen stood atop Tony Stark's industrial building, overlooking the New York she knew. 

"My New York, I'm finally back." Leaning forward, Gwen began a swift dive downward. She couldn't wait to return to her husband's arms and share her experiences with him.

At Ming Wen Industry, Norton's office and research studio were on the top floor. 

"Oh? My wife is back. It seems this was a good time travel," Norton remarked with great interest, watching the big screen displaying Gwen's whereabouts. Just a few hours ago, his wife had vanished inexplicably from this world. When he sensed it, he detected an unusual kind of energy with the specialized instrument in his hand; it seemed related to time and space energy. He wasn't worried, though, as the life instrument continuously assured him that Gwen was safe. He had also installed various safeguards on Gwen's Spider battlesuit, enough to help her escape a crisis or even turn defeat into victory.

"Okay, it's time to pick up my wife," Norton said, taking off his white coat and leisurely walking toward the rooftop just as Gwen landed there with a cobweb. 

"Honey!" Gwen exclaimed, running toward Norton and wrapping him in a bear hug. Her excited, flushed face rubbed affectionately against his. 

"Tell me, what kind of journey did you have?" Gwen pulled Norton to sit on the sofa, recounting everything she had encountered in the parallel universe: the hefty Peter, the newly graduated version of him, and what piqued his most interest, his daughter.

"Our daughter!" Norton exclaimed, surprise evident in his eyes. 

"Yeah! She's so cute!" Gwen responded enthusiastically, suddenly sitting on Norton's lap with love in her eyes. "I want a child."

Norton caressed her face, leaning in until their lips met. "Happy to oblige," he whispered.

After Rosa returned to his universe, the first thing he did was visit his parents to assure them of his safety. In this universe, their home was on an artificial island, which was entirely their private property. 

"Welcome back, miss," Rosa said as he took out a universal capsule, which revealed a small pink spaceship. 

Rosa drove the small spaceship home, smiling happily when he saw his parents waiting outside. 

"Father! Mom!" he exclaimed, running directly to Norton and Gwen after disembarking. Gwen bent down to hug Rosa.

"Xiao Wen, was the trip to the parallel universe fun?" Gwen asked, kissing Rosa's cheek.

"It was fun, really fun. I met my parents from another universe and made very good friends. It was so much fun!" 

The reason Gwen knew that Rosa went to the parallel universe was because Norton's technology detected it. Norton was even able to pinpoint Rosa's location in the universe at that time and relied on the hyperspace spacecraft to go there. However, Norton knew that Rosa would not be in danger. Other universes have their own existence, and their strength is not weak. He also believed that Rosa could survive this crisis safely by relying on his own strength. Rosa's battle suit had features that could handle everything, and this is where Norton felt relieved.

"You should really tell us what interesting things Xiaowen encountered there," Norton and Gwen said as they each took Rosa's little hands and walked into the house step by step.

In the main universe, Norton was still in the turbulence of time and space. "Warning! The Space Gem absorbs too much space-time energy and is about to go berserk! Warning!" The voice of the system sounded in Norton's mind. Norton wondered if it was the fault of the system. He had never encountered any problems with the things given by the system, not to mention the words "special edition" added after the Space Gem. Wait, special? Let's put these questions aside first and send Harry back.

In the originally messy Osborn building, a space-time vortex appeared in the sky, and it was Norton and Harry who fell unconscious. "Phew, I'm back at last!" Placing Harry on the ground, Norton sat down. "Congratulations to the host for completing the stop gold and planning tasks, reward: the host's physical data is doubled." "Black Spider!" Chris' voice came in surprise.

Just a few minutes ago, Chris had just entered the Osborn building, and after seeing the mess on the scene, he reported to his superiors. After that, Norton appeared directly in front of him, bringing Norman Osborn's only son, Harry, with him. Norton glanced left and right, and saw that the surrounding area was still a mess. It seems that the time flow speed of each parallel universe is still somewhat different.

"This police officer, I'll leave it to you. I have some things to deal with later. If you encounter Ghost Spiders, tell them I'll be back soon." The system warning sounds in Norton's mind were getting more frequent; it seems that the Space Gem is about to go berserk. "Here, Black Spider...!" In the next second, a blue light burst out from Norton's body; the light directly enveloped Norton and disappeared in the blink of an eye.

After the dazzling light disappeared, Chris opened his eyes, and he found that Norton's figure had already vanished.
