Chapter 104- Newfound Terror
As Roxanne breathed out hot flames that stopped the Leopard from advancing, Grey was giving some breathing space. He suspended his attack to catch his breath and gain an oversight of the overall situation.
'...Roxanne is probably best suited to fight this Snow Leopard! With her hot flames, she can suppress the Snow Leopard to a certain extent.' Grey thought inwardly before intervening.
With the double efforts of both Grey and Roxanne, the Leopard soon fell to their combined attacks. Grey took the four eyes of the Snow Leopard, which he found Roxanne seemed to dislike.
After throwing it into his storage bag, they soon left the scene of battle in a hurry to avoid meeting other creatures.
Grey was injured by the Snow Leopard, and little blood flowed from his gaping wound. Which made the scene look weird and unnaturalg at the same time.
Gritting his teeth, Greet stuffed some medicine into his wounds before taking some healing pills. Although the pain burned deep into his mind, he beared through with it, for what seemed like eternity.
Although Grey trusted the purple crystal to heal him, he still applied some medicine to aid his recovery.
After that, Grey casually brought out a cloth and used it to clean the blood from his body. He also took out some clean and fresh clothes to dress the wound and have a change of clothes.
But of course, that could not be seen because the mysterious cloak covered his physical appearance- including his clothes as well.
'Thesd fights are becoming more dangerous and intense! I have to get stronger at a faster pace!' Grey muttered to himself as his body swayed like the wind in the soft blowing snow.
His mutters could not be heard clearly because of the whistling wind, but if you listened closely, you could hear sounds that sounded like eerie voices speaking.
But Grey did not notice any of that as he focused on the journey ahead, wary of the constant dangers that could be lurking at every corner.
This was the Everlasting Continent and the dangers present here were much more harrowing than what he had faced in the boundless river.

Several weeks soon passed by, and what felt like months to the cultivators, was actually a few weeks.
During his time on the Everlasting Continent, Grey had met several other humans. But they all showed hostile intent towards him, which always led to a fight!
But during these fights, he had always come out on top. Stronger, and better than before. The speed of the Forbidden Monarch arthad slowed down a lot, but it still managed to catch up to his level of cultivation, of the eighth level of the Sky Mist Art.
Well, how could that not be possible! He has been cultivating in a Celestial Qi and Cold yin energy world for weeks now.
When Grey decided to compare between the Cold yin energy in his body, and the Celestial Qi filled energy within him. He found out that compared to Celestial Qi and Spirit energy, Cold yin was much more selective about arts and techniques.
Over the past few weeks, he had been practicing on improving the few techniques he had when he came to this realization.
He discovered that Cold yin could not do the same arts as Spirit energy or Celestial Qi.
But Spirit energy could copy the spells of Cold you energy, although, their effectiveness would be reduced significantly.
As for why this was so, Grey could not come to a conclusion. 'Celestial Qi, Spirit energy, and Cold you are all energies that are contained in the world. So why can't Cold yin energy recreate the same techniques that you can do with Spirit energy.'
'Are they really that different and one can't be used to replace the other? Or is there another reason behind it? I heard that Cold yin energy mostly comes from the Abyss. Not only from the Abyss, but also the Netherworld...'
Feeling somewhat stumped about the lack of an answer, Grey decided to leave that train of thought alone until he could come up with a reasonable explanation.
Currently, Grey was standing on top of a huge snow covered mountain. The icy terrains looking so Cold and jagged that they cut into your mind and affected your psyche.
Further down the mountain, was a tall and impregnable fortress. It's tower tops so tall that they looked to be piercing the sky! But Grey knew that it wasn't that tall. After all, for it to be truly Pierce the sky, it meant that it had cut through the two skies dividing both the Everlasting Continent and the Boundless river.
The icy plains in which the fortress stood on was sparse and very spacious. Grey even found the scene to be quite baffling, because this was the largest clearing he had seen on this Everlasting Continent for the past few weeks.
And the view was simply splendid!
"The Guardian's Fortress..." Grey whispered softly. His voice turning distorted in the silent wind and sparse plains.
Grey learnt some weeks back that the Guardian of this small world lived in a solitary and impregnable fortress that was surrounded by icy plains.
Although Grey felt some apprehension and mostly fear towards Divine existences, Grey could not resist the horrifying image of the white haired lady who sat upon the head of that Eagle like bizarre existence.
From the scene that day, Grey felt that she should be the Guardian of the small world. As no one else's strength could match hers in the small world. In fact, he even doubted that a Nascent Soul Transformation cultivator could match with the eagle like existence alone.
Despite Grey being hundreds of thousands of meters away from the inpenetrable Fortress, he felt the Divine flames in his spirit sea begin to burn with even more fervor and desire for destruction that it caused Grey to suddenly turn numb before a harrowing pain drilled into him.
The purple crystal could not seal the Divine flames in time as it suddenly broke free from the purple crystal's seal and began wrecking havoc in his spirit sea once again.
The pain was too much that Grey couldn't even let out a scream. He could only open his mouth wide but no sound would come out.
After some time, the pain stopped. When Grey came back to his senses, he found himself on the ground, and bleeding from all seven orifices. The purple crystal had managed to seal the Divine flames again!
But only after twelve breaths! That twelve breaths of time, was enough to make Grey shift backwards away from the inpenetrable Fortress with fear and new found terror!
Grey lay there for a long moment, disoriented. The pain throbbed in his body, but it was the terror of what he had just witnessed that truly gripped him.
The scene of the deadpan eyes of the white haired Divine existence flashed through his mind at that moment.
