Waifu Catalog: Multiverse Tinker

Chapter 1: Chapter 1

I look at the galaxy in front of me in awe and shock. The last thing I remember is getting stabbed by a robber and bleeding to death on a winter night. The next thing I do after closing my eyes is appear in this galaxy.

I watch two beings spiral past stars and worlds through the void. They dance through realities, shifting through other times and other dimensions. Countless facets that fuse, part, and shift as they journey.

I watch as two more beings appear from the opposite side of the galaxy. The four beings collide with each other and explode into millions of pieces, creating an explosion that can only be described as Super Nova.

I watch as two stars from the beings fly toward me and slam into my soul. I can only stare at the phenomenon and watch the galaxy engulfed with white light. I let the white light wash over me, and when it disappears, I am standing in front of a white room with a desk in the middle of the room.

I can see a beautiful woman sitting behind the desk. I walk toward her and say.

"Who are you? Where are we? Also, do you see the explosion that just happened?"

"Explosion? Ah, you witness the destruction of the Parasite Entities, huh? That was a great honor."

"And also the destruction of the entire galaxy."

"Yes. Witnessing destruction in its purest form is something that any living and non-living beings are honored to witness."

"Right. Can you answer my first two questions?"

"Please take a seat, and I shall tell you."

She waves her hand, and a comfortable-looking chair appears next to me. I take a seat and look at her.

"We are a company called Slutlife."

"Really?"

"We are originally a porn company made by a succubus. It grew from there, and we are now a company that sells clones of people that our agents capture using special stamps. We also sell powers, character templates, and even a race seed."

I blink for a second because it sounds familiar.

"Waifu Catalog?"

I know about this because I read a lot of stories about Waifu Catalog.

"Yes. That is one of the few recruitment techniques we use to get new agents. The other one is this. We invite someone who gains a powerful power because of their luck or error from the Gods of your world."

"Which one am I?"

"Combination of both. Your world's God of Death messes up and sends your soul into space, and you are lucky enough to witness multiple parasite entities collide while they are traveling through the void. Your soul will get transported somewhere but our company takes you here to request something."

"Reques? Not an offer? Something that I cannot refuse?"

"Yes. We cannot force you. Getting you here already puts a strain on the power we use, and keeping you here requires a dozen power supplies, costing us many points. You can think of running away if you want, and we cannot stop you. So, yes. We have a request for you."

I look at her for a second and say.

"Continue."

"Thank you. As I said earlier, we are a company with many agents and encompassing countless worlds. However, because of our number, we cannot control all of them. Agents are causing a mess and destroying the planet, creating losses for us. We need someone who can fix that."

"And that someone is me, huh?"

"That's right. We need your help in fixing all the mess the agents do to the timeline and the world."

"Timeline?"

"Some of the timelines get so bad the higher-ranking person in our company needs to reset the entire universe. However, that can create a bad side effect. Among them is the deviation of the timeline path. It will change the good-ending or at least neutral-ending timeline into the bad-timeline. Think of them as the Dark Multiverse."

"Where the world will be destroyed no matter what you try."

"That's right. Lucky for us, the altered universe will never be a Dark Multiverse, but it will enter the Grey zone. That means the main character can win or lose. If they win, the world continues, but if they lose, it is destroyed. We cannot allow that. We cannot allow a single world to get destroyed unless that world is deemed too unprofitable for us."

"What kind of scenario does it take for it to happen?"

"Do you know Ork from the 40k universe? Or are they Chaos Gods?"

"Yeah."

"That. Ork will keep multiplying even if a single of them dies on a planet. They will start small and easily be solved, but if we do not take care of them immediately, we will have an infestation on the galaxy scale. As for the Chaos Gods… Well, they require a purge instead of quarantine like the Ork. Either someone powerful enough to stamp them and purify them by calling one of our patrons, or we give them to one of the Great Old Ones, another patron of our company. Let's not say what they will do to the four Chaos Gods for our sanity."

"Right. So? What do you need me to do?"

"Here. If you decide to join us, this is the world you need to fix."

I read the title of the paper and said,

"Suikoden? The old RPG? By the look of it, this is Suikoden V timeline, no?"

"That's right. Instead of Freyjadour winning the war, Godwin won eighty percent out of time, and we don't want that. This world is a resource world for their Rune Crystal. We sell the rune to another being who wants to bind the agent to their will by giving them power. Usually, we need you to choose your intensity where to decide how many points you get from capturing the target. However, we are willing to give you one free intensity bonus for joining us and leave the starting points intact, which is one hundred and forty. It is not the biggest, but it is not bad for the danger of the world you will be in. Not only that, we will also set your intensity to eight. That means you will get the premium price for all the people you capture. You can be a patron instead of a free agent when you reach a certain level. With this, you can recruit an agent for yourself that will obey your command. Some of their points will also go to you from all the captures or sales they perform."

I think for a few seconds because, at the end of the day, I already have the power that they want, and I can get powerful even without their help. However, it is great to have some kind of backing that lets me grow powerful faster.

"Before I agree, what kind of power do I already have?"

"Ah, you know the Worm CYOA version one?"

"I am familiar with that, yes."

"You get Inspired Inventor and Kaleidoscopes."

I look at her in shock because I just got something that is very broken. There is a reason why the power from Worm CYOA V1 is called World Breaker. Inspired Inventor let me become someone who can create any technology in the universe, and Kaleidoscope is the upgraded version of the Kaleidoscope from the Type-Moon universe.

Now I understand the reason why they want me.

"Very well. I will join your company as a Free Agent."

"Perfect! Here is your company catalog. Please fill them out, and when you are done, we will send you to your starting world immediately."

I nod and look at the catalog. I look at the intensity and read them one by one. After thinking for a few seconds, I decide to take the [100% / 0%] perk that lets me get the full price of the target I capture and get nothing from selling the people I capture.

With that done, I go to the origins section. I click the substitution and check the price for the character I want to take over. I think for a second about which character I pick. I need to get close to the main character and to do that, I need to win the tournament that will happen.

It is a pure physical tournament, meaning I need someone who is physically strong and knows martial arts. I scroll the list of characters and stop at the familiar name. It is Kouha Ren from Magi. He is a human with the power of Djinn, a being that is made of magic that grants power to anyone who conquers their dungeon. He is a master swordsman, and with the power of Djinn, he can be considered a master mage. After thinking for a few seconds, I pick him to be my new body and take over his power.

It cost me one hundred points, but that is okay.

In the next section, I will take [Faerie Feast] for ten points, which lets me cook delicious food. I leave the binding alone and take the company stamps. As for talent, I only take the [Body Tune-Up] perk for five points and leave the rest to buy [Mind Defence] to ensure any mind control effect is greatly resisted. I need to buy one more to get the immunity.

It is not much, but it is enough for this world. Monsters and humans are the most dangerous things in this world, and my new self will take care of them. There is no exotic attack that will harm me in this world. Even when there is one, I can easily get more points after stamping the targets in this world.

I nod and press the done button.

"Good. You are done."
