Chapter 6: Killing Zombies!
Draziel tilted his head slightly to gaze at the body before him and saw glowing item before him.
[Iron Knife: Sharpness and durability can match that of a sharpened chef knife.]
The knife was a 12-inches black steel knife that looked extremely similar to a machete!
Feeling the cold touch from the steel blade, and the translucent meaty piece of flesh on his palm, Draziel frowned.
"Why didn't the talent work?"
He had killed the zombies but the items dropped didn't multiplier.
Does it have to be real humans?
"This talent is really suited for me."
Draziel chuckled when he thought if it.
He checked his status and saw that his evo points had increased by 0.06 points.
Evolution points can be used to increase stats when above 0.10 points but they seem to be permanent, unlike the Darkbull energy drink that increases strength by 30 percent for about an hour when ingested.
Which meant that people would be able to get stronger with the help of Evo points.
There was no use thinking too deeply into things. He now had a tier-2 Nuclei. He would test it in a safe place.
He held his steel knife and kept the two iron rods. His next target were the people in the other offices. He really wanted to test his theory.
4.
Draziel tapped and held a spot below his ear, on his neck. "Call Yvonne."
[ERROR! Unable To Connect, please try again later.]
The nuclear explosion should have wiped out the Cell Towers within range.
Dismissing the words before his eyes, he scrolled through his interface and went ahead to select the Cybernet option, wanting to find information on what had actually happened.
[Error 3011, currently unable to connect to the server.]
[Solution: Restart the Bionic Smart Lens or move to the closet WiFi location and try again.]
As a worker, Draziel was able to freely connect his Smart Lens.
Although Draziel wasn't surprised when he saw this, an inexplicable feeling overwhelmed him.
"They are not able to monitor me now." Draziel closed his eyes and breathed in deeply as though this was the first real air he had taken in years.
Imagine your every move, action and even choice of words as well as thoughts being controlled for seven years. Draziel had almost gotten used to it.
After a while, he stared at his wristband, fixated.
"BANG!"
It immediately shattered under the force of his blade.
"Barbara is it? Your blood shall stain my hands."
Waves of hot air blew from the city to his face as he gazed down at the city.
Bands of thick smoke rose from numerous collapsed buildings and cars, moving up to the skies like foggy pillars.
The air was filled with yellowish-like particles filling up his lungs as he inhaled.
Draziel stood still for a while, deep in thoughts as to what was happening. First the nuclear explosions, then the zombies and now, all forms of communication are down which meant the satellites are down.
It was perfect.
He wasn't concerned about Lyssa since her mother; Yvonne, could take good care of her in any situation. Only an army could stop that woman.
"736 routine streaks put to an end." He closed his eyes and inhaled. The particles rushed into his nose like a tornado.
A thick smell of copper filled his nose making his heart pound rapidly in excitement. His body shuddered but Draziel managed to contain himself.
"Achoo!"
Draziel sneezed and rubbed his nose. The radiation was beginning to affect him. He could feel his body getting warmer and his cells abnormally affected.
'I need a mask.'
He had no idea where he could get a gas mask within the company, so he decide to make an alternative.
Grabbing a bottle of water from the shattered office, he tore the middle-aged female's white shirt, soaked it with water and then proceeded to tie the wet cloth around his nose. Finally, he felt as though he could breathe freshly again.
While he could still feel little of the particles entering his lungs, this is still a pretty effective temporary preventive method.
Draziel looked through the shattered glass walls of the skyscraper billowing with smoke and intense cold wind and stared down at the street.
The entire street below was in absolute chaos. Cars had smashed against each other from behind, exploding as they tumbled onto each other.
Heavy trucks had crashed into buildings, pieces and corpses of pedestrians littered the asphalt road, while those that managed to survive the bombings were attacked by other zombie like humans like wolves jumping into a horde of sheep.
The entire city was extremely chaotic, filled with blood, smoke and carnage. Humans begging and crying for mercy, praying for forgiveness to whoever was listen while some ran for cover.
They were like headless chickens, trying to avoid death from the insatiable monsters that kept multiplying each second.
Draziel's eyes narrowed. Things are more chaotic than he had expected. But first, he wanted to confirm his conjectures.
He swept his gaze at the closed offices. There were more than 20 private offices on this floor. The twenty private offices took the entire floor since they had their own personal bathroom, bedroom and toilets in there.
This was the benefit of being a mid-ranking worker within sich a large company. And the rooms were no less extravagant than a hotel.
Draziel took out his key card. As a mid-level janitor, this card allows him access to any office from the first floor to the 49th floor.
The upper floor requires a higher level of clearance to access.
Something which Draziel clearly didn't own.
The power had been cut off, but the backup generator wasn't affected by the explosions as it immediately started working.
He walked towards the first room, with 801 written on it and then swiped his card at the door security platform. There was a clicking sound, the mechanism unlocked and the door opened wide.
Draziel quietly walked into the room and was greeted with a very subtle but luxurious looking room. It looked comfy, a little untidy, but it was spacious and grand.
Draziel was familiar with this room since this was his third time cleaning this floor in the past two months.
Judging by the clothes in the ground, Draziel was sure someone was within this room. It seemed as though the owner was in a hurry to use the bathroom.
He paused slightly. The person within the room might not have transformed into a zombie since the explosion might not have reached them.
He wanted to test the 10,000x return.
It was then he heard the repeatedly banging sound from the bathroom door. The bathroom had been built to be soundproof. Nearly all the rooms had been built that way.
Noticed the repeated savage banging sounds from the bathroom. Draziel's eyes flashed in disappointment as he muttered. "Sure enough, it's a zombie."
He opened the door and a naked female zombie with two massive melons stumbled out from the bathroom.
Draziel closed the door, giving him more space as he went behind the naked lady zombie, he was about to stab the zombie when he noticed something from the corner of his eyes.
Another zombie was actually also inside the bathroom.
Draziel's brows rose.
"An affair?"
