Chapter 40: Tier 1 Mutated Human!
On the 40th floor, the creature slanted its neck and suddenly dropped to the ground, then its body stretched as it stood upright seeming like a human but apparently, its legs seem to be bent backwards.
Draziel's pupils constricted upon seeing this and the status.
A mutated human, already? The beast standing upright was even taller than him by a head.
Unexpectedly, his eyes brightened and the boredom in his face was rapidly wearing thin as he made the connection.
If beasts could mutate due to the severe amount of radiation in the atmosphere, that also signifies humans could mutate, but the probability of a successful mutation in the cells of a human is so meager that most humans die from the process, but this person seems to have survived it.
"Hey, can you talk?" Draziel's voice suddenly rolled within the quiet hallway, startling the man who was shivering in the corner of the hallway and the creature. The arrival of the mytates human seem to have scared off the mutated giant pigeons.
The mutated human opened its mouth and a sharp deafening shriek tore through its beak, piercing through Draziel's eardrum like a siren.
"Screeech!"
"Okay! Alright! You are mute, I got it."
"Screeech!"
The mutated human shrieked in pure fury and with a loud bang, the ground beneath the mutated human instantly caved in as it flapped its wings backwards. In that instant, it shot towards Draziel with a whoosh like an arrow leaving its bow, its agility leaving several after images, far faster than what Draziel had experienced from the Sabre-Tooth Tiger.
Draziel had seen the attack coming, but its speed had exceeded his imagination. He was barely able to react when the mutated human arrived before Draziel in a split second, a massive strength slammed into him like a loving train.
"Bam!"
Draziel's body was unceremoniously tossed backwards like a sandbag and as his body was about to slam against the wall behind him, he forcefully twisted his midsection, shifting the pressure to his legs as his limbs landed on the wall, making him parallel to the floor surface.
Compressing the force in his body to the wall, Draziel's knees bent against the wall and he seem to have been stuck to the wall like a nail, as though his legs contained adhesives, making him linger vertical to the wall. His hands trembled slightly and he could feel his internal organs had received a great jolt. Even the injuries he believed had healed were exhibiting signs of appearing, noticing that his ribs were hurting after the attack. He wasn't fully healed yet and now he was fighting, making his prior injuries worse.
The assault from the beast was very tough, but Draziel noticed it was still a bit weaker than the Sabre-tooth Tiger seeing as he was able to receive the attack without his bones breaking.
But the power of the Mutated Human didn't seem to rely on its strength, but its tremendous speed!
Draziel's heel blasted heavily against the wall and his body swirled twice in mid-air and then one of his legs suddenly stretched out.
BANG!
The chains holding the second stairway door rattled loudly, severing into two as a massive force chopped into it like a knife.
The door directly opened and the frightened man who was curled up against it, with his body shivering from intense fear, his body involuntarily sent to the stairs, rolling through the stairways like a barrel tossed against the stairs. The man screamed his guts out like a little girl, almost as loud as the Mutated Human's shriek.
Draziel's face turned unpleasant and a thought struck him, but he placed it to the back of his head as his body finally dropped to the ground.
Even with the irrational mutation of the cancerous cells within its body, it still retained a bit of intelligence and could surmise what Draziel was about to accomplish. Since the door was now opened, it was obvious Draziel would head into the stairway opening, and lock himself in it.
The Mutant's dried up face opened up as it screeched loudly, its arms which had somehow transformed into leathered wings flapped once and a massive gust of wind erupted behind it as its body shot forwards like a bullet.
And much like an apparition, Draziel could sense the Mutant getting close to him. In that second, Draziel performed something unexpected, his body moved towards the door, but he suddenly slammed his leg again the wall, the force jolted along his body as he manoeuvred towards the opposite direction, evading the Mutant's lunge by just an inch.
Using his other leg, he bounced off the other wall as he leapt into the air with the leverage. Now he was above the Mutant. Time seemed to slow down as the beady eye of the Mutant rolled upwards to look at Draziel.
Its momentum was too fast, therefore it was unable to change directions so suddenly and in such a narrow space at that. The Mutant flapped its wings rapidly as its thin body slowed down but still, it wasn't adequate.
Draziel heaved his combat blade as he held it straight, his body plummeted onto the back of the mutant as his blade headed for the neck, a very clean stab to the skull and it would all be over.
But just as his blade was just two inches away from the Mutant's bald head, Draziel's expression changed slightly.
The Mutant's eyes glinted and with astonishing dexterity, its wings bend sideways like that of a plane permitting it's body to spin around in mid-air with the assistance of the wind and it was unexpectedly facing towards Draziel.
A bloodthirsty intent filled Its mind as its talons swooshed in the air, snatching towards Draziel with its claws. Draziel who was still in mid-air had no leverage that could assist him to move in the air, rendering him quite helpless.
"Ding!"
He hastily crossed his blades and an enormous force smashed into him. The kinetic force immediately pushed him upwards violently as he unceremoniously crashed into the concrete ceiling.
